Your detox and high energy output sound fine. I have always been an energy person too.

I have moved between the various food intake worlds over the past decades...11 years of vegetarianism plus 2 more as vegan then a big 50oz steak to break my fast. Coffee replaced by South American mate, alcohol replaced by weed, endless hiking over the years, making flagstone patios and dry-stack stone walls for fun, and back to coffee with alcohol and mountain biking.

One constant that has kept me young and vibrant...daily amounts of fresh, local bee pollen. You likes the pollen, eh?

I worked for a professional beekeeper when I was 22 and learned from a master with 500 colonies. Getting into the health food world at the Organic Kitchen in Denver and Mount Hope in Cottonwood woke me up to wholesome also. Honey is fine, bee propolis absolutely the best for a natural antibiotic (with echinacea and fresh garlic),and fresh, local bee pollen is the Great Mystery's gift to humans.

The Pablos know I'm sure.

I would be an amazing...

I would be an amazing...

Bee keeper. If I had the correct property...and was not in down size mode...I'd have my own hives. The pollen is awesome...totally agree. More than anything though...I go through shit loads of local wildflower honey. I do think it better to consume honey harvested from your immediate local area. I dose all my running water with honey.....flush a lot of honey through my system.

I have pretty extensive veggie/fruit gardens...so I'm constantly intertwined with honey and bumble bees. Peaceful...busy....productive...goal oriented creatures. They are good company.

My diet is evolving...but honey, apple cider vinegar, salt, and molasses, and teas are a big part. Beans are my foundation....along with fruits and veggies.

* The lion incident taught me that I'm not prey. I can not have that mentality. I ordered a brand new Ka-Bar standard 1942 style Marine Fighting Knife. Almost a foot long...7"s of blade. It's the only teeth I will have to back the balls. If you are a predator...you must have teeth. Everything that threatens you...will.

With a lion...fleeing is not an option and will get you killed. If it ambushes you....you are done...probably won't even know...but if you are in a face off...and it charges...you may be able to at least stick it. The Ka-Bar is long enough and light enough. Run with it in a sheath...in my hand. Being in the woods without a knife and a way to start fire is not a good idea.

** Night running....yes way more dangerous....but you have experiences in the dark....that you just can not have under the sun. There is shit out there....shit that remains unexplained...and goes away with daylight....or at least goes back under.

To settle your stupid mind...to be able to breathe in the air of the night....is an exercise. You feel much more isolated and much more alone. I'm not a ghost chaser...but I'm very spiritual, respectful, and open to other realities. In the woods....at night...is a different reality. Call it what you want...but I ask to be blessed before I enter the woods.

*** I have looked hard. There are absolutely no advantages to becoming elderly. People will eventually treat you as they treat a young child....as your body fails...as your mind fails...and you are shitting yourself on a regular bases. Kept alive by modern medical drugs and techniques....your value to the world fading with every breath. Fuck that...I'm in my prime now....I know it will be my day someday...but I don't worry about it at all. I hope when my day comes...I'm welcoming death in.

I live in one of the most heavily-populated areas of mountain lions in the US and what you said about being aware and not being prey is ultimately the first step in being in tune with our Wild brothers and sisters.

I, too, have a friendship prayer that I say every time I enter the Wild Kingdom...probably should have one for the city as well but I never have issues there. Nor in the wild with the friends that live there. I have been within 6 inches of rattlesnakes about 8 times over the years. Three at night in my garden..sat down on a log to take a break and saw in the moonlight a funny round rock near my feet. Flashlight showed different, ha. An Arizona Black nicely coiled waiting to see what i'll do. No rattle from any of the 8 I've been so near to and that's the rub...if you're going to step on one make sure you step on its head.

You'll be able to stand a second if your reflexes are well-trained and decide how you plan to jump away. Usually I don't get such a chance because I've jumped so fast and quick that my mind catches up later.

A friend jogging jammed down next to one such rattleworm and it struck the bottom of his tenny as he kept running, before he could react. Didn't break through rubber but it bent his mind...wears snake gaiters now when jogging on rough, brushy trails.

I always look down as I move in the desert. Stop to look around and then back to scanning. One day I saw a nice Mojave moving through Manzanita bushes...three feet off the ground! I had always been looking to the ground...now I don't just blast through shrubs and Manzanita without awareness.

Honey is fine...the bee keeper I worked for lived near Terra Bella and had a honey house with a massive cetrifuge. I would sit and fill 5 gallon tins (62 ilbs of honey each) for hours...licking my fingers between each fill. later we took several hundred tins on his sorely-overloaded 2-ton flat bed ford to every health food store from LA to Santa Rosa. came back empty each time. Yum.

That was a great post in the lion thread (hadn't seen the thread before). I know AZ has the Jaguars coming back....those are very serious cats. Huge. I've not heard any reports of them in California...my mnt ranges would be the 1st to see them...if they come north.

