I must have missed something -this threads like trying to keep up with a speeding bullet. But, it seems we're being a little hard on the beaver Ward? It's not like seeds are pathogens, though seeded grass does usually go at a discounted rate. But here I have an ounce of hermied cookies, let's start the bidding at 1k. Think about it, it could give someone a head start and just the edge they need to win that race to GSC hack profits? hehe :D

Im running 72 in a 4x8 tray... My first run with the gsc is finished and hanging right now...so the gpw is currently unknown at the moment.

What is the grouch? havent heard that one yet!

The Grouch is probably the only OG cross out of the many many that have come thru my gardens that has found a permanent place in the menagerie. I also keep Fire OG. I'd love an SFV cut if the SFV I have had is indeed SFV (whatever SFV is exactly, i dunno)...

The cut probably comes from around Eureka originally and is some kinda OG crossed with something called Jolly Rancher. We're not too sure what JR is. The Grouch a filthily stinky OG with an overripe tropical fruit note. It yields better than Fire OG in big outdoor pots, black boxes and the indoor samples I have seen... and finishes in 56 days inside and Oct 5th outside.

All the buyers that know their OG, only deal in instantly credible OG and take all our Fire OG every harvest without bickering about the asking price also take the Grouch on the same terms.

Sorry. Cookies thread. I would have PMed that to you, but I need 20 or so more posts before they will let me.

Hahaha! Lets make it even easier! Ive got rooted cuttings! We can start the bidding at the same price ;-) No need to name 50 different phenos of the seeds the same as the cut, thats just confusing and becomes impossible to find the real cut!

Selfing "the original" only brings you to "most come out with OG Kush dominant smell and hermie like crazy". It would be a huge step forward to start out with an ounce of seeded cookies. Grow 100+ of those, set aside the best 5+, self the 5+, rank them based on how their progeny performs, then repeat, releasing seed from the one who's progeny scored highest. Come on man, keep up :D

I grew the Grouch OG this year it was Ok, more vigorous than most, but it's not something I would chose to work with, the ped has the same problems that the GSC has, it will segregate like mad, and it's not really worth it imo.

LoL... I have the cookie and its looking great...still a few more days before i jar her. But im really interested in those x18 beans...without getting too off topic, anywhere to find pics of her flowers besides racos cut? Its a beauty but i want to see more!

Bag seed doesnt scare me...in fact i love popping random seeds and seeing what i come up with. Just think that it shouldnt carry the same name as one of the parents...it makes tracking down the original mother impossible. Call it gsc s1 is fine but not gsc. I can tell you there are dispensaries selling gsc cuttings from bagseed that havent even flowered it out!!! No kidding.

Damn shame about this strain. Sounds like its going to get in the wrong hands and will be mass produced with something that isnt quite or close to the original. I am sure it will carry and outrageous $100++ price tag as well.

Real shame.....

Wrong hands? I cant wait to see crosses of this...Thinking about how nice this would be crossed with bubba kush! This will be mass produced for sure...but just hang on to that original mother if you can get her... But I imagine crosses will improve this one...

Tom...thank you sooo much for that link. Picking up two packs! Really hoping to find a really smelly one. Picking up two of x18 and a couple from dj, whitaker blues. Really looking forward to that x18

I think it could prove a fine example of the common rush to get seed to market cuzs people want it so bad. They wont even care if its tested...cuz they want it...and as Americans, they damn well deserve to have it. They will then support whoever gets it to them. Seems backwards. Folks can grow with bigger and bigger numbers these days, it seems we should be expecting higher plant numbers in breeders projects as well as more testing of the seedlots to be sold. Also, maybe we should be thinking twice about those who are in it for the quick cash.
At least with this thread, issues with the potential mom seem to be coming out early enough for consumers to make good choices in whom they will purchase seed from once available. Keep it coming, seems I can just hit refresh and there is already another post.:bump:

Whats your problem Tom? You seem a little heated over me saying we need more ethics in cannabis breeding now that it is becoming more accepted. Do you have a problem with that?

Lump, environmental factors. The fact is that many of these elites are so "bagseed of bagseed" (they've been selfed so many times) that they can no longer deal with a broad range of environments - you need to "dial them in" is the current parlance. But the fact of the matter is that they are as fickle as hell and would never pass testing like what for example corn goes through, thriving in a number of environments before release. Such are the times, but this is the pile of shit we have to work with.
