best cloning solution on the market?

T

TREE KING

whats up guys. i just started using the ez aero cloner and i just wanted to see what you guys thought was the best solution out there. when i say best i mean which one roots the clones the quickest and has the best survival rate. im currently using olivias cloning solution but its only been a day since i took clones so i dont know how good it works yet. one thing i wasnt happy about though was that i had to use a whole gallon of the stuff just to fill up my ez clone 120.

and if alot of people think olivias is the best than i would appreciate if someone can recommend a place that sells multiple gallon bulk discounts if possible. it seems expensive to pay $35 every time i fill my res. thanks

I've always used Clonex rooting compound; gel.

Just dip my cutting in the gel and insert in coco. Mist with Boost/Rhizo, in a dome at 100% humidity for a few days until rooted.
Usually have about 99% success rate with this simple method.
Never really messed with an EZ cloner but I'm pretty sure Clonex has a powder you can dilute with water for your setup.

i hear you High Country but i do hydro and tell you the truth im loving the aero cloner. your clones look great though

IeatCubes, thanks for the recommendation but i dont want to take a chance using powder and maybe clogging up the misters

im also curious to know if anyone of you guys ever used advanced nutrients b-52 by itself and had good results. i remember years ago thats what a.n recommended to use

I've done bubblers before as well, and with any cloning method have always found if you can keep the temps stable at 24C or 75F you will get good results...no rooting solutions required. I also trim my clones well and look after the mother plants.

Above all one must be patient.. no matter what the method....don't play with them....give them a full 2 weeks and you should see roots.

I have had great success with clonex gel. I have also used olivia with good results to.I
have an ezclone thirty and recently i have been using nothing at all but tap h20 and getting great results. as far as bulk stuff, I am not really sure but i am sure if you use the search options you could find someone who knows. I have only tried this with certain strains and do not recommend that everyone stop using b1 and thiamine. Goodluck tree

i hear you. this guy at the grow store was telling me about a product named Humboldt Roots. he said when he uses it he starts to see roots in 3 days. he said the stuff was amazing. i was thinking about trying that out next. he said it was better than clonex and olivias

using the ez-cloner...just add water in all reality...

You can dip them in a cloning gel to prevent an embolism, but it will just wash right off as soon as you turn on the misters. Maybe the latent wash off helps, but I seriously doubt it. For that matter, dip in a glass of water to prevent the embolism, and place into the cloner...

Pretty ez.

fwiw I've heard many people claim that they're able to get much healthier roots much faster by running the aero cloner as an ewc tea brewrey, I personally just use plain water in mine with roots excelerator(not to speed up rooting though, this stuff will literally prevent slimy buildup in the cloner) I've seen roots as soon as 4 days although most will take between 7-10

i heard about people just using water but i would rather use something that makes the clones root quicker. i was just checking out the description of Humboldt Roots.

"Humboldt Roots is a highly concentrated organic root stimulant that expands the root zone during the critical growth stage. The soul of every plant resides in the roots. Many gardeners neglect this fact and concentrate on the visual aspects of their plants. A large yield is directly related to a plant’s metabolism rates, and plant metabolism rates are directly related to their root zones’ uptake of nutrients and fertilizers. Humboldt Roots was specifically designed to expand the root zone, resulting in larger yields through increased metabolism."

isnt this just a root stimulator and not meant to put in the aero cloner? is this a similar product to home & garden root stimulator?

is roots excelerator a similar product to Humboldt Roots. if so i think il use roots excelerator because i heard it was the best on the market. im starting to think that it would be a good idea to just use roots excelerator with some b-52 at 200ppm to help with the stress. what do you think?

does roots excelerator have the hormones in it to root clones like olivias?

i just took a quick look at the humbolt roots, it appears to be a close product to the h&g roots excel BUT it's application rate is 2ml per gal instead of 1ml per gal of the RE, the RE is actually cheaper to use suprisingly since it's one of the more expensive products i've purchased...fwiw I'd reccomend looking at GH Rapid Start it's another one of the same concoctions and cost about half as much as the roots excel, i've been using it instead of roots excel for about 4 months with equal results

great info thanks! my one concern is roots excel may not have the rooting hormones that is meant to root clones like olivias am i correct? if thats true than shouldnt we be adding something else to at least help the clones deal with the stress while rooting? im trying to basically figure out what the clones could be getting with olivias that there not getting with roots excel because olivias is specifically meant to root plants.

i think im gonna end up using a rooting solution plus roots excelerator. im thinking either clonex or olivias. thanks for the help guys

woods huh, nice. i cant find the application rate for that online. whats the application rate per gallon so i can compare prices? how do you think that compares to clonex and Dyna-Gro KLN?

if the price on woods is reasonable then the way i see it il probably choose between woods, clonex, and Dyna-Gro KLN. after some research i read some good things about kln. which one do you think i should choose guys? just to add the power clone is too expensive for me

i just found out that i guess you have to use Clonex Cloning Solution with the gel. im not feeling that so thats not an option for me anymore

i have a super love hate with e z cloners... ive owned over 8 throughout my life time... sometimes they are 100% death sometimes 100% life....

tips ive found to get to 100% life.

bleach between rounds.
run at 78-82 degrees for roots (above or below i get death)
and roots excelurator is by far the best root product on the market.
tap water with chlorine works better then ro water...

good luck
