400w 1st coco grow.....

hey all, i'm running a 400w MH/HPS 5x4x2 tent grow with coco. BigBuds first. seedling looks healthy and green so looks like we got lift off. my mix is 75%coco 25% perlite. got her in a 20oz cup to let her get some roots. probably transplant to a 2 or 3 gal bucket. that cheez it container is a little more than a gal, so i'm looking around to see in thats enough. i had 5 gal prepared but was informed by you fine folks that may be too much. once i get some more seeds in i'll be running another one with shorter flower time to even out since i'd like to have 2 going. those should be here in a few days. heres some pics, sorry about the quality, i'm looking at cameras....





using the 6/9 GH micro and bloom with Botinacare CalMag plus on hand. did add a little dolomite lime to the mix initially, not sure whether i should have with this type of fert. also put a little epsom in the first flush. been keeping solutions going in to 5.6 ph. for the seedling i started with just water and 2ml CalMag/gal until i saw the 2nd set(bladed)leaves. i'm now using 4 4 4, mic blm CalMag, and my ppm is around 450. i'll go 5 5 5 in a day or 2. once its 6" tall, i'll run it full on 6/9 as recommended by h3ad the wise. feel free to criticise, insult, or smack me around if you see me doing something wrong, i can take it......

3rd set of leaves coming in nicely. its a sparkling green color, big diff from my bagseed seedlings before. well worth the $ to get viable seeds. how are some of these icmag vendors? i prefer a UK vendor. everything i've been sent from NL either hasent made it through or who knows what. you guys had a prob with NL to US also? hows shipping with the boutique? and how does seedbay work anyway?

pretty neat how you put those flors up in your cab bro, little wonka factory. yup gotta figure out how to support the BB weight, but first things getting through inspection. i think they'll just do the neighbors because they have the pets theyre so concerned about. def some good wardrobe ideas tho. i was thinking of a 3 chamber myself, but will stick with the tent until i move out of the freakin jerry springer show here.

hey weedss, i think its a 20oz, works well so far. just wrapped it in foil to keep light and heat out since its a clear friendly's fribble cup lol.

if youre wondering why i recieved an edit from a mod in the intro is because you cant talk about unsupported vendors for strains, just the strains themselves. so keep that in mind. that means you weedss....you disoriented oriental. lol jk

My only tip after reading the thread again would be to keep the nutes light untill that 16oz cup is packed with roots ready for transplant . if you hit them to heavy to soon you could burn them or killem so feed them but keep it light . i usually don't feed nutes till i get at least 3 sets of leaves , i will give the rhizo & protekt & i give calmag cuz i cut my tap water with RO . but no base nutes till they can handle it .

yeah i've been giving it 4 4 4 ml of mic blm and calmag plus. the ppm has been at 450 to 500. i'm at the 3rd set of leaves is this ppm weak enough?

if its @ a .7 conversion ..... it seems a little high but if the plants show no signs of burn on the leaf tips then your probably fine . just keep an eye on them & if they show any signs of burn or def's , give them a flush & cut the nutes back abit , but if they're fine , let them go , just take care not to over water/feed . good luck dude .

nute burn is yellowing from the inside of the leaf out, i'm sure i read, so i'm seeing a slight yellowing. not even yellow really, its just lighter green on the inside than the outside. were looking for a constant of pure forest green right?

I go with Lucas right from the start. Nute burn will be from the leaf tips down. I rarely get any even on fairly new clones with Lucas. I use Maxi-bloom and coir. If they are starting to grow fast it's not uncommon for the center of the leaf to be a little pale, but once they grow out they should be a nice deep green.

i flushed yesterday morning and todays watering was 425 ppm. it looks like a much healthier color green now and is thriving it seems. i'll take some pics tonight.

hey merx, i put the brick in the bucket ( has hole) and i pour shitload hot water and last water I ph'd to 5.8~6 and flush then tested the runoff, it came out 213 ppm lol .. too much salt lol even tho i flushed it enough time. I think i have shittyest brick lol you think it OK to use ?

Keep flushing dude , get it below 100ppm .

thats high for tap. can you get bottled water? if your ppm after flush is less than your tap then i'm confused. if you flushed with hot water 2 or 3 times, your probably ready to go. just go to the market and get your self 3 or 4 gal of purified water. that should get you the first 2 weeks with just a 16oz cup of coco.
i have really good tap at 65 ppm. supposedly in the top 5 towns in the country as far as water quality. you might have high salinity in your water
