update.....

my CO2 regulator was fucked up so i had to get a new one and a back up tank so i now have 2 tanks i hate using Co2 and summer is almost over cant wait this will be the last year with this AC next summer getting a new one

I got my next system ready but i am gonna wait two more days to fill her up with plants, the last system didnt have that great of a batch of clones in them but the roots are outstandiing and i think it is only bc it is a fresh system i need to find a way to clean my older systems and return them back to new

i added a green light to my growroom so i can work in the dark and it is awesome i harvested my next crop of sour bubble today before lights on there were 3 SS in that batch and i left them to finish out. Since i have a system ready to go i am not in a hurry to harvest so i am gonna give them 10 more days and harvest it with the mother i am flowering out

a few pics....

this is my Sensi Star mom on day 54

the system and plant on the ground is on day 19

this batch is Sensi Star on day 31

this is my next batch of Sour Bubble day 41

i left these Sensi so they could get a little extra time

Ground plants

Here are some room shots

here is my last harvest dont look like much but these SB buds are super dense i would say there is at least 200g here and the three SS still left ^ I will tally when dry

My next bactch of Sb is even better, a better batch of clones with a extra couple days veg

i wanna experiment with some defoliation but i have read that it needs to be prepped in veg and my plants are not that big when they go into flower they just explode during stretch but always seem to leafy for my taste any advice ???

thats it for now

update...

update...

been about a week i have been very busy. i got plants in the recent system i built here they are on day 6

I confirmed a 3rd Sb female so this batch has all 3 SB in it. the 3rd Sb is stacked i have never grown a plant that stays so compact with maybe .25-.5 stretch in flower the 2nd pheno grows almost like it is a sativa with extreme stretch but lots of branching also, the 1st pheno is the only one i have sampled yet it has a fruit/kushy smell and a hashy/coffee taste low-medium yeilding

the wooden frame/shutoff valve is the best idea i have had since the systems themselves the PVC screen a close second. I have 2/6 systems with the wood frame and 3/6 with the wider screen

I harvested the remaining SS from the last batch then i took the system apart and scrubbed each peice w/ bleach water and put it back together. it is currently empty, I am gonna run bleach water through it for 24 hrs then change to plain water twice then i fill it up with plants. plan to do this to the remaning 5 systems. i have been stayin on schedule lately and harvesting every 8 days

on with the pics...

this first one is a pic of my next batch it is on 46 days i harvested my last batch of Sb at day 50 i plan letting these go til 54 this batch is all pheno 1 Sb

Sb pheno 2 at 38 days

the next pic is of my most recent batch. they are on day 6 and a mixed batch of all 3 Sb they are in the system from the DIY ^ and a decent batch of 14 clones so i have pretty high hopes for it. i am gonna showcase this batch and try to post pics every couple days so you can see one start-finish

pheno 1 entire top row, pheno 2 bottom outsides, pheno 3 bottom middle

ground plant SS

these are still stretching

some room shots

i got lazy on the rez change on the right one and it caught some deficiencies taken care of now and lesson learned

tommorow i get to change my first rez the new way

thats it for now

G

GMax

i got another batch of Sb drying now it looks like it did really well but that batch caught a pretty bad case of root rot bc i didnt clean the system good enough between crops. i use a toilet brush and bleach water to clean the inside and outside of the pipes then i will run bleach water overnight then plain water twice between crops but i got lazy and skipped the running bleach water step. lesson learned.

this is my 2nd oldest system and over 3 yrs old so i am gonna take it apart and clean each peice build the frame and shutoff valve and put it back together...taking it apart and putting it back together take bout half hour

enough bout that here some pics

these are the same plants from my last post a few days later

and the rest of it

these are matching Sensi Stars 8 days apart

these SB#2 stretched perfectly there are only two in that top row though

their stems get pretty big despite only 3" pipe

Sb pheno 2 day 43

ground plant looking nice

view from below

trying to get a room shots cant really get an angle

Looks awesome those pods. DIY one of those myself one day is the list. Thanks for this thread :)

hey thanks for stopping by i am sure if you build one you will be very happy and you can build it to customize your situation... 3,4,5+ rows high stack your lights on top of eachother and surround them with coolers or space your lights apart and put coolers side by side let me know if ya need help
Really like the way you roll with your setup mate :good:

