Heaths tree grows....
2 tips I have are
-dont use rubber tubes that aren't made for plants(jacuzzi tubes, etc.)Use pvc pipes
-make sure you have a chiller(i really cant stress this enough...if you cant keep temps around 70 dont even bother trying RDWC)or use frozen bottles daily if you have enough of them

hey bagada- its good to see that you had a problem in your grow and you've learned from it. good job warning others of the things you learned from your problems. this site (and the world) would be alot better place if people were more modest and truthful about their experiences and short-comings, like you are doing....

Yah i researched the web before building my bio buckets and i heard you dont need to use a chiller with them...but i think you still do. And I was so focused on design that I overlooked water temps. Now i feel that any design will work as long as water temps are good..be it undercurrent, bio-buckets, DWC, cooler DWC, etc. My plants were surviving off of frozen water bottles.
and PIFFGURU...thanks alot for the link. I accidently found a thread on there that was exactly what i was looking for.

Mad Matt you can take a look HERE. There are several pics of my r-dwc.
I used the Blazeoneup's thread to make it with some differences, mainly that every bucket has its own return line to the controller. This makes me in peace with overflow.

If you want there is a couple of thread where you can look at the progress:

I definitely love rdwc, it's a really good grow system. Just consider one thing, if water temp goes over 22°C trouble can start and it's not easy to cool and keep cool a lot of water, or at least it's not practical.
Once the plants are in place, you can't move them anymore till the harvest. This mean you should leave some space to work around.

I love more only coco&perlite as every plant has its own bucket, but I can move them and take care of the plants closer.

Best luck

ps: try to consider a good insulation when build an rdwc system. It will help you a lot ;)

the speed of DWC vs soil is over double the growth...thats the main reason I would go through the hassle of DWC. My long term goal is to find a way to grow DWC in my hot environment, it doesnt matter what setup since they all work well.
