my big prob with coco or hydroton, is the fact you gotta rinse it...which isnt something i really have the time, place or patience for....but i have thought of the blumats before..then thought of all the spaghetti tubes everywhere on the floor....these are my only big probs with these mediums....

im the kinda guy who likes physical work(carrying in and out all the dirt) over monotonous time consuming things(trimming, rinsing coco.hydroton, flushing plants...ect)

The plumbing from feed and drainlines on RDWC are just as snaggletoothed and bumfuzzled as any loopfield I ever put together , and if yas step on pvc and crack it the system floods and instant 100`s of gals of juice go on the floor....

Hell....I got growbro`s at invite only med sites killin it with blumats and their own organic mix but the growth rates just aren`t as dramatic as coco , but they`re tickled shitless with the lack of maintenance needed till end of cycle....

Anyways....Good luck with whatever yas decide on Joe....I`m sure you`ll figure shit out as needed...

Peace....DHF....:ying:.....

Edit:...Hey Blaze....All I did was to use Rubbermaid cattle troughs full of "bio-barley" and tapwater to take the whole rootballs and trunk inside the smartpots and toss em in for a month or so and let the zymes eat all dead plant material.....

After that I`d yank what was left outta the fabric containers and toss all the medium/substrate on wiremesh racks ta dry out and then it`s recycle city come next run...

Just remix and replant....simple....babyshit....

yep, im right there with u Freds. my blumats are killing it at my 4K sourD and ChemD,(both ibls) 10 days of veg looked like a month. completely foolproof. you can run non-organics and enzymes through, when i did an organic run with them it was wateronly or hygrozyme only, all nutes were in the soil.

as far as it looking cluttered, as long as you get the extra 3mm brown tubing so each carrot has 18-24" of tubing, everything is super simple.

the plants grow so well, the medium stays at the PERFECT moisture level; never too wet, never drying out. just like in "in-ground" outdoor.

one thing to remember, if you grow sensitive strains like a ChemD or ECSD clone, then run the nutes at 2/3 strength. less sensitive strains can take full strength, just run plain water 2 days in a row at the end of every week.

hope this helps Joe. sick thread, i am in the middle of an 8K(4K flip-flopped) and your threads have been super inspiring.

First room: sourD, ChemD, superSkunk
Second room: Original Skunk#1, BB cheese, Blueberry, OGKush

Just got the pm Joe...I grew outside in dirt for over 12 yrs before the military took over aerial surveillance in my state and I hadta shut down .....then..

I ran krusty buckets for almost a decade and ebb and flow buckets inside for another 5 yrs before my old buckethead Bro Blue Haze talked me into tryin coco for my mom plants to give me more cuts for my ebb and flow buckets and I never looked back......

A dialed coco setup is as close to hydro growth as I ever had with NONE of the headaches , bells , and whistles a dialed fast hydro setup takes , so it`s really a no brainer ....especially since yas already do dirt , it would be an easy transition.....

Hell....yas could set em up in yer dirt....I`m just sayin....K.I.S.S rules my day for more me time and less plant time.....I mean fuck....you spend 5 hrs a day in your rooms.....

I went to each location once a week to tend 2 flip rooms a month or so apart in age and spent maybe 2 hrs at each of 4 separate locations and 8 rooms that all but ran themselves.....so....

8 hrs a week thereabouts with total dialed environment and feed automation for 8 rooms pumpin out 6 lbs every 4 1/2-5 weeks right behind each other made shit easy peasy for this old fart and a 1 man show since I only hadta trim X amount once a month......

Takes a lil more investment in equipment to run smaller flip rooms but they`re way easier to control environment and concentrate lumens for max nuggage IME....

Anyways.....Blumats FTW....guaranteed...Holler if I can help Bro....Love your style.....Class act.....

Peace....DHF....:ying:.....

Howdy joe. Looking mighty green up in this piece, sho nuff!! I get that same thing on my sativa-leaning LSDs. Looks terrible, but it doesn't seem to be keeping them from putting on weight.

Damn Joe .. Couple of those gals are reaching to touch the ceiling! lol Crazy broads!

The "ram horn" appearence could be due to watering .. I know from experience that certain sativa's dependant upon where they come from like a medium more moist or slightly more dry .. .. Not sure how "dry" they get between your waterings but I check my containers by weight and when they feel light and in need of a watering Ill hold off watering and they will keep perky leaves and good growth for the next few days then I give a slight watering

Just my thoughs

yeah those are the SLH...one of the phenos(the tall lanky one reaching for the cieling) are not wanting to bud and im on day 28...ive had this happen with SSH before and went 6 months 12/12 and they never flowered, so ifthat happens to these in the next 2-3 weeks if they have not flowered yet then i think i might cut them down and chuck themas for the leaf curl i have come down to2 things, either copper def, or lack of oxygen to the roots...

so now im starting week 5, and i see that things are really out of controle...ive gone and done it again...put too many damn plants in because i want to get the most possible, and this run i am dead broke, like ive been borrowing money to live on and buy ferts ect... for the last month and a half...so i wanted to get the most i could considering i no longer have a partner...but i put too much, no i have problems getting in there to water, and the humidity wont get under 70%....so far no problems other than i didnt have any ferts for 2weeks and the plants kinda yellowed out a bit, but they just got a nice dose on friday and plain water yesterday, and ar slowly starting to green back up....

the room with lights on is the room i dont show too often, and the one with lights off is the "double" room that i usually take pics of...as you can see some of the plants are yellowing, but its not too bad....

oh and this time its down to 13 lights...had som bulbs go bad and no money to replace....this time truley is the ghetto grow...lol

Looking good .. Damn day 28 and still nothing? Crazy .. But if you can remove them from the room and put them in darkness for a few days or in a separate room with a 10/14 light cycle to help them along .. Sometimes with equitorial strains they have to get below 12/12 to flower due to it staying right around 12/12 everyday all year long .. Its gotta be specific spectrum of light the sun gives off to help flower them out cause I had a jack herer clone outdoors finish in mid September but indoors it goes 11-12 weeks

well i cant tell.....but earlier my friend came to my house and as soon as he walked in the door he was like "damn smells good in here"...and i had not even smoked yet, lol

the smell is comming from my breeding room upstairs, which consists of a filter just scrubbing in the room and the door wide open for cooling, lol...i was poor this run, lol...so this is the reason why my house smells but i smoke all day in my house everyday so i would suspect that is rieks in my house on a daily, just not the same smell as smoking and growing, lol...good news is breeding room is comming down in 2-3 weeks at most...
