But choose well among the siblings.... Even Soma himself had is NYCD S1. I tried those seeds already, but the exact genetic combination is difficult to achieve also this way. I had 5 germed and they lacked in hybrid vigour a bit, but the retro-taste was really close, but not that one exactly. But I'm really snob at it now...
Now I have 10 more to try, and see what's going on with ths line. (Soma used STS on his clone which is the rage in amsterdam)...
SPG is gonna be the real grapefruit deal.
Almost all grapefuity lines have it as parents (grapefruit, Swtooth, island sweet skunk....)
I have a few SPG S1 to try with NYCD S1. (tnx Dimodz!
)Anyway a regular line attempt has been already made by next generation seeds with their Grapefruit diesel (NYCD male regular crossed with grapefruit, that should be SPG in the end...)
Those have a really naughty sweet grapefruit smell.
I have a male of those to be crossed with nycd regular.
MY SPG and sweet tooth journey is about to begin.
I'll follow with interest the end choice of this thread...
With all ICmag members we will have it in a regular pure seed form one day!

Nice work Hortilab, SPG BX sounds good.....were you also working on a SPG S1? I thought I heard that a while back.

I have tried to coax the grapefruit out of a c99 female but can't get it to stick on any outcross so far. I loved the smell of that girl but she is gone now before I realized I wouldn't see it again in her offspring.
That's cuz C99 has no Grapefruit in her. Peace GS

As you probably know, I have grown and smoked a great number of varieties over my career, and the one flavor I have been dreaming about is true grapefruit. C99 has a nice, fruity, somewhat pineappley flavor, but after knowing the true ruby red grapefruit candy smell I experienced in an SPG cross once, I know no c99 that has ever come close to the grapefruit smell I am after.

Some of us have been growing her for 15 + years... take her at 65 days after 3 weeks flush, and you'll be a giggly little camper.
The real deal SPG is going to prove difficult to make S1's of... she doesn't want to let the pollen fly when reversed. I've crossed her with many different lines to create a wide pool for further line-breeding, and IMHO the GFxBB is one of better GF hybrids I've made, and will give ANY GF line a run for her money. I personally think SPG Bx's are not the way to go, and have been done to death. It is a poor breeding strategy for highly heterozygous clones like the SPG. The BB offers just the right amount of colour, flavour, and sweetness to the mix and you get the F1 vigour and none of the problems with auto-flowering that you'll find in GF BX lines.
C99 is a weak comparison of the GF... the smell is simply not there compared to the BC original.

Dude, you got the genetics wrong on that. I'm sure it smells quite lovely and I'd love to have some myself, but Glo is not SPG x SPG, which several people have mentioned to you in different threads

And just to round out the trilogy of incorrectness, the glo seeds were made by the cannabis cowboy, not Koots.
Glo = GF x Flo, a half-sib to our GFxBB. (closer than a half sib really, given the Flo and BB used were in fact half sibs.
Koots has nothing to do with SOL any longer- he now runs his own ship, Deluxe Seeds. I'm sure we'll see some interesting things from him over the next few years.
Nice GF trees GS. I'm anxious to taste your well flushed product... she just gets sweeter and sweeter when she isn't packed full o' salts.

Much love to all the SPG fans here, she is truly the one that unites many of us however far apart we may be. 
I still think Breeder Steve did a hell of a good job fixing the SPG traits in the Swt lines with all the backcrossing and they don't all autoflower when rootbound. At least in the #4 it's not very pronounced and they are extremely frosty with very good potency & a nice dank grapefruity sour citrus rind aroma with sweet sugar overtones. I have smoked the pure SPG and grown her before from clone years back and I can honestly say many of the Swt #4 IBL plants are coming out superior to her with far better structure and flower faster as well. A little different of course because of the oldschool BB genetics mixed in which are a welcome addition as Chimera pointed out but nonetheless some really awesome grapefruity goodness can surely be found right here on ICM if you know where to look!

I can assure you of some frosty chunky grapefruity goodness from these quality & expertly grown seeds courtesy of westg! Chimera im just curious what you mean when you say koot has nothing to do with spice of life anymore? he said previously that he's trying to bring back spice of life strains and keep them going and he also said any projects that get released has to be approved by breeder steve himself. im also taking a guess saying that steve will inspect the final products before there released but im not sure. koot is releasing swt 3 in a month or so. wouldnt you consider that still being with spice of life and keeping the company going?
