Considering the Omicron

Love the Omicron, just a small learning curve, but if you have used vaporizers before then you will get used to it quick. You can get phat clouds with the omicron, you just need to know how to use it. many methods on hitting it, and I bet most people that complain about it not hitting big hits, is they are just holding it down until the auto-shutoff kicks in at 7secs.

peep the omicron wiki and try the different techniques! http://www.vaporpedia.com/wiki/Omicron

Just got my omicron today. No replacement for a nail, but great for on the run. Taste is better near the beginning of the cartridge, and degrades slowly as you vape more oil. I presume terpenes degrade while the oil reservoir conducts some heat from the cartridge.

To get fat clouds: hold down for 5 seconds, release button for a second, and repeat while inhaling the whole time.

I think I have to high of a tolerance.

The Omni just does not cut it for me. I have to hit it for a long time and take like 20-50 hits to feel minor effects.

I can get huge clouds and choke my ass off. but not be knocked off my ass. Like you would think you would be off 50 BHO hits. lol
My skillet gets me knocked. (where is that thing)

I just got an atmos raw. loaded with bubble it gets me medicated more and faster than the Omni with BHO.

im feeling the exact same way.......i think my prob was i heated the bho too much trying to get it to melt and fill the cart. my bho bubbled as i heated it, no good.

once my cart is empty i will re-fill my cart using less heat to see if i get a better effect.

any tips on loading the cart?

The terpenes will boil off at lower temps than thc, so most of the "flavor" is consumed in the first few hits. I understand that they are working on a "nail" type cartridge that would offer another approach to this style of vapping.

I really want to like the omicron better than anything else, but idk. Thanks for the link zedd. Seen it before, but didnt understand exactly how it worked and didnt look at it very thoroughly. I emailed their support and asked a couple of Q's about the thermovape. And after watching the user review on utube, I think I'm sold on the thermovape revolution. Maybe just a little more research though before I pull the trigger. Thx to all for your input!

just got a thermovape revolution
gotta say i'm pretty damn impressed with it so far

seems like you need to get your extract on the atomizer/heating element for it to work best, not sure if the window enclosue is ideal for that. a top load seems ideal to me, but i've only been using it for a few hours.

and if you smoke a lot your gonna need prob a 2 or 3 sets of batteries handy at all times.

After owning the Omicron for a few days, I can confidently say that off the shelf e-cig components are just being combined and sold to us at a higher price. Do yourself a favor and purchase a REGULAR e-cig, and a 601-510 adapter if you wanna use your omicron cartridges. Alternatively, you can use ANY cartomizer that contains ceramic heating elements. It looks like the "manufacturer" of omicron removed the cotton swab and took off the end cap of the cartomizer and called it a new product. We all got played :thank you:

I'm purchasing a higher end 510 battery and using whatever cartomizers I like. Hell I might even get a Thermovape Revolution to screw onto it. Omicron & THC Scientific can go suck it :dance013:

My Omicron works well, get big hits and effects. Takes a little practice but I find myself starting to get real medicated on 6 hits. I have reasonably low tolerance. I'm not sure I'd want the hits I get off my Omicron to be bigger... also, seems like I'm better by far with it after a couple months of use. Battery seems to last a really long time.

Check out youtube for vids on filling.... I try to use as little heat as possible to melt concentrates into the cartridge. I think some kind of small glass test tube submerged in hot water that when liquified you pour into the cart would be smoother and possibly amount to less destructive heat.

Looks like you have to fill the thermovape often and it might be expensive.

The Thermovape Revolution can only take extracts, to do flowers you will need the Thermovape T1. You can get either the T1 249.99 + Revolution add on 84.97 for a total of $334.96
or
Revolution Kit 149.99 + Revolution to T1 adapter 174.99 for a total of $324.98
There are some user reviews here: http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?pid=192311#p192311
and a video review here: http://youtu.be/3PsizOhhu9Q

You'll need to load it more often than an M4 Carbine, it is recommended to load no more than 0.05 gram see: http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?pid=193592#p193592
The Omicron can be loaded with 20X more.
Thermovape Revolution does about 20-100 hits based on various user reports and the Omicron does at least 100 on a full charge.
Thermovape cartridge is 54.99 for one, Omicron cartridges are 50.00 for 5 or 10.00 for one, 5X less expensive for Omicron carts.

The 8 is an LCD, double cartridge, variable voltage add on top for the Persei. See: http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?pid=186628#p186628
You can adjust the voltage in 0.1volt increments from 3.7 - 7.4volts, it also tests the ohm rating of your cartridge so you know if it is kicking strong or starting to wear down, no more guessing." (Planetvape)

Just an FYI, so far I've only had to use two of my six carts, one for indicas, one for sativas. So far I've refilled one cart twice, one cart on its third fill(no more than half gram fills) and they are both working fine. I've had my Omicron for a few months now.

If you get an Omicron my advice is buy a single kit with maybe three cartridges depending on what kind of deal you find. I bought a double kit with six carts(5 +1 free) and haven't used the second Omicron at all, nor needed the other carts. It's nice to have the backups on carts because I read they do occasionally fail, or if my primary Omicron needs repair I've covered. But I'm not sure it's necessary.

Naturally THC Scientific would like me to toss a cart after every gram or so and reorder carts but I'm not sure that's necessary.

The big thing is making sure you have a supply of usable, high quality concentrates available. I live in Cali, so yeah. If I still lived in Florida I'd never have access to budders/waxes.

Thermovape and Omicron are totally different beasts. I own the Omicron and am a fan. I do think the product has room for improvement however. Thermovape has a ceramic heating element that is designed for small loads of oil at once.

The main problem with the Omicron is that the ceramic heating elements are submerged in your oil, constantly heating the entire grams or so of oil, and evaporating terpenoids. Considering that many of the effects from cannabis potentially lie in the terpenoids, I would like to retain as many of these as possible. I like my oil to be tasty, too. That's just me however ;)

zedd, i think you landed on my least favorite thing about the omi. a full gram of great oil tastes good till bout halfway down, then it taste like...burnt-nothing. i throw out alot of 25% filled carts because i get tired of the taste and want some fresh.
the few times i have reclaimed (upside down cart over parchment paper, heat with torch) everything that came out was BLACK. and it was GOLD when it went in. its like a hash oil crock pot.
i hope that the Persei will move through the oil much faster (7 volts, massive heaters) and i can load a quarter g at a time...finish it all in one or two sessions.

this is all new tech. cant wait to see what the next years bring to the market.

Let's just say I have a lil' something up my sleeves. I will follow up tomorrow with full modification details, since Omicron is nothing more than a cheapy chinese ecig.

have you tried loading carts with quarter of a gram or half a gram, bet those might be a good solution.

I smashed open an omicron cart today. Omicron is selling regular 510 e-cigs with CERAMIC CARTOMIZERS (their proprietary cartridges)

Do a little research before handing your money over

the trippy stik looks very promising, does the oil run out the mouthpiece if it is set down on its side after use?
Can you throw it in your pocket like the omicron?

looks like it is way easier to draw on it also and heats up faster...

The oil doesnt run out cause you load much smaller amounts since there is no cart and the oil is glue lol.. Yes I throw it my pocket also but mostly with only enough for like 5 massive rips.
