og kush is one of the best indicas ever!

OG Kush is far from an indica.

While Bubba Kush and Master Kush, Afpak etc are all indicas, and certainly indica dominant, OG "Kush" is at best a 50/50 sativa/indica and in its growing characteristics and smoke profile its sativa dominant for sure.

The "kush" in OG Kush is a misnomer whose origins I will not get into.

I have seen a hundred OG crosses, S1's, prolly plenty of s3's 4's and 5's and never have a seen an indica dominant progeny that wasn't crossed with an indica. Anybody else?

I am running TK, Fire OG, Grouch and Bubba from god in the same tray. Its a sweet frame. I will have photos soon. Bout 35 days in and things are getting photogenic.

TK is the better yielding OG fosho. That makes me happy since the sample Tom Hill brought me 2 years ago was, hands down, the best OG I have ever smoked.

btw: That SFV looks awesome... the White Fire a couple of posts back was also impressive looking. Does it stand up as an OG or have its own thing going on?

Definately agree there Nomaad! I think the reason people say Indica is that it's much more marketable at least in Socal. Grow em outdoors and the truth comes out...grows like a smaller (yeah I know they can get big) sativa. Pure sativas sometimes have the same structure but the buds definately aren't as dense. I always thought name Ocean Grown Kush had a bit of sarcasm to it since it is obviously heavy sativa with some kush (indica) thrown in the mix that weighs heavy on the buds for certain traits. Kind of like saying "this is the kind of 'kush' we grow on the westside!"' And you don't get the joke till you grow the plant. Probably get a lot of shit for that opinion, but hey..it's just that.

I go off the high.

I dont ever have OG kushes that get me that uppity sativa buzzin type of high.

While I'll agree its not 100% indica put you to sleep every time stuff, I've always had effects that lean more towards the indica type of high.

Then again I dont cut my OG's at 8 weeks like lots of other people do.

It's a huge bitch to root. Took me 3 tries to get cuts to root. Originally got it at the same time as the ghost last year, ghost was tough, but rooted. Took another failed try and a years time for me to obtain sfv again and get it root

my OG's stretched almost four feet in 2 weeks. Indica my ass.

relative comment. how big were they before?

My Og's never get more than 2x size, even after stretch. dunno if light is an issue at all.

and stretch and/or nug stature (loose airy foxtailing or dense christmas trees) are physical attributes, not definitive whether its sativa or indica.

Yeah OG makes dense little christmas trees on a lankier plant. I still think its indica dominant as thats what the high has been for me from nearly every well grown 'true' OG (not some og hybrid)

my SFV roots easy but the new Loius XIII cuts i got took over a month....

she stretches like hell in flower....the plant structure never resembles indica...the only thing "indica" about OG is the high..

even the nugs like the stretch and get a poddy haze look sometimes...SFV does this alot. the Fire cuts i have seen stay a little more dense and round..

to answer your question, my current run of OG started flowering at about 1.5 feet tall. a couple weeks in they were about 5 feet.

OG Kush is an very unique plant. Indoors it is a weak plant that grows like a vine... Outdoors she is a whole new plant :)

OG Kush flowering in my small greenhouse with no light depo...

Put out at about 1ft. tall, finishing about 3ft tall.

Strong plants outside, weak inside :ying:
