SCROG advice needed please.

Was just up there watering and checking and I thought "fook it I will turn up the ballast to overdrive" as only 2 weeks left and why have something that I dont use, just hope the room can cope with the additional 100 watt temp. I was also advised by pg that they had spoken to the manufacture's off the adjusta-watt ballast and a 1000 watt bulb can be dimmed to 400 watt and also increased to 1100 and still go the normal 3 grows on 12/12 so I am happy with that.

SHould be fine with the xtra 100watts bro, I added an extra 600 for the last few weeks on some girls and one of the OG Kush started to bolt/regrow think it was in the hotspot though, another started to bleach, think it was a combo of lights being a lil low and hotspot. I'm sure 100w will not cause any of such issues mate.

Well today I have noticed running that extra 100 watts is tripping the main circuit breaker every couple of hours which is driving me mad lol so might flip it back, or fit a separate circuit breaker for the grow room? but don't know where to begin with that, anyone an electrician ?

Results of the mighty wash PM stuff is I am glad it was free as did not work at all. I will be making a mix of baking soda and milk as have read good thing and as in week 7 of flower don't want to use any chemicals, and the PMT is a preventative not a cure so no good.

i wouldnt use the milk mate not in flower its gunna leave a residue of milk on your buds and i reckon it wouldnt taste too good do you have any ph up mate the baking powder is used to up the ph as pm dont like that be careful with baking soda i burnt some of my plants with it its a real pain in flower mate not much you can do

give the p.m.t a try mate that stops it from spreading but doesnt kill it i would spray first then remove some of the worst leaves better to remove them when wet or when ya pull leaf off it spreads like talc which would make things worse

a feel for ya mate its not nice at all

when this grow is done mate break out the dettol and jeyes fluid and give your room,lights everything a good going over when youve done that and you think its done do it again

hang and dry your plants there too you dont wanna be carrying pm everywhere in the house

forgot to ask have you totalled up your load the adjustawatt is 4.42 amp on overdrive has it stopped tripping since you turned it down mate?

this grow is in the loft isnt it how are you powering it?

The only cure for pm is systemics, which you'll not want to be using now in flower.

All other homeopathic remedies, milk, bicarbonate, ph up will perhaps stall the pm for a few hours but that is it! In reality you'll probably make things worse by adding more rh into the climate and increase potential for bud rot.

Ime, the only thing you can use is pmt. in that it WILL keep it at bay and prevent it from spreading, IT IS totally safe to use even on day of harvest. But importantly it will also prevent bud rot which is the most important factor when you are in such a late stage of flower.

Wait till lights out. Spray the worst effected leafs first and remove. Then cover the plants. Do not be scared of getting the buds wet but I would avoid directly spraying them unless they them selves are effected.

I would repeat every 3-5 days. I had pm outbreak a while back at day 48 and kept it at bay and didn't loose a single bud to pm by using this technique. And it was a fair outbreak.

this late into flowering you should just ride it out, wipe as many leaves as you can with a soft damp cloth or kitchen rool and try and keep ontop of it. when you have harvested blech EVERYTHING!! and have a proper clean up

pm sucks ....had the same problem at about week 7 with the last grow,took out the one's with visible mould and treated with water/milk at 9/1 and that seemed to clear up.........but I lost those plants eventually..
decided to crop early and give the whole kit a damn good steam clean....bleached all equipment etc and so far no return...but I had bud rot as well as pm,thrips and fungus gnats...and other stuff to deal with

Thanks for the replies and advice guy's I luckily only have a small infection and as only a week left I will ride it out as it was mostly on the larger fan leaves which I removed anyway.

End of week 7 update

End of week 7 update

Well 1 week to go for these ladies Which I am happy about due to having Powdery Mildew, but after reading a few bits and pieces on the net as well as listening to you guys, I decided to make up some solution using PH up and plain water, I put 3 litres of water in the sprayer added 2.5ml of PH up and the water had a PH 11 afterwards, I sprayed all over the buds and plants both above and below the canopy with lights on so I could see the PM, I then turned the lights and extraction off, and ran my Dehumidifier on dry overnight. Checked the next day and no PM and no ill effect to buds or plants, and normality has resumed. I am so happy Also I am happy that temps and humidity are remaining stable and temps with extra 100 watts has only made room 27c lights on and 19c lights out with oil radiator

Cheers mate, I hope that as there is only 1 week left with the dehumidifier keeping RH at 40% it should be ok I also washed the walls and equipment down with Dettol spray and a cloth