:smoke out:

yeah screens have always helped my yeild and i was a SCROGer before i went vert so it only made sense i used to consider my grow a SOG...thanks for the kind words

i had my best batch of clones so far ready for transpant today but i was working late last night and didnt have time to top off my veg system the day before or before work so i asked my gf to top them off when she got home but she forgot so when i came home only 5 out of 15 were still alive and the clones that were next in line were dead as well...FUCK

i took the five survivors and moved them over to the cooler and then i took any clones from the other batch that had roots and filled in the blanks

so basically instead of having a crop that gonna break a personal record i got this .......

but it not a total loss i had something similar happen were i only had five clones to transplant and they still ended up making 140g so i can only hope for the best after looking at that picture i might just remove the 6 tiny ones and use only the 5 good ones

In other news my last batch that had the terrible root rot yeilded 154g which is pretty good but also depressing at same time my next batch is Sensi though and she looks like she gonna do well and end this streak of bad luck...bout a week left

only two in top row

these SB#2 are so big it take 2 pictures bottom half...

top half only two in top row again... 2.5' tall!!

there a runt SB#3 in there too...

another one

ground plant definately need to get at least 6 like her going

this one is a "spare clone" grow, none of these made the first cut but they sat in the cloner a little longer this one may be one to watch bc the clones are good not great but more importantly consistent. they are all Sb#1 except for the middle row second from top SB#3...day 8

and here a room shot

i am grooming a SS mom right now so i can take clones from her next week and i also have 3 good accidental SSxSS seeds i am getting ready to pop and i gotta take a bunch of clones today and get caught back up

G

GMax

been about a week since my last update...

the batch of clones killed has put me back a little and or some reason the other batch of clones only had 10/23 root and i just cleaned it with bleach before taking them.

i have been using GH Rapid Start for the last few months and it works but i dont seem to have much success my aero cloner with it in fact terrible success, most of my systems have missing sites so i am switching back to my trusty Clonex and starting fresh, my yields have been suffering cause my clone game been off..

I have been using my AC less and less bc it has been cooling off round here but it has been making my humidity rise i had high humidity all week even up to 80% so i bought a 65 pint dehumidifier I am hoping that is overkill

I have got to sample 2/3 sour bubbles so far and the second one is the clear winner so far. they both smell the same like a chocolate/coffee hash but the second one stretches like crazy, branches more, super hardy, and yeilds better my little tester yeilded 16.7g with less veg time that usual even those numbers x15 sites would be 250.5g or .93 gpw

the 3rd Sb is waay different than the other two it is extremely short and stacked with little branching but still looks like it will yeild well and smells like a pack of lifesavers

these are my next round up... this batch of clones replaced the clones i accidentaly killed 2 months back, these clones were tossed away before i knew the others were dead and then picked back out and here we are today

here Sb#2...

Sb#1...

Sensi Star

Here is Sb#2 so you can see the stretch and branching

Sb#3 grows like a stacked pole

here is my first tester of #3 on day 35

The salvaged crop may not do too bad either, strecthing pretty good and not even halfway over..the four big ones are Sb#2

here is whole room missing one right now cause it cleaned and getting drilled and woodframe etc. plus for the first time i am waiting on clones

i bought the hash bags to complete my kit and the 45 micron is my new favorite at least with Sensi. I will get some hash pics next time

i have been looking around for a house to buy so I can have two rooms on a flipflop and when i do i have a new idea for a aeroponic system that will allow me to only visit once a week and be TAG(true aeropnic) been brainstorming and building in my head and i think i got all the kinks worked out

gotta find a place first my lease is up in a couple months and i have been debating whether i wanna move or stay i have never had any probs here but i want a house to live in and a house to grow in...i ill figure it out

thats it for now

G

GMax

ok back for an update...

