Colorado Growers Thread

it would be nice to score some clones at a dispensory.

I can't speak for the rest of the state
but I have seen nothing but touble with my friends who do that here in the Fort

mites and dry mould are the big problems

every one of my firends has had to empty their room
and clean it top to bottom then get clean clones from me

then I thought them how to cut their own clones
and they are up and running with no worries

be careful

I only rock two flavors (LSD and Dutch Dragon) and would love to add some new ones
but having a self contained clean room is more important to me

I don't trust most dispensary clones to be what they are labeled as, and to be problem free.

best solution I've found is to locate and befriend other growers to collect cuttings directly from their gardens and root them myself.

I clone my own with this little jewel I built.

As far as bringing new cuts in I always dip them in fungicide/insecitide before bringing them into my grow...can't be too careful IMO.

The more I hear about dispensorys the more I think I'll just keep flying under the radar and avoid those places. I just recently moved to Colorado and I'm new to medcards and dispensorys, so excuse my ignorance. I've got lots of good seeds on hand and I brought one really good SSH mom with me but I trashed all my moms before I moved....anyway...

Have a good week everyone and keep it safe.

Getting pretty stoked on this, started to bud up nice and throw on some trichs.

got the filter hooked up and added a vert 600 for the backside of the grow.

Cant wait for next round, learned a lot from this one already

Ya I know some could have their WB adjusted but whatever.....IM too busy for that ahahah

hey canni, that powerkush is amazing. big leaves are ok but i never saw hair like that. nice job!

Thanks man, I hope you were looking at the right pic tho. The first pic is a hairy beast, that's "Rodney"

The second pic is the Power Kush,... she's the "prettiest" of the buds, all kinds of frosty, but also the smallest at around 1/3 of what the AK-47 (last pic) is producing for me. :tiphat:

Here's a little peak at a Flo cut I got from CDS. Smallest bud sites out of 6 strains I'm running at the moment but also has the most trichome production @ 3~ weeks.

I just moved to the Pueblo area and I am forced to grow with tap water. Today I tested the water...PH-7.8 and EC-740! The local grow shop said I was spot on and the water changed very little year round.

Obviously I need to invest in a quality water filtration system and I am looking for suggestions. I would like to know what some of you out there use to combat similar problems. I have always had a good well to water from and have never had to deal with this problem.

My needs are fairly small. At most I may use up to 20 gallons per day.Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm still shocked at how many Colorado Growers don't know about the Gun owning issue.

I for one think it is out of control, and I will NEVER give up my 2nd amendment rights.

When I was visiting my doctor for my renewal I told him I felt sick to my stomach that I was signing over my 2nd amendment Rights by getting my Medical Card...

He had NO clue.

I Personally own firearms, live way out in the country and will not consider giving them up. I really hope I never have to deal with it, but sometimes you just have to stand up to what is wrong and say FUCK THAT SHIT MAN.

Oh... and on a lighter note :)

Here is a Colorado Grown C99 day 35 :)

you don't have to get too extreme to solve your city water problem. for less than $100 you can go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a whirlpool in line filter that will bring your ppms from 250-300 down to less than 70. the filter eliment will have to be replaced every 90 days at your rate of usage. when buying your replacement filters, make sure you dont get any that restrict flow too much. they do vary. ph down will solve your other problem.

A lowes filter would be fine with me I suppose. The local grow store recommended a RO system they sell for about $200. As for the PH down I read somewhere PH down was harmful to beneficial bacteria. I grow in organic soil and don't wanna harm the herd but I guess I'll have to try and find a happy medium. I picked up some PH down today so I could see how much it would take per gallon to bring the PH into an acceptable range.

I go with this http://www.hydroponics.net/i/135446

I use citric acid to lower ph of water with my organic soil.

W:wave:rks great.

Bug Tex, DO NOT buy and RO system. First off if you are growing organic, I HIGHLY doubt that your H20 quality will matter all that much. Second why would someone want to strip their water of ALL the minerals only to have to add them back in. The only thing you might be concerned about is chlorine/chloramine removal. ebay has 2 stage 5 micron and carbon filter for less than $75 shipped. Will reduce your ppm to around 70. Besides RO systems waste more than 50% of water you are actually using. We don't even use filters anymore for our hydro and I don't use for coco. Our water is only about 100ppm though.
Citric acid is the way to go as far as cost effective and natural means of lowering pH. Hope this helps and welcome to the state bro.
Spunion that FLo is real nice.

It does. End of story.

You may not be sensitive enough to notice but the labs and I do. The filtration system you describe that drops it to 50 should be enough, personally I prefer R/O as I've run into too many areas with biologicals that standard filters don't reliably keep out.

R/O or the system you describe should be sufficient. Personally, after 10 years of doing hydro with nothing but R/O... can't see why anyone would do anything less. The waste water goes on my lawn.

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:

I agree with the above for organic soil. RO is better for hydro, but hydro isn't preferable to soil anyway, IMO.

Also, don't worry about the water pH of 7.8. If you're growing organically, your nutes will probably lower the pH several points anyway. If you use a peat/lime based soil it is a non-issue. If you're using a non-peat based grow media, I'd recommend changing your media to something peat based.

I got a GE whole house sediment and activated carbon filter for under $100 at Home Depot. Very easy to install yourself, especially if you use shark bite plumbing fittings that don't require soldering. It also makes it so your house's water supply is dechlorinated, which is great for drinking, showering, etc...

With organics in coco or soil, the PH really doesn't matter. I never test unless I'm using chemical nutes.

It just works.
