CHEAPER ENZYMES

^ This is what has me confused. Is it going to kill my bacteria and Fungi? I'm in Pro-Mix, so I just feed molasses instead of enzymes since they are expensive. Thought this would work, till it seems they add products to kill off bacteria and fungi in the ponds. Any pros out there?

While this has been an awesome thread, I'm still confused as hell! I don't feel like experimenting these days as I'm still a rookie, but once I got some more experience under my belt, I have to try one of these cheaper enzyme products..
Could someone elaborate on the 'enzymes' could kill mychorriza theory? That sounds bad :/

I read this thread a year or two ago and ordered the carefree pond and fountain protector. It went bad after a year or two it probably would have lasted if i poured it into a smaller bottle to work out of to prevent cross contamination.
Anyway I was looking to order some more and found that they now have several new products for growing. Sorry if has been mentioned already. I was just wondering if anyone has used them. http://carefreeenzymes.com/hydroponics They have

It says to one capful of the concenrate treats 100 galons.

like I have not used any of these products but I was happy with the Pond and fountain protector so Im sure I would be happy with the Hydro rez protector since it is actually formulated for use with plants, who knows it may practicably be the same formula in a different bottle. Just thought I would see what everyone else thought in case they had not seen these. I hope the links are welcomed since carefree products have been one of the main products discussed in this thread.

on the lable it also says to be carefull of the dosage because to much will cause low dissolved oxygen in water so im sure the same applys with many of the other brands. So it seems pretty important to make sure to use the correct dosage. I

Great thread. I've been using Stresszyme for a few years and always have had good reservoirs. I'm going to find some of the Dry Jungle Pond stuff next from Lowes and use that.
Would it be of advantage to use Live Bacteria in with chemical nutes or is Live only really beneficial for organic nutes?

I go with Hygrozyme all the way. Cannazyme works OK but not as well and Sensizyme is way underpowered. I don't think any of them are unreasonably priced. Consider how much money you save growing your own. Who cares if you spend a few hundred bucks on nutes if you pull a pound?
I don't believe this AT ALL. I can produce enzymes in a bucket in my basement if I was patient and precise enough. The organic chemistry involved is very basic.

In an e-mail directly from Canna customer service I was informed that "No Canna products sold in North America contain living organisms."
Check for yourself. I'm sure you'll receive the same answer.

I think its a great alternative to buy the super concentrated pond cleaner. With my use of stresszyme over the last couple of years, and having zero reservoir problems, I feel I may as well as save some more money.
I used Hygrozyme for a long while too but I'm fairly stingy with my money and having to pay $20 for pretty much a lifetime supply beats $20 every couple of months.

its called biowish and looks to be less than 1-2c/gallon
of course its geared toward the regular agriculture market, not the dope market

I just got some "Pond-Zyme w/ Barley Heavy Duty Pond Cleaner" 16oz (dry) treats 16,000 US Gal. off of Amazon.
Got some on my skin, no burns (someone had mentioned this).

Been using Pond care Barely clear, with natural barely and peat enzymes, has worked a treat, 30 mls treats 250gallons LOLS.
Only prob is the bottle i purchased expires in 3 months

It says 1lb treats 16,000Gal (or something like that) I did the math and 1g treats ~35Gal.
(I bought an airtight container to keep the enzyme in too)
On a side note, i run a water fountain right outside my growroom. I run about 4/5 water and 1/5 Ona liquid. The Ona eventually gums up the whole thing and i have to take it apart every 6months to clean it up. Well i added a few grains of the pond enzyme and it seems to have cleared up the 'ona gunk'.
Didnt notice an effect on the Ona ability to mask odors either.

I found a very interesting article the other day on how to brew your own enzymes from soaking barley or rye seed for 24 hours.
They also do this while making beer; it's called mashing.
Think I'll whip up a batch and write a DIY post.

One big tip with the DE though is be very careful not to breathe it. From what I have been told, it's worse than absestos, etc. for your lungs. Basically shreds them like it does to bugs. Handle accordingly.
It also has silicates.

Hasnt had a noticeable effect on my pH (i keep it 5.8-6.0), nor on my EC (I havent actually measured it, it could be something like 0.1ec).

Fountain is still 'gum-free' too.