I have no fear of cats....I mean....I know they are all over the trails I run. I see sign on every trail...at one time or another...they often use trails and truck trails as routes of least residence...like every other animal. I can feel them sometimes....watching me beating up myself up a hill. In fact...the cat I ran into the other night...has probably seen me before. I'd wager it has...probably like "this crazy idiot again? Wrong time dude...just letting you know"

I was able to get in a 13-15 miler today...in cold rain...at times in complete clouds (fog)...cats were not even on my mind...I was soaked and didn't take in enough calories last night...making me slow and hungry most the run. Had the whole mountain to myself...most every other being was hunkered down...out of the weather.

The transitions at dusk and dawn....just like in the ocean...always those hours.

EDIT: I have a solid relationship with rattlesnakes. I can't tell you how many I've jumped over. Yup...high grasses...and tight brushy trails are where they can catch you off guard. I often have to put my feet down blind...just one of those things you have to do. Coming up steep inclines....sometimes the snakes will be closer to your face. Baby ones will do maybe the most damage...and are very hard to see. Medium sized snakes will slither away...but older snakes are usually more grumpy...they don't take any shit...and will not move.

Currently it's spring ticks I'm dealing with...deer flies are soon to come...miserable fucking bugs. I give out flesh and blood every year.

Friday Fun Run....yet again...I'll be in cold rain and wind

Friday Fun Run....yet again...I'll be in cold rain and wind

The clock on the last two Blind Willy Chemical Hazes is winding down. I believe they are at day 70....flushing since day 55...burning through their leaves...they'll leave me less to scissor trim

Actually really nice expressions. Very mellow to grow....don't require a lot of effort after early flower training them to their cages. Well behaved girls then...aromas are citrus fuel funk....for sure can understand that some sour is being represented in a more Hazy format. Neither of these expressions are definitive of being dominated by any of the parents...instead...I'd say...they are mashes of equality.

* Blind Willy Chemical Haze has shown some nice expressions....nothing original....nothing mind blowing...just solid working class expressions. In all honesty though....in my garden....they are forgettable. Just not that exciting to cultivate.

Last Sunday I transplanted the Fuck Show seedlings from the start bin...into beer cups.

Looking for 3 females to fit my pit needs. Actually....this should be a righteously sick cross. I'll be looking for variations of the "Premium" Hell Hound mom.

Hell Hound X Bubba G......jesus fuck motherfucker...there's more of CBF's work in there than mine. I added the Odessa to OG Jam to make Hell Hound....then crossed it to Bubba G. I made Odessa.....CBF made OG Jam and Bubba G

Harvesting flowers and pollen

Harvesting flowers and pollen

Harvested selection #2 of the I-HOP Highend sisters this morning...day 62. This expression...to me...best represents the Highend in the cross. A creamy berry influenced aroma...backed by an oily funk and an old skool sativa generalness. Plenty sticky....her flowers are many...though...out of all the sisters...hers are less the spears...less the bulkiness....smaller structured flowers made up of strings of beads

look at some of the tops

* this expression was not my favorite...but still a very nice representative of...what I believe....Highend can bring to the cross. I partially pollinated her to make Salvation. With the pollination...I'm covering the expression bases.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
There is a gnarly transition upon me...as the I-HOP Highends begin to lose their domination of the flower studio....to ever hungry Hell Hound sisters. I put 3 Hell Hound girls into flower this morning....they are going to be wild. Conditions are primo....expressions are primo....time to charge it

As the Hell Hound swell rises to take form...I have begun collecting pollen from the 2 exiled males. They are breeders...not looking to short me on dust. They began dropping this very day.

Biggest of the tops

Not massive....but dense....and again...this flower structure and the aroma of it...remind me of other plants I've grown (TFlux Highland)

managed to get the plant trimmed up and into a cardboard box to dry...I'll tell you...it reeks up the place really good. Gets kudos on aroma and resin. It's different.

The False Males and a new tooth

The False Males and a new tooth

The 2 plants that I had sexed as males in veg....the 2 plants that forced me to reroute I-HOP Highend into Salvation...and into using self pollen on another sister...in an act of lesbianism and line salvage. The 2 plants that showed very early male sex..later..or in a short time...only to become full blown fabulous females.

Now somewhere around 70 days flower...plowing the fucking field...mules?....whatever....they are 'no tricks now' full on blasters. Have not seen any intersex since those early foolish flower days

Very sativa-like expressions...flushing for weeks...still putting forth efforts...stinking of berries...sweet musk..nothing really foul until you nose into the flowers...then...there is a rotten fruit dankness...down there in the basement.

Going to yield....to my great surprise....the I-HOP Highend girls are all yielders. I thought that the Rene might come into play on yields...but...nope. I still can't really read the expressions...they are all very very similar. Sometimes I see Haze...sometimes I see Blueberry...I don't know exactly what I see....other than sick ass plants.

Most...will be going beyond 70 days flower. Amazing stuff...really. I combined two of my favorite modern day hybrids: SCreme'n Dawg (Strawberry Dog) and Highend. Both parents were in the F2 generation. This shit should be different and it should be top shelf. A great run. This project line will be worked further. I know this is a way I need to go.
