about 40 seedlings are up on solo cups with the mixture provided above! still got 5 that havent popped yet ;) but i'm sure they should be up in a day or 2...

They being vegetate under 4x 23w cfls, gonna add 2 more to make it 6 total!

In 2 or 3 weeks they will be outdoors!

Peace

42N backyarder here, i've a 10x15' plot, tomatoes on one side, peppers on the other and 3-5 ladies in the middle. Thinking about tilling up another 5x5' for poppies, anyone ever try any up here?

Rolldaddy,

To mimic daylight length, since they are going out on around 15hours daylight... That way reduces stress when they are transplanted outdoors!

:)

Went last week to the location for a closer inspection and to dig a few holes.

It's pretty swampy/marsh type of environment there! Soil is had a lot of clay. We found some good locations in some hills where there was a 12-15inch layer of nice decomposed leaf/organic matter, fluffy, black soil.

We dug some holes 3x3x15" on most of these spots. Got about 15 done so far, back is sore as fuuuckkk lol

We also mixed about 30gals of soil or so, still need to add more soil next time we go up there to finish digging! Probably going to need to mix another 40 gal or so!

The plants look great at about 2 weeks old. The got another 2 weeks indoors and then will be transferred out!

Hope preparations are going well for everyone!

I'll post back soon with more updates

Peace

i have read for big plants you do 3x3x3 ft deep to see lb yields. i dont know about swamps and all, but ive seen people put smart pots in swamps.

You should atleast PH your soil, if it is really a Marsh. Salt and all...

good luck. I like fresh- water swamps myself :)

You are going to dig 3 feet deep? In my opinion everythig deeper than 20 inches is a waste of time and soil, because roots don't grow deeper than this (lack of oxygen). I don't dig ever deeper than 16 inches and make a good mulch on top. You won't regret it.

Good luck for your grow.

Good reason to dig deeper than 20 inches would be to make moisture reservoir. For example mix water crystals with soil bellow 20 inches depth. This way plants will have a better chance to survive those long periods of drought and there's no need to water them. At least in my climate. I made holes like this and plants/yield was always better. This is for guerilla of course.

Today went to the spot and put 40 plants out. Most of holes were put 2 plants per, Some got 1 per hole. Spots looked good even tho it rained heavy last night. I caged them in with some plastic fence. Put some slug bait and a round of lime around the holes. I'm wondering how long I got to keep them fenced in to keep it away from the deer?! If someone knows, please let me know. It's suppose to rain the next day or two. Some holes will get so much sunlight. Lets just hope the organic mix its not too hot, only been sitting out for 10 days or so. Anyways, I'll keep yall updated.

Deer won't really bother them ON PURPOSE... but no matter what size they are they could get trampled by accident if you don't have any fencing up..

Keeping my fingers crossed. I put mine 4 weeks ago without any protection. 15 out of 40 survived. Time to plant some more. Good luck with the season!

Checked them girls 2 weeks ago, and they were all happy. Chopped like 4 males that had shown sex already. I also removed a few cages due stealthiness. Trying to go this weekend and check things out. I hope the removal of the cages werent a disaster. The weather havent been so great lately. We had 1 week of good sunshine but it's been raining for the past few days... lets hope this rain goes away and brings the sunshine! :) Hope everyone doing good out there! Peace

BULLSHIT

BULLSHIT

Dear will munch off all the leaves & shoots & leave you with nothing but a stripped skeleton, if you're lucky one or two shoots will be left & the plant will miraculously survive the apocolypse. Only happens in may, june, and early july to plants that are still young- then there is an abundance of fresh growth on native forage for them & they don't bother them until flower again where they usually do minimal damage. Drought conditions play a role in that as well. Thanks to ds toker for schooling me on the why's of that once.

I had a 4' autoflower, easy qp, last year get completely stripped & killed. Who else here seen the skeleton say yeah'

A good coating of capsaicin based sprays does the trick, it will burn the leaves though so try not to go too crazy.

On a side note, I almost got attacked by a doe one season, coyote's are pussies, but having a deer 20' away and tamping the ground and huffing at you about to charge is no joke.