I havent broken a GPW yet with the 600s but i beleive that my clones were not as strong as i am used to. I have had my cloner for longer than i can remeber and i have been cleaning it more frequently lately and still losing a good percentage of the clones, so i went ahead and built two brand new aero cloners and my first batch had 100% success in 2 days faster than usual

So i think my yeilds are about to turn around and i will start pulling GPW with my eyes closed. i was averaging .7-.8 with 400s. It is gonna be two months before i start seeing these results though

my next crop only has eleven plants in it and one of those is a runt tester of SB#3 but it looks like it is going to do very well and may even break a personal record and the one after that looks equally as good

My enviroment is under control now but the weather is changing and i am gonna have to have a new approach to control it or duct my AC to use the heat exhausted to heat my house. I am still debating whether i want to pay the extra dough to have a sealed room or go back to classic intake and exhaust and take advantage of the winter air. before i couldnt wait till winter but since i got my CO2 regulator fixed and my AC dialed in it has been a breeze so i dunno. but electric bills 300-350

I have been using my Co2 at 1000ppm no contoller just calculations but starting today i am cranking up to 1500ppm. changed my tank today just note to myself

heres a few pics

I got another ground plant it is Sensi Star it has been supercropped and i am gonna train it in a "C" shape on the ground. dont mind the water on ground i had accident this morn

here is half of my room the one in the middle is the next one up for harvest. all 6 coolers have the wider screen so there is less wasted space and i got two more wood frames to build

Here are some budshots from it. These are SB#2. I am gonna monocrop this pheno. she strecthes very well and has pretty good yeild for SB and a great high. i still have 15 beans left

this one is next after that

here another

ok thats it for now thanks for stopping by feel free to comment

time for another update...

I decided to keep the sealed room for winter, i found a guy on craigslist who was selling a 12000 btu AC that was bought at the beginning of the summer for only $50 !!!!!!!! Spent the last couple hours setting that up. My old AC was oversized, terribly innefficient and probably older than me lol. not going to miss it, here my new one....

it is winterized and uses dual 6" passive intakes and dual 6" exhausts each with duct booster fan, the fan inside the actual AC is 12". I am using the exhaust to heat my upstairs. only been using it for bout a hour now but it cools way better than my old one and now i have a spare 8" windtunnel fan.

this is my next one up even though there only eleven including a runt i think i may break a personal record it is mostly SB#2 which has super dense and heavy but spaced apart buds it yeilds way more than it looks i am gonna be using just her for a while and hoping i can dial her in and keep the stretch but cut down her internode spacing. Here they are on day 48 still a lot of space still need filled

and again on day 40

SB#3

these ones went in yesterday and in the first pic above^ you see how tall they finish

this one is the salvaged crop hard to get a good picture but they strecthed very well and you can barely tell it only 5 plants

Sensi

thats it for now i am looking to buy maybe Co2 controller and open to suggestions

G

GMax

45 micron sour bubble hash i made last night

this is my next round up

both these pics are keeper Sour Bubble

these ones went in with no veg and barely any roots they are on day 8

day 4

Bought a CAP PPM-3 Co2 constroller yesterday. Set my Co2 back down to 1000 and it keeps it constant, outta curiousity i used the controller to measure what it has been and my old calculation that i have been using for the past 5 months was fucked. my co2 tank even comes on less now

My new AC is working awesome!!!My canopy temps never above 80 and it keeps humidity in check. My entire upstairs is uncomfortably warm but it isnt really cold outside yet so maybe in winter it will be great.

I have been thinking a lot about this and i would like to get some opinions ....

right now i have a 14x12" room with one window, there is a box around the window that i was using for exhaust of AC in summer. You can kinda see it in the pic of AC at top of this page. now that it is cooling off outside I am using this box for intake of AC and exhausting heat into my house.

During the day the AC cools and dehumidifies, then at night i have a 30 pint dehumdifier with tubing that continuously drains. then I have two recirulating carbon filters for smell and a Co2 tank and controller to keep ppm high my room is pretty much 100% sealed

My question pretty simple...

lets say I add an intake fan to the window box but i dont have an exhaust in my room. In the winter the air is gonna be cold and dry so the intake will make my AC and dehumidifier work less, it also gonna have 350ppm Co2 that is gonna come in and have nowhere to go so my Co2 tank may even work less

then i would still have a ''natural" sealed room using less $$ and have higher co2 ppm compared to rapid air exchanges and in a way have the best of both worlds???

