This was a sarcastic tone that I guess some simpleton couldn't decipher; I strongly believe that we (United States cititzens) are extremely consumeristic and thrive off of instant gratification. why all the selfing, outcrossing and backcrossing....
we know the parents of the gsc...
get a cherry pie cut and a relatively stable breeding og and let the pollen fly...
use a couple of different og sources if you really want to pin things down...
a little work, a little testing time, and a favorable outcome occurs, maybe something even better if you can devote some space to running numbers....

right around 100 pages and the big timers come in to discuss....lol.

just a tid bit, Ive been able to get the cherry pie cut since '08 from associates out in the Sunset D. I was growing in a Sloat and Junipero Serra location at the time..

My thought on the matter are that the Durban that was used was one of the three Durbans, from Jeremy the Clone Manager from Harborside. He had been working a BX then IX cross to a legendary durban he brought with him to Cali. They were being sold as clones Durban #6, Durban #9 and Durban # 12 @ harborside from -'09 thru '11.

And I know that the sunset group had there hands on these Durbans as early as '08.
The #12 was the best and most Durban leaning pheno from that project.

So when i stare at the pictures that members had posted of the GSC the leaves look to me very similar to the Durban #12 wide fat leaves during veg. Then in flower the blades get very long and narrow with a fat tip.

As to thinking that one can recreate a 3+ way hybrid and have any resemblance of predictability (Garrands the original population didn't), in reproducing a population resembling this clone to any degree, good luck with all that - it ain't happenin.

Self it, then go forward with the pedigree method, as outlined previously.

I have no issues with people passing seeds that may herm when it is known there is a risk and they aren't trying to make a quick buck doing it.
As for selling seeds like that professionally, they should be well tested before the breeder tries to sell the lot or at least make the risks fully transparent to the buyers. SOme of the nicest guys on IC are Europeans btw.

I bought some Sour Diesel seeds from DNA just to compare to my previous sour d's from resevoir and the result was pathetic and nothing even close to a true diesel. They use marketing hype to sell their strains. They have some good ones but the ones they are name playing on are not worth it.

I do believe the TRUE GSC cut in the proper breeders hands can be a good thing but unfortunately it sounds as though the money hungry breeders out there already have the cut in their hands. Guess we shall see. It's no worry to me cause I know better but its going to suck for those who buy them thinking they are going to get the true GSC. This whole deal sounds extremely familiar.....

fwiw i saw the cookies @ a club in hollyweed for $500 a zone, $280 half ....the saddest part is i was somewhat tempted to drive 2+ hrs and spend that kinda chip on a little head issue just to get a sneak preview. my gsc is goin into 12/12 on friday.

I find it interesting that this GSC thread has a different turmoil than other elite threads like the famous Chem D threads of days gone by.

Chem D was held by a connected group of people in the beginning and it was mostly flavored with "I have this. This is the best weed there is. You don't have this and will never have this". The only cuts or clones were in the hands of a select few with the hoarder code at full effect that they were not to be shared. People that didn't have them and wanted them became frustrated, disappointed or angry about not having them and never any chance of having them.

Plus there were no dispensaries so unless you knew somebody that was selling some you never would get to smoke it either so you could decide for yourself the hype was warranted.

This gsc thread is different because completely unconnected people have the real clone only gsc. They are saying we have it and you can't. It is more we found it. Many people can be lucky enough to be at the right dispensary at the right time and get some buds of the real clone only gsc and judge it for themselves. But still there is turmoil because there are more people who don't have access to it. This seems to have boiled the controversy in this thread down to is gsc really that good. Even if it is true some will not believe it or claim better. People need to get what they can and like what they grow and stop hatin.

Plus the gsc issue is now cluttered up with people growing seeds found in gsc, calling it gsc and hoping/expecting gsc buds when it is done. That just isn't going to happen.

If you went to a dispensary and they had gsc buds that you thought were fantastic and deserved the hype and pretty much knew they were the ones and also bought a clone that they said was gsc, then flowered and smoked that clone and it came out the same then you could be pretty sure you had gsc.

If you got a clone from someone you knew was reliable and always has been you probably have gsc. If you just picked it up at a club and never flowered it out then it is still up in the air.

I think the people that are confident they have the actual clone only cut of the real gsc should be able to just say gsc but need to clarify that it is GSC clone. The ones growing gsc seeds should call is GSC bagseed or GSC seedling.

The gsc don't seem to have the hoarder code attached to them. They are out there and seem to be able to be gotten hold of by resourceful people.

If you were in Cali in the epicenter of the gsc scene and ask somebody in the know who created GSC who would they give the credit too?

Back in the 2003 I had some amazing Durban(not sure where from), but the smell alone made my boy some good money. I believe the durban being passed around right now is a white widow cross. This however is 2nd hand information and I can't back it up.
