This morning.

The largest plants are showing a problem which I believe is Ph. I'll get that handled today with a proper PH'd feeding with more than usual runoff.

There is a strange change in leaf shape, especially the center finger on the top leaves.

One of them grew a round topped middle leaf, but grew the pointy top of the leaf, under the rest of the growth.... wierd, and hard to explain, here look.

picture.php

and the other leaves that are like this... see the center right leaf below is super short and round

I'm almost positive it's a PH issue cause I haven't been checking with the Organics as much lately... and well, it looks like PH to me... But I want a second opinion.

On a seperate note, look at how pretty this C99 Sativa Lady is.

I think it may be colder temps at night causing nutrient uptake issues.

I'm gonna hit the Reset on the thermometer and check the high low tomorrow.

and it's mainly just those two, with a little bit showing on the largest blue hash.

Either way, It will be gone within a few days. I'll have every variable double checked and then it's on to bigger and better things.

I'm hoping to hit the switch in about 2 weeks. but I may have to go sooner.

I'll be trimming every secondary branch off and just going for straight up Baseball bats.

I may replace the weakest plant or two with one of the beautiful Lemon Skunks that are hanging in small pots on the right. maybe not, I don't know yet.

Got it dialed. They are out of any funk and growing like mad.

I brewed a very good tea. It had almost no smell, just earthy and slightly sweet, I think it was one of my best yet. We'll see how they like it :)

I filled a 5 gallon bucket with really hot tap water and then put air stones it for about 12 hours. (I have very little chlorine here and the water is really clean and low ppm's)

After 12 hours the water was slightly warmer than room temperature and perfect for tea.

I filled my Paint strainer bag with Roots Organics Worm Castings and some General Hydroponics Ancient Forest Alaskan Humus. I fed the water with Earth Juice Hi-Brix Molasses and some General Organics BioWeed. I brewed it for about 30 hours. 2 Airstones in the bag with the Ancient Forest and Worm Castings. 2 Airstones in the bottom of the bucket below the "tea bag". after about 15 hours I took the bag'o shit out a the mix and then let the brew mix another 15 hours.

Tonight when I went to feed them my carefully constructed tea I was surprised at the new growth.... Last night I closed my top vent to keep the warmth in and I really think it helped. I'll take pictures in a couple days, I think everyone will notice a difference in growth.

Oh, almost forgot, I started Supercropping the crap outa the bigger girls and their stalks where so thick and shapely they really felt like hydro :)

that sounds very doable. I have been hesitant to feed with teas because i always thought it was a more labor intensive process. that sounds like a great recipe.

i have been having some wierd temp fluctuations with the weather. gonna have to close the top vent.

Tea is Really simple.

This guy does an excellent job explaining it.

Here is the basics though.

1. I use a black bucket and lid from the Grow shop. Any 5 gallon bucket with lid will do.

2. 5 Gallon Paint Strainer Bag. I got a bag that came with two at Ace Hardware. Supposedly the Paint strainer bag is a little more porous than the good 'ol trusty Pantyhose.... and this allows the larger fungus to get through and create a better diversity than with pantyhose.

3. At least 1 Aquarium Pump. Petco, Walmart etc will have one. at least 2 airholes on the pump. I use two pumps with 4 air hoses... In the future I'll buy 1 Nice High output pump from the growshop to power all 4 hoses. You can do whatever you want.

4. 4 Airstones, I use the ones that are a cylinder like an extra thick and stubby roll of half dollars. about 2" long... they are heavy and hold themselves down. Use any that you want, but make sure they will sink.

The video shows 1 Aquarium airpump with 2 hoses. Each hose has a T splitter going to 2 air stones. The bigger ones go in the bottom. The smaller airstones on a short T go inside the paint strainer bag and you tie the excess bag up in a knot on the air hose.

I use 4 separate air hoses with 2 large airstones and 2 smaller.

So whatever you decide drill 1/4" holes in the top of the bucket just under the lid line.

In the video he ties a shoestring to the bag and runs it through a hole in the lid. that way you can pull the bag of compost to the middle of the bucket of water and then tie the string off on your pump, then it will stay in the middle the whole time.

I usually have the water between 70 and 80 degrees and like it on the warmer side.

I will run with the tea bag for 6-12 hours and then another 12-24 hours after I take the tea bag out.

I usually add just molasses and EWC, but that ancient forest from GH is awesome... and also more fungal.

They say that molasses will brew the bacteria, and that the seaweed will feed more fungus... do whatever you think but diversity is always good.

I've also read that brewing tea for anything over 1.5-2 days will start to create a less diverse Tea as the stronger microbes take over.

Also a great foliar spray :tiphat:

Good Luck!!!!

Any Tea Brewers that stumble on this, I'd love some input or home recipes that I can try... So hook a brother up :thank you:

Thanks MHG - I was thinking today after having read your post about your latest brew, "Hey, I oughtta bug that guy for some details. Maybe I've been doing it wrong. Meh, I shouldn't bug him."

Oh. Didn't even see the last part there. Here's what I usually do, in a far less scientific way:

(all numbers are approximations)

2 gal water (always use set-out water)
2 tbsp liquid fish
2 tsp MaxiCrop 1-0-4 soluble kelp
1 TBSP molasses
1-2 TBSP EWC

..and sometimes, if I'm feelin' saucy (every 2 weeksish, in flower), I'll add a 1-2 TBSP Indonesian guano.

 It's worked for me! :)

@ silver hawaiian - I don't know why I didn't think about a fish emulsion before... that's a Great Idea! I'll add some of the General Organics Fish stuff that I haven't been using much of to my next tea brew and see how she does.

I'm really liking this Wappa, she has been a breeze to grow, and always looks very healthy. Lately though she's really starting to grow faster.

Wow man, I'm lurkin in this thread more than any other!

I'm doing my 2nd "Organic" grow with the Root's line, my first was my outdoor blueberry,.... Now I'm running the "Beer Cup" with it..... It's working for sure, but,.... there's that inner hippy that just isn't happy with it!

I've been wanting to dream up a tea brewing contraption I can use here (suburbia) and now my brain is rolling! :D

Again to any Tea brewer's out there, the OP isn't the only one taking notes! :good:

To the OP, I got myself a new welder and am working on cleaning out the garage to get the 4x4 in there for a major overhaul! :tiphat:

Just give me another 3-4 seasons ;)

My dumb brain tells me it's a good source of N, and probably introduces some other critters into the action.

Oh - I ease up on the Liquid Fish (5-0-0 or something) about 5 weeks into flower, and then I switch it up and use Neptune's Liquid Fish Hydrolate. Higher P - higher me! :ying:

Looks like the ladies loved their tea dose.

I took some pictures because I couldn't believe how vigorous the root growth was when I looked tonight.

Fresh roots coming from higher up on the stems... and if you look at the coco surface it's full of visible roots everywhere! I've never seen this in soil. I love coco

I have 7 Lemon Skunks going in small black pots on the side of my tent.

I decided to rip out the Auto Ak that I had because it was acting all runt like and had very strange growth.... needless to say, I made an executive decision and threw a lemon skunk where they Auto Ak was.

When I went to transplant I practically flipped out!

I've never had monster hairy white organic gnarly roots like this before on such a small transplant.

Oh and the rest are doing well!!!

Including the Lemon skunk on the bottom right.