I know it will create some positive pressure but what that gonna do in sealed room ?? also with 2 filters it dont even smell on the inside, wouldnt use anything too powerful and maybe active during the day with recirculating filters assisance and passive at night

let me know what ya think

Quite the Mad Scientist!

Having worked with the red lp spray heads, mine were clogging all the time.

Seems to me you don't even need them. Have you tried a water fall? I would think you would get tons of oxygenation all the way down the 3" tube. You could put a shower heads near the top to create a rain forest. If you think it necessary about half way add a coarse screen to further oxygenate.

You could still run the 1" inside, but seems outside offers more flexibility. hth

when a red mister sprays horizontally it makes a sort of mushroom shaped spray, since i am using wyes, when they spray sideways the mushroom shape makes it spray up and into the wye . If i took a net cup from any level out while the pump is on i would get sprayed in the face. the 1/2" pipe also does an even bigger job supporting the systemso it was kinda like 'why not spray from there too'

My next system i wanna build will not use wyes and the waterfall would be great idea, plus i wanna use 4" pipe and it would require about 90 wyes which are about $7.47 a peice so i can save myself $672.30 for a better pump etc and open up my misting options

thanks for the advice

G

GMax

My last crop yeilded 145g. there were only 10 plants in it but i was still expecting at least between 180-200g so i am kinda bummed. but it really got me thinking so i have made a few changes in my growroom.....

first off the CAP co2 controller i bought has made a MAJOR difference. the plants are drinking 2-3x more water then before. this is my first time using co2 and i drug my feet when i bought it but i kinda had no choice cause i needed the AC to battle summer heat. now that i got everything i am kinda glad though. i dont really think co2 is waste of money it is just too expensive and overpriced I am about $700 deep right now . but that is in check now

secondly i replaced my 400w MH with a new 600w HPS. i have never used 600w bulbs before this grow and i have never barebulbed either. i love my 400s and i use to average .7-.8gpw with them, but now i figure a 400w that is 2.5ft away from the canopy is basically pointless and having my best lights on the edge and weakest light in middle kinda dumb so i now have 3 stacked 600s

i also joined the rest of the vertical community in using cable wires to hang my bulbs instead of them damn chains, no more chains blocking pics lol

I wasnt prepared in the beginning for the amount of heat the 600barebulbs produced but the new AC was working just fine but when i added another 600 it got a little warmer so i added a 440 cfm inline fan to the exhaust of the AC and now my temps never reach above 78F

so now my temps are 68-78, humidity 45-55 day and night, and Co2 ppm at 1000 constanly during lights on

here a few pics

My next round up on the left and my last round in on the right, you can also see the cable wires for light hanging

SB#2

SB#3

these are some sour bubble bout halfway through flowering

after harvest

i got one more system to put a frame on it has been taken apart and scrubbed and will be up in running in the next day. I have been trying to stay on shcedule of harvesting a crop and having a new one in every 8 days no matter how good/bad they are at the time but since i got all the variables covered i wanna give the next batch a full veg so my first good crop can be awesome , the ones in there may have time to turn around but i am not expecting big numbers for another 3-4 weeks

thats it for now thanks for stopping by

Looking good bro and nice move with the bare-bulb 600's :good:
giving your plants more veg time will reward you in the long run but I'm sure your well aware of that ;)

G

well a little bit of bad news.. my lease is up at the end of december and then my landlord wants to do a walkthrough

i was stressing at first but not anymore... adapt or perish....one of the best features of the system is they can actually be moved with plants in them :) I moved them here with no plants in them and just my mums but i didnt take them apart

i found a place for rent 5 min down the road with a attached garage and a huge basement and a landlord that lives on the other side of the state who i can mail rent to and never see, so my plan is to keep growing like normal and stay on schedule and when the time comes i will park my van in my garage ,empty the water in the cooler, load it up in the van, take it t o the other house and set it up under my spare 400s in a 'temporary grow room' have the landlord do his little walktrough and see everything nice, then bring them back the same way

after that i plan on signing another year lease here if he is not willing to land contract and then living at my new place ( utilities in buddies name here) once this happens i am also going to have at least two 1800w rooms on a flip flop and build my new system... so stay tuned

may even grow at my new house to cause it is a better sitution than my current one but it would defeat the purpose of having seperate houses

in grow news... i bought something i should of had forever ago, an automatic top off and shut off for my RO systems....no more waiting for water or leaving water on to long or forgetting and having spills... i am gonna set up a automatic top off for each cooler soon then they would require about 20 min a week to maintain all 6 :dance013:

