Its a scrog net . it helps train the plants so that they don't get to high . you bend the branches down & tie them to the net so that you wind up with an even canopy . if you look around here at ICmag theres a ton of great info on scrog nets .

What up fellas!! About to try my first coco hempys.. I got some coco called gold label, This guy i got it from says it's the shiz!! Anybody mess around with gold label coco? Also any pointers for first timer? I will be using the 2.5 gals with bottom chunky and the rest coco. I will be using 50/50 RO Tap, and feeding the 6/9 gh nutes. He also said i will have to add cal mag. But i thought the 6ml of micro would be enough??
Peace

every coco plant ive grown in pure coco has looked great, tasted great but smoked like weak shit, and everybody elses who grows with it i notice im high real fast then its gone real fast, it seems to make the absolutely best tasteing pot ever but the weed from it just isnt good, i must be doing somthing wrong or im just a soil guy, hydro erb n coco erb usually are great short lived highs that to acheive u need to water your plants 60 times in a grow instead of 15. im into mixing it (coco) not using it straight. anybody noticed similar things with coco, very fast growth, big buds but lacking something.? im not really impressed with a shit ton of huge very green buds that suck, its not why i grow. the whole giant hydro crumbly low greasey factor buds just dont do it for muah.

Hi Vampire. In a Hempy bucket system there are no holes in the bottom of the bucket. Just one small hole, 2 inches above the bucket. The run off would be caught in a tray underneath the bucket...

I throw away my run off, but some people use the run off to feed their regular house plants (I have no regular house plants, just weed plants lol).

I had a simuliar thing happen. It was noticeable weaker than the same plant grown in organic soil. I used clones from the same mother. Cheers

Grassott's dad: I so appriciate your answer. I did get the part about putting 2 inches of perlite on the bottom of the bucket but the run off is where i got confused because the first pages of this thread said that the plant would be watered for a few days in case we went away so that's how i thought they meant the run-off would be the bottom water supply. Anyways, I'm still having a problem with the amount of fluff that comes up in the cococoir that i'm using. I shoulda got brick but i'm using Roots Organic which is loaded with perlite and when i water the plants, a good 2" of the coco sorta floats up; i can put my finger in the coco and its all water past my knuckle. I press it down and keep adding more coco is the best i can figure to do. Oh well, i'll get it right one day, this is my first experience with coco so luckily clones are growing in it and not pricey seeds. Thanks again for your help; Rastafari my friend.

Yea right! The plants are more potent because of the medium they are grown in....is that what you're saying?

No worries dude. I've done Hempy buckets using the original perl/verm mix in the past with great results. My mate (who I'm helping out) is currently doing his first coco Hempy run.

We don't have any problems with floating coco. Did you remember to fill the rez area with perlite?

Basically all you need to know is Hempy's basic instructions, in the green bit, right here...

3 weeks ago yesterday i put 6 biesels in 2 gallon coco hempys into flower .

The biesels have a pretty good stretch to them & are pretty hard to control unless you use a net . but even with the net they can get away from ya :)
here they are 3 weeks & 1 day later .... coco hempys are the easiest way i've found to grow yet & are as comparable to hydro as you can get . I have had no difference in taste with the coco whatsoever . I've grown these same plants in coco hempys DTW coco 7 even in promix & foxfarms soil ..... I'm sorry guys but i don't think the coco is the problem with your taste problems .

heres the girls 3 weeks later ....

i've been tying branches down the whole time & have at least a dozen more to supercrop .

...awesome man, I knew it would come easy to you, ...and you'll really like how fast they take off once you pot them up into your hempys.

...btw, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner but I'm dealing with some housing issues that have kept me distracted.

...anyway, lol, now I see you run SCROG I thought maybe you'd dig taking a walk through Marlo's garden, he's doing some really cool stuff with the SCROG concept, very innovative.

Marlo's W.O.W. Thread.

...your garden looks awesome too man, you got the knack for real.

Peace,SOG

Jesus what are you doing with those no pest strips by your plants? They emit an odor less gas poison for insects that is getting ingested and covering your buds. Plus your fan is circulating it all over in there.. haha. Wow.. I hope you don't give those away to patients or sell them, if they are for you then well good luck.

They are supposed to be placed OUTSIDE your grow room to prevent insects from even getting in. Wow..

I mean read the package they are not even suppose to be placed near HUMANS for long periods of time. Your plants are with them 24hours!! Dude read the package or google them..

Oh they do work, just use them correctly so you don't get sick or die.

LOL. Debates or not, when a MANUFACTURE of said product states "do not place near humans or pets" I tend to sway the side of common sense and place them outside my grow.

Which they still work, which brings us back to common sense since you try to act like an educated individual but you just lack common sense.

So.. if they work outside the tent/room as well as in, why not play it safe and put them outside? I mean if it works and the manufacture warns against it, um why not?

You must be one of the rebels who just want to fight a fight no matter what the cause, well good luck to you son.

You know NOTHING of me or my grow situation but because you see a hot shot i have no common sense ?????
I'm in no mood to get into a pissing match with an insulting know it all . so how about you worry about yourself & let me worry about me ?
now lets move on to the hempy thread huh ?

Wasn't insulting anyone or anything, your plants are really nice.

Just a shame you are contaminating them and/or the other issues which make you mad, closed minded and resentful. I don't know, I am not going to ask or even want to know your story.

I was simply stating a fact by the MANUFACTURER of the product, and if anyone should know about it's affects on anything other then insects it would be them. Not some stupid discussion that some Algonquin round table of growers stated it's ok or not ok which you seem to stake more truth in then the people who make the product?! Sorry, maybe I do stake too much value in common sense I apologize. I mean they coined the term "blind luck" for someone huh? Maybe you are famous?! I mean come on brother, when you grow up and realize things are always not an attack on you, then your eyes will open and you can finally see.

I am betting this chap is from MI, since most the growers from NE are pissed off at the world types trying to fight the wrong fight. Good luck to you on your fight, what ever you think it might be.
