The next scrog will be with Lady G1 x Sour Diesel IBL.

I took 2 cuts from a plant that was recently put into flower and one reverted to normal growth fairly quickly, the other didn't. Unfortunately the one that didn't is the one I want to use for the scrog because it's branchier.

Here's the cut I will be using

Lady G1 x SD IBL

33 days after transplant of rooted clones to 3" pot, 12 days after transplant from 3" pot to 6" pot

Silly girl is having a hard time putting out normal growth.

By comparison, here is the 2nd clone that I'm not running in the scrog. This cut was taken at the same time as the above cut from the same plant.

Lady G1 x SD IBL

33 days after transplant of rooted clones to 3" pot. She did not get transplanted from 3" pot to 6" pot.

Gonna let the first girl grow for a bit longer in the 6" pot then transplant her to a goldfish box to be vegged in the cfl scrog cab.

One question maestro: what are the specs of the grow space you use to pre-veg those cuttings and what kind of light does they get ? Do you fed them with nutes or just plain water ?
It seems the cuttings have grown slowly (actually I have some cuttings taken in August this year that look exactly like yours - but this is my intention, to slow their growth as much as possible to use them for the next year outdoor as mother plants) and they have been in the flowering for at least a couple of weeks (the curly mono-finger leaves are in generally developed from the reverted preflowers).

Good luck with this grow, I am sure that you will amaze us one more time !

Yes I want the cuttings to grow slowly.

This allows me to have a greater variety in a smaller space. Since I run perpetual and the micro cabs, I like to have a bunch of cuttings of various ages and sizes to choose from.

The cuttings are only fed water no matter how old they are lol. As shown in this thread, some of those cuts are in 3" pots for 6-12 months, but the majority are used a lot younger.

The cuttings are all prevegged/vegged under daylight cfls; 14w and 23/26w.

Here's the path my cuttings follow.

First, the cuts I take are fairly small to begin with, 2"-3" in length. They are put into oasis cubes and the cubes are set in a small tupperware with about .5" of water to keep them moist. Since the cuttings are so small I turn the oasis cube on it's side and stick the stem through the side of the oasis cube. The rooting cuts are under a single 14w daylight bulb.

After the cuts have thrown roots out the oasis cubes, I transplant them into 3" pots. The medium is a 3:1:1 mix of Promix, earthworm castings and perlite. I water with water that has a bit of kelp (Maxicrop) in it.

The 3" pots then go into a 14" x 14" box that's lit by two 14w daylight cfls.

When the plants have reached about 4-6" in height one of two things happens to them.

If they aren't going to be used right away, they stay in the 3" pots and get moved to a small cab that is lit with a couple 14w daylight cfls.

If the plants are going to be used right away in the 1sqft cfl cab, then they are removed and transplanted to goldfish containers. If the plants are going to be flowered under HID, then they get transplanted to a 6" pot.

In this transplant, the transplant to goldfish boxes and the 6" to 3gal transplant, I use a 50-50 mix of new soil and old soil.

I have three large rubbermaids that I use for soil

One tub is for new soil. The new soil is the 3:1:1 promix, ewc, perlite mix.

The second tub is for old soil. The old soil is soil that came from a plant that finished flowering. The soil was screened through 1/2" hardware cloth, a little Biotone is added, soil is moistened and mixed and let to sit until needed.

The third tub is where I make and store the 50-50 mix of old-new soil that I use for transplants. I take equal amounts of old soil and new soil and mix them up in this tub where it sits until needed.

After I transplant from 3" to 6" pots using the 50-50 mix, I water again, only with kelp (Maxicrop) water, and then the plants get moved into a veg cab that is lit with 6 x 23w daylight cfls.

picture.php

They stay in this cab until needed. They might be topped to keep vertical growth down and encourage branching. Clones are taken from these plants too.

When these plants get transplanted to 3gal, I use the 50-50 new-used soil mix and water with kelp water for the first watering.

The 50-50 mix makes the soil a little denser and the plants grow a little slower than they would in the new soil mix, which is what I'm looking for.

Here's the Lady G1 x SD IBL after another 8 days.

Getting some normal growth, but she's still putting out the funky growth.

Time to transplant her to her new home in the goldfish box and start her vegging in the cfl scrog cab.

Here she is after the transplant.

Here she is in the cfl scrog cab. She was too tall, so a little training was in order.

The plan is to veg her out for a couple weeks, throw the screen in place, let her veg a little more til the screen is full, then start flowering.

Time to get the 11" x 11" cfl cab going again. This round will be an Indiana Bubblegum.

Here she is before being transplanted.

Here's the CFL cab that currently has two Sweet Widow Lavenders scrog'ed and just starting to flower.

This cab was made from a recycled cabinet I picked up for $7. I raised it off the ground with some 2x4s, added vent holes with black painted elbows, wiring and a screen for the scrog. The screen is height adustable.

The exterior of the cab is 34" tall, 21" wide and 13" deep.

The interior growing area is 21" x 11" for a total of 1.6 sq ft.

I have 3 x 42w cfls and 2 x 23w cfls for a total of 172w.

This gives 107.5w per sq ft, which is slightly lower than what my other two cfl cabs put out.

There currently is not a scrubber on this cab, it's unfinished in the scrubbing/venting area. I currently am running a cheap inline fan to move the air through the cab. I plan on upgrading to a more powerful blower, adding a scrubber and enclosing that stuff in a box on top of the cab.

Hey blynx this scrog looked great ! Awesome work man :tiphat:

How much is far that screen from the lamps ? I have a cabinet just like your one, with 5x23w CFL but it's almost 60'' tall. Im running a Grapefruit and a White Widow in it without any training so next time i wanna try to do a scrog like yours i hope :D

Very good job, greetings from Italy :tiphat:
