Yep, and federal weapons charges are usually not eligible for parol or early release. If you get convicted, you can expect to do 100% of the time and will never be allowed to possess a firearm or ammunition again.
There is no legal possession of firearms when committing a crime.
You may get out of the drug charges in a plea, but the weapons charge normally is set in stone unless you have one hell of a lawyer.

But you would have to be busted by the Feds, in order for it to be Federal....unless you had enough to get you on Gun Running...or interstate something-- Also, if they plea you out, it will depend on your deal...they can also drop the weapons charges...and often do, if it is apparent that it was a small personal grow, and the guns were not assault rifles and shit..and were locked in a safe-- :tiphat:

I have a few.. Some where passed down from my dad and I bought 1. Med states might be different then none med states. I have all my firearms locked in a safe. I dont think I would have an issue here in Cali... when they see the meds I take and how sick I am they would most likely leave me in peace...I have no record. I flower 6 every 4 months...

they dont care if it is in a safe or under your pillow. loaded or unloaded. if it is in the house with your herb you are going to jail. possession of a fierarm in the commissioning of a felony.

Anybody know if the cops would have access to any kind of gun registry database?

Do they bother investigating what firearms a person might have before the do the raid?

What do they do when they don't find guns, specifically "assault rifle" type guns that they know the person owns?

Legal or not, guns are still illegal they just had some big announcement about this not long ago how even medical cannabis growers & patients were still violating federal law and would be subject to enhanced penalties. If you value your freedom don't have guns with your grow take my advice on that one. And guns locked in a safe far away from ammo don't do you any good anyways so why risk it? Make sense ya'll? :joint:

There are many alternatives to guns so just use your imagination. Bear mace comes to mind that is some wicked shit. If you do get arrested for any drug related charges even if you are not growing 9 times out of 10 if there is a firearm present they will charge you with the enhancement which many times has a penalty worse than the drug charge itself. There is thread and thread around here about keeping the fucking guns away from your grow show it's just the way it is right now. Much love keep it safe. :canabis:

Is it a bad idea? YES!!!

Are you gonna get 5 years for your 4kw grow in cali and having a legally licensed gun on scene? Probably not.

The feds have to step in, the feds only step in when serious money is involved or violence. If you are growing in the "right" spot you wont need a gun there.

I don't own any guns, and for me that works. But, I feel like we are small business owners, and just like a jewelry store, liquor store, convenience store, bar, hair salon, etc.......so if a grower chooses to arm himself, to protect his business, I see no harm in that.

i got caught with a few guns, a scale, 24 plants, a few lbs, and i got 1 year probation. this is in a very non weed friendly south eastern state. to be honest, i dont think not having them would have got me anything lesser. but i did get a good attorney.
even got the guns back, just had to have somebody else pick them up:)
they did steal a sweet benchmade automatic blade though, and a few other things from my house:(

what if the guns are all disassembled? does it still count as a gun?

Yea as far as I know.

I think it's typically whatever part of the gun that houses the trigger assembly is considered a firearm.

For instance on AR style guns only the lower receiver is considered a firearm.

so you want to grow pot, but you want a gun?

seems like your missing the point of growing / smoking

"even something like a 22 caliber rifle used for hunting small game"
"I want to get a gun, either a 22 or a shotgun for personal home defense"

so what is it, hunting game or humans?

I'm confused, once again

your confusion is evident in your remark.
no one advocated hunting humans...there is simply no season on them, besides only some are worthy of eatng.

spread your confusion (and distaste) is some other area of this forum and leave firearms up to the big boys.:moon:
