The sticky icky

The sticky icky

Let me introduce you to the newest Strawberry Alien Kush. I guess I will call her Strawberry 2. She smells less like strawberries/cherries so she might be the alien pheno. All I know is that it is covered in trichomes.

This photo blew my mind. As a new grower I have never seen this before. It's probably pretty normal, but I enjoyed it. The plant looks like it is Oozinn' resin. Absolutely beautiful.

Enjoy!

:artist:

PS GreenSupreme was nice enough to point out that they're ruptured disc cells. Most likely caused by the disc cells coming in contact with each other. pretty cool. thanks everyone for your input always!

new mystery clones

new mystery clones

This post will be introducing my new little girls. I have a bunch of mystery clones from a friend who need a new home for these girls and I was happy to volunteer.

look forward to my future posts when I try and figure out what type of mystery strains I have. All I know is that the farmer said I had something special. lucky me and even more lucky of of mine. I'm starting to love growing from clone but growing from seed will always have a spot in my heart.

much love... respect to everyone!

Grandaddy Haze Smoke Report

Grandaddy Haze Smoke Report

Well the GH's are finely dried and have been chillin' for the last couple weeks.

Name: Grandaddy Haze - Lavender Pheno
Genetics: GDP X SSSDH

From: Conn Genn - by Chief Bigsmoke report by Mrs.chief

Type: Hybrid (Indica Dominant)

Looks: A semi-dense structure. Each flower is bright light green and has lavender hues running throughout. Its almost hard to see the flower because its entire surface is covered with resin glands. very pretty.

Smell: This is the best part of this strain. You can hold a nug under my nose and just drift away... There is a soft lavender skunk smell when you just smell the bud but as soon as you crack it open you get a strong lavender/cedar/piney/skunk smell. It has more of a fresh spring flower smell than a sweet candy. A very complex smell.

Taste: Smooth and soft. It almost tastes exactly how it smells, but the taste is a lot more subtle. The lavender is slightly noticeable and there is light spicy incense taste. Very clean tasting. Light years better tasting than commercial synthetic fert nugs. The taste is even more complex than the smell.

Buzz Type: A hybrid effect for sure. My gf described it as a very soft body buzz leading to a comfortable state of well being. She found that it helped her eat and it was very effective for her after meal treatment to ease any cramps etc. A nice smoke for the day because it wasn't over-powering. You can smoke it and pretty much do anything. I bet it would make a very nice eatable.

Buzz Length: Medium-long - The buzz was soft but held on for at least 1.5-2 hrs.

OVERALL: This was a great smoke and I am happy I had the pleasure to grow it. Thanks to Conn gen for making these great seeds.

MMM MMM MMM the MK's are done...

This clone was one that I found here in BC. It is a winner for sure. Please enjoy our smoke report. My gf has a hard job of testing the MK's and the Grandaddy Hazes this week.. poor girl... haha

:tree::tree::tree::tree::tree: :tree:

Name: MK ULTRA
Genetics: G13 x LA OG

From: by Chief Bigsmoke report by mrs.chief

Type: Hybrid (Indica Dominant)

Looks: Frosty popcorn sized nugs that sparkle in the light. I loved just staring at these nugs.

Smell: These little gems just reak like an og on steriods. The smell reminds me of the piney tahoe og crossed with the lemon larry og. These nugs are bound for glass jars because there is noway a plastic bag can contain the smell. A very pleasant FRESH og smell.

Taste: Very smooth og super fuel. With notes of pine and lemon and a nice expansive inhale. The exhale was smooth and the og taste lingers on the tip of your tongue. mmm delicious.

Buzz Type: A typical og stimulating buzz that immediately energizes you and leaves you with a very positive feeling. I bet this strain would be amazing for anyone with depression problems or anyone who would want a nice daytime smoke. My gf did mention a nice couchlock phase as well. I have an assumption that this would be kller gaming erb. She noticed an appetite increase and a slight body buzz as well.

Buzz Length: Long - 1.5-2.5 hrs. stimulating and energizing moving to a comfortable stone feeling. smooth and unnoticeable comedown.

OVERALL: This strain was awesome. anyone who likes a classic og taste would love this strain. It could have yielded more but its a strain for quality over quantity.
:peacock:
ENJOY!

nice grow you have.

how much of a difference did that soundproofing make? I am toying with the idea of muffling my fans. my room hums to the point that you can hear it throughout the house. the soundproofing looks like it would be a less labor intensive approach.

Thanks BattleAxe! My landlord has an office right next door and they say they cannot hear a single thing. Its hard to know exactly how much it helped but I had a bare room and it echoed like a bitch. After I added some half walls and tried to eliminate as many deep corners as I could, I placed the foam over the trouble points or areas around high vibration. I only spent $120 on the sound foam and overall it seems to have really reduced the overall noise. Plus it looks cool and if you need a jam room then you can jam with your plants. :)

Strawberry Alien Kush

Strawberry Alien Kush

Here are some shots of my lone Strawberry Alien Kush. She is the only girl in flower while she waits for her new sisters to grow some roots and join her.

This SAK must be the alien pheno because it smells more kushy/Incensy. Compared to the strawberry pheno that finished this week that I'll have photos and a smoke report from Mrs chief soon. As Granadian mentioned: she has a job ;) As she gets more experienced her smoke reports will get better and better as well.

ENJOY!

