What is this about the word marijuana being racist or something?
Fact of the matter is if I use the word cannabis when talking about weed I sound like a douche bag.
I use the word nuggets most of the time, then if you watch old video about a prospector talking about nuggets, or anything nugget related really, it makes you smile

I've come to use the term cannabis mostly now days. I find that it kind of helps the pre-conceived notions about the plant that people may have. When people hear the word "marijuana" or "dope" they are hearing terms with a LOT of baggage. A lot of people have not heard the word "cannabis" before and when they find out what you're talking they have already heard what you've had to say before they could turn their minds off at the mentioning of "marijuana".

dope in some places also means smack... so...
Where I grew up it was always called dope. I started moving around the country, the meth epidemic hit and all of the sudden everyone is refering to meth as dope. Got some strange and disgusted looks from people before I figured out people thought I was asking for meth instead of mary. I'm strictly a ganja man.

My 'vision' goes back to when I got involved and my experience. Short sighted has nothing to do with it.
Nowadays I say Canna mainly in general convo or Cannabis in some instances and when dealing with 'med' peeps I use Meds. It's only as a basis for conversation/communication to convey meaning and I use the term, for the same damn stuff under any other name, that seems most appropriate for the people I'm dealing with.
