Good thread, krunchy. I am sorely tempted, but then again, if they can cancel or modify whatever the benefits of lifetime membership are - at their sole discretion - that doesn't speak well to me. With my luck I would buy the damn thing, get popped in a huge LEO raid SNAFU (again) and have to delete my membership altogether because I was - once again - radioactive. I'll think about it after we move and get settled into the new house.

That would be an excellent perk to put in...a "Secret Question" or password or something that if you had to delete your account for security reasons, that you could open a new one and keep your Membership-- Altho if you get banned...you are just ass out--

I've seen discussions where some folks here are leery of "lifetime" membership - prior obligations w/ the dvd and magazine subscriptions were an issue, and there were more than a few paid in full members that didn't get the balance of their owed product.

I understand that things "change", but dropping some sizable cash on expectation of a guaranteed time frame, when those terms can be changed, modified or discontinued w/o prior notice or customer agreement would to me be problematic.

IMHO the Server Fund should be sufficient source of income for this sites members to bear - even a cursory look at the volume of donated product being sold indicates a more than comfortable revenue to accommodate the myriad of services provided here.

Plse, I'm not hating or slandering GN, IC or the very generous offer that KB has made - just pointing out that the "subscription" issue has more than one side to consider...

ICMag is a giant money maker for see bo/seed bay, i'd never pay a dime. Maybe if Icmag wasn't the most censored site on the net while gypie says its a free resource for everybody to use... yeah as long as you only use gear that can be obtained from gypsie...

First of all, I don't agree with the "most censored on the net" comment. You must not be a member on other sites..... Just for an experiment I started an account at two other sites and intentionally told people about vendors seeds they didn't carry. I got banned quick both times.

Secondly, tell you what. Why don't you start a site, pay for the servers, hire a full time webmaster, pay the bandwidth and the other fees and wait years to get a hundred thousand members. Also, don't forget the employees pay. After you do that, contact me so I can come and spam all kinds of shit for free. I'd love that. See how long that lasts, LMAO.....
