There was overwhelming evidence in Casey trial. There was human decomp in her car. She was the last person to use it. She dumped the car next to a dumpster to hide the smell. She did searches on the computer about chloroform. She did not tell anyone her child was missing until her mom confronted her where she was. She lied to about everything possible. There's a lot more.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It just seems like evidence went circumstantial when they applied it in the trial. The mother said she was the one looking up chloroform and then she said she.... whatever.

I can't gather how prosecutors didn't connect the dna in the car trunk as more solid with the jurors.

Don't mean to be a curmudgeon but I always thought Marsha Clark and co were douche bags in the OJ trial. IMO, shades of dumbass with the Anthony prosecution.

Not all americans who go to europe come from wealthy families. Ive known some kids who did that and paid their own way, in once case working on alaskan fishing vessels.

In other cases the parents make sacrifices of their own to make sure their kids have the chance at a good education.

OP makes a good point about knox fitting up the guy - that doesnt reflect well on her but then again she was interrogated without sleep for a long time - longer than it would be legal to interrogate a terrorist suspect in the UK - so who knows what one might say under such duress ?

i think the whole case says a lot about how easy it is to demonize women who dare to be sexually active and not apologize for it. how it makes them 'fair game' whether its to make distasteful comments about in a thread or blame them for murder.

similar things have happened all through history - look at mary magdalene - Jeses' partner by many accounts - reduced to a bit part player and even a prostitute by the pen of man.

Maybe our news gets watered down as it crosses the pond but I thought the DNA that was originally associated with one or both defendants turned out to be neither.

Think the DNA was theirs its how the DNA was got etc ie the whole process that they could find flaws with!

She was in Italy less than 2 months when this happened.
She was dating Raffaelo only 8 days.
This prosecutor didn't like the way Amanda and Raffaelo behaved after the muder so his "instincts" told him they had something to do with the crime.
They have the murderer, Rudi Gueday. Rudi is a homeless heroin dealer facing indictment for selling heroin when He committed this Murder and thought He could swing a deal by testifying agaisnt two people He never met.

Talk about a fucking nightmare.

if thats so why then in the 1st place did Amanda Knox ask that if Patrick Lumbamba was found guilty on her testamony that her, Raffaelo and Rudy be let off? seems a bit odd if they didn't know each other?

Hers was found on the knife handle as Merediths was found on the tip of the knive, if you are convinced it was Rudy alone, then you are deluded ALL evidence suggests more than one person was involved!!!. she and Raffaelo were cleared because of how their DNA was took, nothing more nothing less. its a tecnicality.. I know of cases were 2 people in a house no one else entered, a gun was found with both their DNA on, one died and one walked free.. the gun was proven to of been fired yards away from the deceased. yet the person was not guilty on a technicality.. who do you think fired the gun ?

also if you have bothered to read the case notes put up... theres things like her bra clasp being found with Raffaelo's DNA on it.. there was DNA found in the bathroom etc etc... its how the DNA was collected that got them off.
