i feel you on that dupe, but after a while when you know what the plants will generally do you start killing plants for a different reason. plain old forgot cuz its boring now. open cap and water once every couple of days. snooze. after a while you start doing other shit that's not growing and a whole weeks gone by while you were shooting up heroine and snorting coke off hooker tits and you haven't even watered your plants in a week.

I thought JJ did somthing on cloning ?? and it's pretty good as I remember... Cloning will really depend on your clone some clones don't care about gel some need that extra push you just don't know which one is which till you try. Don't try and make your clones over 4 inches and use proper equiptment and you should be golden peace out Headband707:tiphat:

JJ's thead is very good. My post was tongue in cheek, but based on the likes and pos reps, it seems like others would like to see a sub-forum.

Stig,

Right now I get about 13 hours of daylight. Come winter solstice, it's closer to 9. My clones seem to do best under 24/0 or 18/6.
You cant do that in a windowsill except at a few lattitudes for a few months.

High Country, yes, I know it works for some people, it just doesn't work for me. Thats what I was saying in my original post. Even when all the conditions are exactly the same.

There is nothing to understand, just because it works flawlessly for you doesn't mean the same thing will work for everybody. There seems to be no explanation for it.

This is why many people in here say to try many different things and see what works best for you, because everybody is different.

There is nothing to understand, thats just the way it is.

Agree, a sub forum would be good, JJ Scorpio and FreezerBoy are on to it

It just seems cloning is a big enough issue to warrant a new forum.....it seems to trouble so many people.

No dramas.....keep plugging away.

New forum on cloning needed I reckon.

we got the new growers forum, we can just make a cloning thread there and sticky it.

I've already got a FreezerBoy sticky on cloning.

I just think the issue of cloning needs a separate avenue. After all, the main aim of most is to grow female heads.

That requires mother plants and cloning techniques.

There are many ways to clone in the the real world

I reckon a permanent sub forum would be beneficial.

Then everyone can explore the various methods and decide what works best for them.

how does this thread even get this big? people have been cloning plants since the dawn of time successfully or else we would be extinct long ago, it should be in our dna by now.
Because we like talking about weed. There are only so many thing you can say though. Eventually you just end up saying them again. Are you not a stoner?

I'm the same way kinda. I'm pretty good with outdoor and running a nursery, cloning and grooming/training momma plants, but I haven't quite grasp the knack of the flowering room. I always fuck something up and burn em or starve em or something.

Hey that's pretty cool of you to say. I don't think a lot of people around here throw those kind of things out.:) I'm still a newb but because of so many setbacks I had to veg a ton of plants for a long time in a tiny spot so I got to do a lot of cutting, root pruning, training, bonsai, etc. It's just different in the veg room. The lights are nice, everything is growing well and then when flower time comes it's just like "OK, here comes the stress. I hope this shit works" LOL.

Actually cloning hasn't been around that long and only in the last few years has cloning become common among growers. Back in the 80's and even into the 90's very few people cloned and even fewer could clone with any degree of proficiency or success. Those who could pull off fairly good percentages (generally speaking 50% was considered good success) were sought after by the growers in their area.

Back in the day we didn't have access to all the cool shit that we do now and there were no local hydro shops or grow stores. we couldn't order it over the internet because the internet didn't exist. So most people cut twice as many clones as they needed to ensure their plant counts. Even all the books and literature about cloning still advise cutting way more clones than will be needed.

========================

I can set up a system and design a room from start to finish. Do all the electrical, plumbing, sealing, ventilation and construction and everything. I've setup dozens and maybe even hundreds over the years and improved with each one. I get invited on a regular basis to visit people's gardens and help with their problems, and am helping a guy now modify his setup. He has grown for years but his last 3 runs have failed miserably.

In my experience the biggest problems that cause failure for people is simply the lack of equipment and materials. They are short on finances and just can't afford to throw cash at the right equipment so they end up improvising, and the results usually end up less than perfect.

The room I'm helping with now is the same: The guy is handicapped and lives on a fixed income, so he can't go buy the right inline fans and carbon filters and shit to set the room up perfectly. He would love to tho and could turn out one perfect grow after another if he could afford it. But he's gonna have to make do with what we can put together and engineer out of materials on hand and then upgrade as he can.

The fact is that we are all learning and sharing knowledge here because every member here knows that our setup is missing something or can improve someplace and every once in awhile somebody comes up with an incredible idea that materializes out of necessity and changes the way we do things instantly. Like the $4.00 cloner in my signature. Haha, I can peel off over 120 clones in less than 2-1/2 sq. ft...

surely you jest? cloning has been around since the dawn of time when we learned to propgate crops and collect seeds, farming...etc.

maybe cloning weed, yes. but people have been cloning plants forever. bamboo, rice, shit like that, only spreads through clones.
