I laugh when people say that icmag is heavily censored... There's another site I have an account on that's so heavily censored and edited that it looks like a friggin' echo chamber (plus they are all batshit crazy over there). I'm not kidding. Posts that do not fall completely in line with the groupthink get flamed mercilessly by the admins/mods then get deleted within a few days, which leaves behind very little to read besides a small group of people participating in a verbal circle-jerk in almost every thread on the site.

I had my account there locked for asking a single one-sentence question about something that is in no way controversial or argumentative. The only reason I even still have an account there is that I like to keep tabs on what the local crazies are up to (it's a WA-based mmj site).

They drive off almost all new members then whine about low participation and wonder why nobody shows up to their rallies. It's one of the most hostile and heavily-censored forums I've ever encountered, and I've been online since Lynx was the only browser available.

Dunno if this thread is kosher, but....

I only visit one other Canna site. It's private and you need a friend inside to vouch for you. If someone gets vouched in and they fuck up, both could be subject to banned. Lots of old heads, and no kids ICM is my home though, i only moonlight over there sometimes.

Thats the one that is home for me.There is a difference tho,and that is that over there no seed sale are allowed,so there is no competition involved.It's more like a group of friends,and most have been around a long time.

Obviously cant mention other sites, but truth be told icmag is the better of the ones I have been on...more maturity, less kids, and more experienced growers on here.

As to the comment someone mentioned about censorship being too much, I totally agree, but as Im just a guest in this house I will abide by the rules.

Just google MJ forums, click into the link and see if there are any names you are familiar with.. There are some good ones out there and, for purposes of research, relying on just one site for all your info is kinda silly.. If IC truely prohibited techniques, ideas and information that started at another place, it would not be the giant it is today...

I've been on weedtracker since 2005, it's homey for me, got lotsa buddies there. Good place to network, we have regular MnG's & a nice supportive community going. I always use the same userid at all the canna sites I join.

As for other forums, IC is the best and in many ways just as good if not better than Overgrow. Gypsy has made this site very safe for users (which takes ALOT of time, experience, manpower, & money) where on most other forums the servers are hosted in the USA many at just commercial webhosts and you have next to zero security or privacy there like other people have already mentioned. I would suggest if people are going to explore anywhere else or actually post there make sure you don't use the same handle you do on IC and make a fake email addy to use there along with a proper web proxy if you take your security seriously whatosever. Icmag is one of the very few sites that let's you browse & post in https so if you are not already using this feature you need to be.

Hopefully smart security minded members here are loyal to a special place that has been loyal & helpful to the Cannabis community for so long and has gone to great lengths to make it as safe as possible in an unsafe world as Gypsy Nirvana always say's. Gypsy and his crew are time tested and have been at this for a very long time, even back on Overgrow when he ran seedsdirect.to that was the best and safest goto place for Cannabis seeds. Today's it's the Seedboutique and Seedbay and they are not perfect by any means but they damn sure try their best and they will always have my business and support.