My crop that is drying now looks great but i am not going to get my hopes up on yeilds the next one up was a 'spare clone' grow but looks pretty decent as well, so far the best i have gotten is bout 200g which translate into 3lbs every crop and 4.5lbs every 90 days but only .75gpw i think i can easily do 2x this

the co2 monitor has made the biggest difference in my growroom, the crop that only had 8 plants and barely any roots strecthed and filled the entire screen !!!:jump: could also be attributed to the new 600 too.... the ones that got the usual veg are getting too big and overgrowing, i may have to actually cut the veg time down to get the perfectly filled screen....hopefully this is gonna show through in yeilds

all the systems have the wood frame/shutoff valve and large screens so no more work between crops just clean them run bleach water rinse and refill with plants

thats about it i got a few pics

here is SB#3 she is probably the most potent her buds are not as dense and she is a lower yeilder and she is stocky with barely any stretch her leaves turn purple w/o any cold temps you can see it starting to come out in this pic

here some more buds....

here is the one that has 8 plants w/ little roots...

these are all ready too big and only on day 10 the 2 little ones are SB#3 the one on the right would be considered a big SB#3 lol

Day 2 these are definately get too big

thanks for the kind words boom

Growth has been eplosive lately !!! i have been rooting clones like i am used to and i have 4 really good crops in a row

here is a picture of my 2nd best crop i have done at my new spot, it dates back to July , they are pictured on day 7 that crop went on to yeild 182g

and here is my current batch on day 6 !!

this should mark a big turn around in yeilds unfortanetly i have only time to put in about 3-4 more batches before i have to move..... I have enough money but not as much as i would have liked bc when i moved i anticipated at least 8oz every batch with my eyes closed and that wasnt the case....though i feel i have it dialed in now to easily do that and more

oh well...runs under your belt, at least i be able to break personal records before i leave

i was only able to get a few more pics before batteries died

this batch is on day 18

and here SB#3 purpling up

until next time

G

GMax

growth has still been consistently good... my next round up is the last of the messed up crops.. here she is.....

she only has 5 plants in there but they grew extra tall and thick so it not a total loss

this is only 8 plants with little roots but i did this on purpose...they impressed me very well

this is the batch that i said would be too big, they are on day 13 and still looking very nice

here is another good one...

i cut down the veg time on these.... trying to find the perfectly filled screen, day 3

thats about it.... i havent been spending that much time in my growroom lately bc i have been busy but everything been doing great.....just change a rez and top off, under 10 min a day and it been awesome. the shutoff valve rez changing and auto shutoff for RO unit has made my life soooo much easier

still trying to find a new place, got about 2 months left.....if anything i can shut down and store my stuff and then bring it back and start over after but i feel i can do better

thanks for stopping by

G

GMax

been busy as hell lately (not growing) but i get a quick update in...

this is the last of my shitty crops...it is 8 plants with barely any roots so i cant complain

this one is after that it should be one of my better ones

this on is 15 plants with barely any roots still stretching though...just trying to test minimum veg time

here is the one i am most excited of...the screen is too full and the plants are thick...this one spent its whole life under 3 600s perfect CO2 and temps and steady drinking 1.5-2 gal a day...perfect storm for a great yeild

and this one should be even better have to put the screen on...

had some fungus gnatage goin on but i added 1ml per gal azamax to the rez and swiftly took care of that

unless i can find a new house these are gonna be my last crops here... i dont have time to do anymore bc my landlord wants to do a walkthrough after lease (jan 1) i still have the option of shutting down and doing the walkthrough and starting back up but that is worst case scenario... and i dont want to live here another year it just seems too risky...like pulling off the perfect crime then doubling down...even though i played things well...plus landlords are a pain.....i have clones on deck so if i can find a place i can finish out the ones here and start all new crops at the next house..back to work

i have big plans for my future place too , or this place if i decide to keep it, so stay tuned for Gmax 3rd round knockout

thanks for stopping by
