I can understand your headaches. I do have a question though. I can't find the shrimp compost anywhere, can I substitute shrimp cocktail?

Remember "Eliza"? Back in the day of the early IBM computers, there was this program called Eliza (I think). It would ask you questions and depending on how you answered, gave therapeutic sounding answers.

We need a B1 program that just repeats itself for people.

I had Eliza on mac back in the early nineties. Seems it was a universal (and fun to abuse) program.

Okay.

B1, you are a patient man, thanks for all the info you have provided.

I grow stealth and the bubble noise of my brewer is the loudest sound in the grow space. I thought of using a covered, insulated beverage cooler to brew in. Virtually silent, but is there concern about brewing in a partially sealed container? I am brewing as I write this and will know in a day or so, just thought I would ask you as well.

Or should I ditch the pump and just stir poor man's style?

If you can simply stir and steep your tea every few hours you'll be fine. Try to make some foam in it so the bacteria can get oxygen.

The problem is, I wonder if they are actually growing anything? It takes a good while to grow our plants. THAT'S where the learning begins.
Does it have to IBM? I have an Amiga. Will that work?
Are you calling me Amiga?

So I went out and bought some earth worm castings, fishbone meal and dolomite lime. Only problem is I bought the pelleted type... Can I break the pelleted stuff down into powder or can I get away with using it pelleted?

Sorry, I posted if it is possible to have salt build up in organic soil and if it is possible to over fertilize with tea extract --- I meant compost tea based on Burn1 recipe. Thank you for your patience and time

I like to come here once in a while and read the same questions over and over and over again, it's soothing.

Gotta figure this is the first time some here have grown anything. A taste of the herb has brought many to start. Not necessarily a bad thing. They get hooked on the ganja then they move on to the harder stuff like corn and tomatoes.
Like I was told the other day, patience. You'd think that would be second nature here. It takes time for them buds to develop.

Thats funny as shit... my first garden wasn't until after i had been growing ganj for awhile! Guess it really is a gateway drug! lmao

BurnOne instructed me to use powdered dolomitic lime only---not pelleted or any other kind. It is a very fine consistency like flour. Anyway, just trying to help. See post # 3697 on page 247.

I have a couple questions that I'm sure are answered in this thread somewhere already but my head hurts from reading page after page. :) I'll finish the entire thread eventually but it's a lot to read and it could take me a week to get through it.

The Plan:
LC Mix #2 using FFOF
RECIPE #1 without the Jersey Greensand most likely

Questions:
1) Should I PH the water prior to watering? I know I don't have to worry about the soil ph but my tap water is around PH 7.5 after sitting out for a couple of days.

2) Is the Fox Farm Potting Soil (red bag) the same or an acceptable replacement of pure EWC?

3) Is it recommended to use normal perlite or chunky perlite?

don't skimp on the greensand

1) no

2) no

3) normal is fine, chunky will last longer

AFAIK, FFOF is pre-charged w/ nutes ! ultimately you will be better served starting w/ unamended mix

Thanks for the answers. I was able to find greensand locally today but no kelp. So I had to order that and I already had everything else I needed. Dolomite lime is another product I have to order all the time because everyone around here only carries the pelletized lime.

I have a big bag of chunky perlite and 4 bags of FFOF already so I have to use the stuff up. The OP has it as an option so I'm hoping it isn't too rich.

maybe consider the amendments already present then? the EWC/compost element is there, guano, fish and crab meal too

add your greensand and kelp meal

be careful about too much lime since it will also be pre-limed

the thing is then you would deviate from burn's instructions -which i hate to advise; but as you see in that link, the FFOF is supposed to be a ready to use mix; many people combine FFOF w/ light warrior for a water only mix

Organics are VERY low in salt.

Blood Fish and Bone

Blood Fish and Bone

Hi guys...so could one of you organic guru's help me with quantities?

I use Canna Pro Plus soil...basically coir and peat with little to no nutrients...

I want to know how much to add of the following to 1 square foot of soil:

Blood, Fish and Bone (mixed product)
Maxicrop Cal-Sea-Feed (seaweed, lime and CalMag)
Worm Casts
Epsom Salts
Perlite

I know there are quantities for something quite similar on page 1 but it would be good to get opinions...

Cheers
