Meh. I'm not too impressed, to be honest. So many advertisers have "suspended" their ads, but when public outcry dies down they'll be back, because he makes them a lot of money. I'd be more impressed if I thought he was going to lose his job over this, but I don't believe Rush will lose his job over what amounts to "just being Rush". Wow, crotchety AND simple-minded. Can't think of anything in terms more complex than "us" and "them", can we? Who are you actually talking to? Not speaking for the rest of the 'fucking hypocrites', but just for myself, I don't think it's 'OK' for public media figures or politicians to resort to name-calling, no matter if they're on 'my' team (the fucking hypocrites) or 'your' team (the people who really know how things should be). For the record, I think Bill Maher is kind of a smarmy asshole (but he's a COMEDIAN), and Ed Schultz issued an immediate and seemingly sincere public apology on the air to Ms. Ingraham, which she accepted, and life went on. Does that make it 'OK'? No, but people who fuck up should accept responsibility and act like adults. Rush is capable of none of that, and has spent a week blaming everyone else for what he said. I'm sure there's going to be a liberal conspiracy behind all his advertisers pulling out, too.

And Rush went after a goddamn private citizen, not a public figure, relentlessly, and called her a slut and a prostitute and made really creepy requests for sex-tape videos. Hope that never happens to your daughter if she tries to stand up for what she believes - whether you believe it or not.

If you rely on the likes of Rush for entertainment OR information, I feel really really sorry for you. But I'm just a fucking hypocrite.

Hey clueless - you can have all the sex you want (or none) and the cost for hormonal birth control is the same if you're taking it. And it can be pretty goddamn expensive (like almost all medications). AND it's commonly used for other medical problems, which is exactly what the example in her testimony was about - only her friend had to pay cash for it as a student because her insurance (which she pays for) wouldn't cover it because it's 'birth control' and her school is religion-based. The insurance company could care less about religious objections - it's just one less thing they have to pay for if they can get away with it.

What if your expensive medical condition wasn't covered because somebody else (not you) objected to it, even though you pay for your own insurance?

And how much more would your insurance cost if the costs for the prenatal care and infant care of massive numbers of unplanned pregnancies were factored in? Would you blame all that on women, too?

And insurance didn't pay for Rush's oxy habit - all his loyal listeners and advertising supporters did. If you listened to him, I'm sure he appreciates you helping support his habit.
