Maximum watts for your setup?? Folks are worried.

OK, I see many threads with folks worried about what they can safely run without raising flags. I see folks running a 600 and worried??? Lets help em by telling them what we are running for a long time at HOME. No warehouse stuff,that is another beast.My thing is this, elec company is a buisiness,they want your dollar. Within reason you can do alot of usage as long as you pay.ON TIME is a good idea!!! I run 3600 watts flower at the moment and about 900 veg. I live in a big house and my bill is around $290.00 a month.If we are going to help overgrow for the cause,,,,,I feel as if our input can help the folks who are worried about elec. consumption.I know a fella who runs 6000 flower in his home and 2000 veg, for the last 5 or so years with no issue. I personally think that is much,but he has been fine.Input???

290 isnt bad at all, I'm setting up to be running 4k in flower t5 in veg I'm anticipating 300-350 a month since we don't use much power upstairs at all were gone all day and are always in the same room so one light one tv at most going at a time. Anyways I have a friend who runs 8k in flower and 2-3k in veg his bill is like 900 a month in a 1600 sq foot ranch and hes never had a problem but were both "legal" in MI

If you were referring to me.....I actually pay alot compared to the folks who live about 8 miles from me. The town to the east have their own elec co. so to speak.They buy blocks of power from major power co.The town must maintain the power and do maintenance and such. The majority of that area is considered total elec. Elec furnace,stove,pretty much everything is elec in the homes because of the super cheap elec cost.I have a relative there who pays around 60 dollars a month on the budget plan.EVERYTHING in her house is elec. no gas!! Makes me sick.

the "town" didn't even have a police force, the county cops strolled in for a couple minutes and left, this happened every 8 hours...

thing is, there was 4 of these house in a 2 block area there....

shit STILL goes on like that, in that same area, but im not apart of it......

we had to buy 300 gallon containers and vans and truck the water in, twice a week....

i would be there if the water situation was better, trucking in the water was SUCH a hassle!....

gonna go out on a limb here and assume that the electric bill for that place got "lost in the mail"? 31kw+ the house in NorCal would be like $7k a month.

I've been running 2000w - 2400w in a 2br home for almost 5years. Would be more if I had the space. I am looking to buy a 2nd home in the next 1-2 years. Then I will increase. 4000w is my personal limit, though I know people that have run 9-10kw for years (paying the electric, not bypassing the meter) although these setups were larger homes than my own. I've always been more scared of stealing electricity than growing weed.

600w is NOTHING to worry about. Like someone else said cover the smell, pay your bills on time, don't be a shady neighbor, and take care of your yard. My asshole used to pucker up every time I heard a helicopter. Now, I don't even worry about them. NEVER, EVER, EVER, throw away anything grow or weed related in your trash on the curb, EVER.

Krunch I am of course very impressed with the size of the op you were running...but the OP made this thread so people that are running lots of watts ON THE GRID can be reassured that they are safe if they just pay the bill....your operation is really not relavant because after reading you had to keep the oven running all day to have a bill tells us that you were obviously not running the power on the grid. I am not accussing you of doing anything wrong or anything like that at all just saying that if you weren't paying the hydro company for the power then this really does nothing to reassure people if anything it shows that theres only so many lights you can run on the grid without attracing attention...people always hate on the cats who rip power but how you gonna run 50 plus lights in a residence without cutting some corners....

I often worry. I'm NOT A DEALER nor do I have a huge grow. I run 2k for flower and 3 T5's for veg. Its a small personal medical grow. My bill is any where between 400-550. I worry that this will draw attention. Im all legal but dont want my door kicked in and my dog shot. what do you guys think?