I know whats on my Christmas list in the next decade... :p I just wish they made a smaller unit.

Here is some product info:
Biowave is a revolutionary patent pending machine that increases plant yields by an average of 20 %. It operates by creating a subsonic harmonic wave that radiates out from the machine and makes plants breathe better. Biowave has been tested on the farm, in greenhouses, and in hydroponic growing facilities, and all tests confirm the gain in yield as well as a 55% gain in total dissolved solids. Many growers also have reported a huge reduction in insect loads. Current tests by Dr. Lynette Morgan in New Zealand have further confirmed the above results in greenhouse tomatoes. Biowave offers a three year limited manufacturer's warranty on parts and labor.

Dimensions: 34.5" x 12" x 12"
Wattage: 60W
Operating Voltage: 110v or 240v
Product Weight: 49 lbs

Oh and I want want of these... I may be inspired to make my own brewer. This one just looks to awesome. If only I were rich. :p

Product Info:

The Vortex Brewer is unlike any compost tea brewing system on the market.

There is no water pump involved in the circulation. The unit operates entirely by an influx of air. The Vortex Brewer creates its own dynamic vortex flow of water.

Water naturally flows in a vortex, such as when a river meanders through the countryside, or a wave rolls onto the beach, or a spring rushes up from an underground aquifer, or a raindrop spirals as it falls to the earth. A whirlpool would be the most dramatic, visual example.

All those natural processes create what is called "living water". Water becomes alive when the vortex pulls into it the Earths subtle and powerful life energy forces.

We have all experienced living water at one time or another, such as when we drink from a fresh, bubbling creek, or bathe in a natural healing mineral spring, or dance in a spring rain shower, or stand in the ocean as the rolling waves crashed into our bodies.

We feel invigorated and alive. The same process works in the Vortex Brewer.

By allowing water to flow in this naturally created vortex motion the Vortex Brewer is able to enliven the vibrational energies manifest in our powerful, proprietary compost tea formulations...

Creating Living Compost Tea!

This natural process is the backbone behind the concepts of living water, water memory, biodynamic agriculture and homeopathic medicine.

With the Vortex Brewer, "We don't make a vortex, we allow it!"

The Vortex Brewer offers an entirely new level of compost tea; you've never experienced anything like this in your garden or farm before...guaranteed!

The Vortex Brewer is a revolution in compost tea brewing.

It is simple, yet extraordinarily profound. Crafted with food grade components, it can be used to create living compost tea solutions, as a mixing machine for hydroponic & gardening nutrient solutions, or even for re-vitalizing drinking water.

worm factory please

worm factory please

last but not least the one thing that would make the perfect addition to my room would be...

wormFactory.jpg

Product Info:
Worm Factory ®

Additional Info

Convert Kitchen Waste into Nutrient Rich Compost

Organic Worm composting is an incredibly efficient way to convert kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich compost for your garden. But sorting out the undigested scraps can be messy and inconvenient. The Worm Factory ® automatically separates food scraps from finished compost. Simply fill the bottom tray with red worms, bedding and food scraps. As the worms finish digesting, they will migrate upward into the tray above, leaving rich castings behind.

I've decided to discontinue my use of the Airpot II's for a cycle or more. Reason being, at the end of my last cycle right before I harvested my Strawberry Alien Kushes I had some fungus gnats move in and holy muck was it hard to control them when there are a ton of holes everywhere. Giving the little critters lots of opportunity to infest my lovely soil...

attachment.php

Luckily this happened in between cycles and I have been able to toss all the soil and pots infected and I have cleaned/sanitized the growing space. I think this round I'm going to scale down to regular 1-2 gallon pots. Just in case the lil' bastards show up again I'll have a small chance at controlling them.

Happy Growing!

DIY Tea Brewing Kit

DIY Tea Brewing Kit

Today I took the next step in the evolution of our growroom and designed our own tea brewing kit.

$20 DIY Tea Brewing Kit
Supplies bought from local pet food store:

- Reclaimed container *sanitized
- Air pump
- Airline tubing
- Air stone
- Tea brewing bag
- A Canadians best friend: Duct tape

Steps

  1. Clean everything
  2. Attach pump pieces * don't plug in yet
  3. Pour unchlorinated water into container. I use Reverse Osmosis water only.
  4. Place the airstone end of the pump assembly into the bottom of the container. I had to attach a little metal piece to weigh down the airstone. Keeping it in place at the bottom of the container. Make sure you don't restrict the airflow if you have to attach anything to your airline hosing.
  5. Plug in Air pump assembly
  6. Add any desired fertilizers to the unchlorinated aerated RO water. I added 1 tbsp of General Organics Bio-thrive vegan Bloom 2-4-4, 2 tbsp of GO's Bio Root 1-1-1, and 1 tbsp of ZHO root innoculant.
  7. Fill the tea brewing bag with 1.5 cups of Earthworm castings and 4 tbsp of dried Kelp Meal.
  8. Attach the brewing bag to the duct tape and drop the bag below the waters surface. I tried to place the bag over the airstone.
  9. Leave for 24-48 hrs. Use a clean wisk or a clean spoon to stir the "poop" soup. 4 times clockwise, then 4 times counter clockwise. *this is a great time to share some of your positive thoughts and prays to your plants as the the bio-dynamic process kicks into overdrive...

I'll keep everyone in the loop with my progress... happy growing everybody!
