Peter Lewis Backs Mass MMJ Legalization Effort

Next time you’re channel-surfing and come across yet another of those Progressive Insurance ads featuring the obnoxious character “Flo” don't get too annoyed, because the chairman of Progressive, Peter Lewis, is one of the most important financial backers of the medical marijuana movement in the U.S. and the man behind the current campaign to legalize medical cannabis in Massachusetts.

Lewis donated $525,000 of the $526,167 total the Committee for Compassionate Marijuana - the organization seeking to place the medi-pot ballot question before voters in November - raised last year. If the question passes, qualified Massachusetts patients would be able to obtain up to a 60-day supply of medicinal cannabis from one of the 35 nonprofit dispensaries to be located throughout the state. These medical treatment centers would be authorized not only to cultivate but also to produce other medical marijuana delivery options including cannabis-based food (“medibles”), tinctures, oil/ointments and even aerosols.

The Massachusetts Department of Health will be charged with issuing registration cards to patients who receive a physician’s written recommendation to use medical cannabis.

Lewis has been donating to medical marijuana ballot initiatives in various U.S. states since the 1990s and also advocates the legal recreational use of marijuana, in addition to personally using it medicinally to provide pain management for a leg partially amputated in 1998. Lewis was busted for possession of over an ounce at New Zealand's Auckland Airport in 2000 - when he was 66. Fortunately, the Kiwi's “progressive” pot laws meant the insurance magnate served no time for his crime.

So a tip o' the bong to Peter Lewis, a necessary force against the staggering power and massive anti-drug resources of the federal government.

Bio, great post, with any luck the road crews will be pulling truckloads of haze off the side of the road in Mass instead of leaning on a shovel...I just realized my gardens go on at 4:20 again, no more waking up at 2 everyday, damn I passed out yesterday at 3:30 and woke up a couple min ago, I was out walking the highwater for a few in the freezing cold, all that exposure knocked me down.As soon as 4pm hits its over for me.I'm ready at lights on though, believe it, just keep the coffeee going and the hash.Had a snowstorm yesterday, 3" in about 2hrs just when I was about to pull my boat out and start working on her....Nice branches Tfresh!!!:tiphat:

chaco,

Lol, the things we do for plants, like switching up our sleep cycles. I'm sure the loss of another hour doesnt help, heh.

Enjoy the extra hour of sunlight everyone - im going back to sleep for another hour =)

Still messing around with these S99X's over here. Enjoying the sampling phase and making mental notes of which does what and how well. I had some brief moments where I thought I might be losing my mind, dedicating a whole tent to making seed but I'm glad I did. Scary part is, I kinda have an itch for it now.

Welcome aboard, rasputin! :D

The biggest downers are shucking seed and cleaning up the mess, like I had to do today after these guys finished up last week.

Does this make me an official weed geek now? I blame you and PABLOS, if anyone asks. :D

Cleaning was worse than separating seed. I couldn't believe how much was on the walls, even after a good spray down. And it was everywhere! Couldn't spare an inch but I'm sure now that damn tent is even cleaner than when it was bought.

What do you usually do to separate seed? I've been taking a couple grams out at a time to smoke and just carding them up against a shoebox cover or rolling tray. There's a nice Zen quality to it. I stopped counting a while ago, though. There's a few thousand so knowing the exact # seemed pointless.

Indeed! Show me a nice fat Tautog, I used to catch those things by the boatload and spend about 9hrs cleaning them, delicious...I've been walking way out on the bar in the mornings looking for blues but the usual fall schools are not around.Usually the low tide flats are full of blues and bass about now, maybe this morning! I'm still holding on to this little Grinderella, I think she's pretty ripe at 75 days.I spent the morning yesterday going through all my flowering plants looking for defects, mold, PM, bugs, luckily everything was fine, just some overdone flowers I don't have time to cut...Great weather for all you folks outdoors, hopefully the great weather will continue!:)View Image

that is soo prettyyy :tumbleweed: i lost on that lol

Ha! I just pulled my boat out today, cleaned the thing mentally and it fired up first crank.I have a great mechanic, I'm shootin' oil out of the lower end exhaust, I know if its toast he'll tell me....if so then onwards.I've abused this skiff for years, its comes out of RI so its built for some SW chop...Heres a corner as the door closes on my Candy Chem plant, it needs a new name but as a plant its epic, this side pales to the side facing the vert 1000, these are only a few 600's around...This cut is plant porn for sure...

Chem-4

picture.php

Sore as hell right now from taking a few weeks off from the gym. Took advantage of the warm weather, sampled some of the Chem-4 fresh off the vine, loaded up gear and prepped about 40 sqft worth of guerrilla gardens in the area where I pulled this a few years ago:

I was amazed to see that the soil was already very alive with some bio-luminescent bugs! I only see those in the bombest of bomb spots, one spot I swear the entire dirt just glows green at night.

Yuno.Who,

4SD is a cross made by Rezdog. It is the original Chem 4 cut crossed to one of his Sour Diesel IBL Males.

Rez's crosses can have some real winners and they are usually pretty strong and hardy plants - however I've personally found that the highs on them doesn't always carry over too well from the parents on certain phenos.

I think you would be better off with some straight Chem4 than 70+ percent of the phenos of Rez 4SD - but that is just speculation. I only popped a couple of the 4SD's a little bit back. They were 'ok' - kind of ho hum like the ChemDD phenos I tried. Taste and smell was lacking - but it's quite possible there are some real winners in there.

As you probably now guessed 3SD = Chem 3 x Sour Diesel IBL Male

Going nuts with the microscope, looking at every square inch of the plants. Some of the better images.

KKSC at 50 days, the trichomes are going all milky and amber. These plants will most likely be done in about 15 days.

ISS at 50 days, these trichomes are still mostly clear, a few milky.

Thanks for the insight. I did some more research myself, the strain didnt look too bad..One guy was saying it was some of the best smelling, and most potent buds he's ever smoked. The yield was nice, huge colas.

At any rate, was gifted some 4SD seeds from a friend and was thinking about running it next. Wanted to get as much info on the strain as I could before I make any decisions. Is it a keeper?

4SD sounds like it could go either way, some phenos being amazing and some just so-so.

I need to find a good indoor strain, to keep for a while, any suggestions?
