Anti, just had a quick read back through the thread and I gotta agree with bobble this needs to be a sticky for sure! There is a ton of great info on vert growing in this plus your killing it with the first run the room.

I was wondering what those pictures of your CFL plants @ harvest yielded on average? Also how big were they in terms of bud development @ the same stage your current girls are @?

Really good thread bro, you deserve a lot of credit for the carrying out your plans and bringing them to life! :tiphat:

why not use a sink drain and trap adapter to fix leak?

Seal around drain with plumber's putty.

I might not be visualizing correctly so I may be off?

I think this is the best solution yet. It will solve the issue of sealing up the end grain and also trap most debris yet still allow for drainage albeit slow. I'm sure you can find appropriate fittings to adapt it to your system.

Your just f-ing killing it bro. Much :respect:

I've had a minor lil hiccup in my Vscrog. Timer got jacked. Set me back about a week. Update coming soon. Maybe tonight.

good work anti !!! ...... i was wondering how long it would take to outgrow that disco ball:wave:

I was wondering the same. When we get close to harvest, I'll pull a few plants out long enough to hang it up with a bunch of juicy colas and get some pics. Til then, it's probably banished.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

You're gonna kill it! Nice work. Regardless of watering method, you have a great setup. :shooty:
I'm a little disappointed that I haven't gotten the watering issue fixed. Because the table itself was so cheaply built (about $100 if you include all the paint & silicone) I am leaning toward building a completely new table that isn't quite as tall so the top plants will have enough headroom to get as big as they want.

I think the new table will also be made to have a "basin" that is at least as deep as the pots themselves so that when pumps are attached it is able to automatically completely submerge plants and then drain out on its own.

Not sure when I will actually build the new table, since this is working fine and spending 40-60 minutes every other day fussing with my plants really doesn't bother me at all. Eventually I may want a vacation and then E&F dialage will be a MUST but for now, I can keep up my "hand dunking" through this harvest no sweat.

I'm not sure how I'd make that work in my space. I'm open to hearing your ideas if you care to elaborate.

mad props for seeing this thru so far.....great directory of the grow in your sig also.
this kinda grow is a great example or your brain on drugs....brilliant!
you have serious dedication homeboy, keep up the good work!

Thank you!

I've been planning to add the relevant links but I've been lazy. Now I don't have to. Thanks homie!

I was wondering what those pictures of your CFL plants @ harvest yielded on average? Also how big were they in terms of bud development @ the same stage your current girls are @?

My *GUESS* is that my average plant after 2 years of experimentation in my microcab was between 12-14g once fully dried.

My scale died over a year ago and I haven't bothered with getting another. I'll get one before harvest time just so we can know for sure.

When I still had a scale and I was cutting my container size almost in half my best plants were topping out at 9-10g. Once I switched to full size containers (as an experiment) I got significantly fatter and denser buds from the same room. (I also switched up my soil at the same time from dirt to moss.)

Looking forward to updates in your threads. My solution is going to be to make a new table as mentioned above. I want more headroom for the top tier plants so that they can grow an extra 6" if they so desire.

HGO- why isn't this thread stickied yet?

********* PLEASE STICKIE THIS THREAD ***************

I vote fer sticky as well. This thread is ahead of the curve, and anti is ahead of the game.

this one will get stickied at some point ........ the only question is will it be pre or post pic of the month when it happens.

Wow guys. You guys even mentioning this thread getting stickied has me feeling like I've been nominated for a Grammy or something. Thanks so much. Seriously.

:thank you:

I hope that this thread is helping (or will help) someone somewhere come up with a bad ass idea or give them the inspiration to do something they thought was beyond them. The reason I take time and put detail in is because I have learned so much since joining this community and I want to give back. I am seriously proud to be a contributing member of our little society and it is nice to have a forum where we can get together and learn from each other. I want to contribute as much positivity as possible to our international little online home as I reasonably can.

I say it because I mean it. I've said it time and time again... so many guys come around with drawings of what they want to build, and they never make it happen. You made it happen, and for that, I have mad respect for you. Not only did you make it happen, but you filled it up with beautiful clones and you're having a smashing first run, despite a few issues... I've learned plenty from you bro. You're an asset to our community.

Ah, the question of, "Should I water more often at a shallower depth, or should I water less often but submerge the pots deeper?" Which will get you more root mass and better growth? I grow in coco coir and have been going round with that. My root mass was less developed above the submerged zone, so I increased the fill depth, but then got a wet stagnant anaerobic zone at the bottom of the container with no root growth. Guess it depends on what the plants use each day. Maybe I could get my upper medium root growth by submerging deeper but less often. The point being here that you don't know for sure that you'll get significantly better growth by submerging the container to its full depth as compared to filling the the current trough to four inches. You probably would get more root mass but we don't really know how much difference it would make. Enough to make it worth the effort of building a new table?

You could fix this leak after harvest. Do another run and hand dip a few test plants each watering, fully submerged. Water the rest of the plants using your ebb and flow irrigation system to four inches deep. See if your fully submerged plants grow significantly better. If so, then build a new table. If your present table is too tall, then cut eight inches off the legs to shorten the thing and give your plants more headroom.

This is an excellent suggestion. I have already considered the idea of lopping off 6-8" from the legs of the current table, but then I got to thinking about other modifications as well. I have plenty of time to think and reason it out. Everybody feel free to throw their 2 cents in if you desire to.

hey I was thinking.. ;) if you get bored on your next run can you do a plant in a 20oz Mt. dew container? ...just fer old times sake, and to see the 'full scale' comparison of the container sizes you're using...lol

I don't drink mt.dew in 20oz too much anymore, but when ever I buy one it feels really weird to hold in my hand after growing in them for so long lol.

been awhile since I've been around here....good to see you are continuously iterating and improving Anti! Kinda sad I missed the build, but I'll definitely pull up a chair for the rest of the show.
