online shops

I don't know what B&M stands for but here are some of my favorite online shops:

  1. Valley Indoor
  2. Progressive growth
  3. Canadian wholesale hydro
  4. Bustan
  5. Jons plant factory
  6. Pacific northwest garden supply
All in Canada and fast shipping. If you like some cheap stuff from the states BGhydro is a great place to shop. :)

Hope this was helpful.

I cant say much for online purchases but I would get to know the shop owner/manager. If I don't like you I you wont be seeing any of my business.

I prefer online. Progressive offers free shipping on large orders.
Valley indoor, is so far a drive the shipping cost is cheaper than gas driving out.

I have gone to several bricks and mortar stores, and dont really like it.

THe guys at PNG wont even let you look around, they follow you around like you are going to steal. Of course no prices on anything, you only find out once you get to the counter, and hope they liked you, cause I have bought the same item (coco coir) off them, the price on 10 bags has varied from $190-$230 depending on who was at the cashier.

They also tried to sell me a $50 digital scale for $200.
Know your prices before entering an B+M store

I don't know what B&M stands for...

B&M = Brick & Mortar (a physical store - not an online seller).

I always prefer going into the stores. There are always more items to see in person and the staff are usually really knowledgeable.

Progressive Growth and Jon's Plant Factory are my 2 faves.

I would imagine you guys don't order soil online. Thats where the B&M would come in handy. But what do you guys order for your hydro grows. I know there is a lot of people who swear by this or that brand but I want to go with something I could get in Canada. Also if it is organic that would be a huge bonus.

I've heard of people going to farm supply/feed shops and getting rice husk/peat mix for super cheap. I don't know where you live but maybe that could be worth a look. I heard its an awesome alternative to peat /perlite and at a fraction of the cost.

awesome! thanks for filling me in on the once unknown acronym. I agree that a physical store is 200% better. :) Friends in shops are priceless.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

While I have you guys, been looking at moving to BC. I love Victoria but seems $$ so I was looking around at areas. Burnaby and Richmond seem ok but you pay a lot for a house and some areas are hit or miss. But I stumbled upon reading and pictures of North Van, North Van District and West Vancouver. WOW!!!! They seem nice, North Vancouver city seems like it would be the place to go if you work in downtown but want to live in a highrise or condo?
North Van District seems like housing potential with stellar views? Can someone tell me how true this is, or good places to live in BC. I would love to find a career out there.

p.s. If you know of any jobs (salaried) for a young professional let me know. I have wanted to move to BC for 10 years or so but can't do it unless I have something lined up obviously.

i agree - i go in person. shipping and handling is an issue waiting to happen, what if it's defective. i like a B&M store so i can go throw the gear at them when gear is found to be /wrong size/defective or generally not satisfied! :cuss: LOLOL j/k.....

Stores can be the opposite to the stress i joke about above.... if you get to know a reputable Hydro Supplier they may have excellent tech support and give you good ideas at problem solving...... :2cents:
