Raw honey, or raw cacao powder?

I was making my morning batch of super fudge (if anybody wants the recipe its awesome!)... anyway, I got to wondering if using raw honey, instead of molasses, might be better? Im not going to list the whole nutritional profile right now, but its got a lot of vit. and minerals, similar to molasses. Also:

Different varietals of honey possess a large amount of friendly bacteria (6 species of lactobacilli and 4 species of bifidobacteria), which may explain many of the "mysterious therapeutic properties of honey."

Im no expert on bacteria, but maybe somebody with more know might be able to help me out a little here.

Also I was using raw cacao powder, which is a great super food for us, containing lots of antioxidants, magnesium, iron, etc (no sodium or sugars). Maybe top dressing with some cacao??

I dont know, maybe my morning bowl is stretchin my mind a little bit both of these seem like they might have potential! Anybody ever use either? :tiphat::dance013:

hmmm...I never knew this. Interesting considering honey's anti-bacterial properties! I have much to learn about honey. Great stuff.

I know that once it's mixed with water or diluted in any way all anti-bacterial properties go out the window, but this is all I know. I'd like to read up. It's definitely got all sorts of beneficial properties. I think some folks use it in cloning too.

Thats what i thought too, but something else interesting in that article said : " raw honey contains an enzyme called glucose oxidase that, when combined with water, produces hydrogen peroxide, a mild antiseptic."
I doubt in concentrations we would use it would produce a whole lot, but I found that interesting anyway.

I saw the Rev did an experiment where he tried replacing molasses with raw honey in an ACT recipe... the tea would not foam

^Hmm, when I boil Molasses Water in a pot it foams. Maybe its not neccessarily an indication of Microbial Success?

I'd totally Try Out that honey, I'd say any Raw Food can be Soil Food.

Using Honey in a beer certainly doesn't stop that from Fermenting. How about Mead? :V

As for Raw Cacao, I'm sure that would be an amazing top dressing.

I Definitely Admire your Choice of Food/ Plant Food. C:

raw cacao is supposed to be one of the most concentrated superfoods out there. it accumulates a ton of micronutrients.

Good to know about the cacao, although after some thought I think Im just gonna eat it, its too good, and kinda expensive! The honey I might experiment with at some point, I love eating raw honey, Im sure my girls would like a little too...

SuperFudge Recipe plz!

Here you go! This stuff is awesome, I eat it all the time, super power food! Everything can be changed around as you see fit!

1 cup extra virgin coconut oil
2/3 cup raw honey
1 cup raw cacao powder
~1/3 cup peanut butter
vanilla
as many add ins as you see fit, I use hemp seeds, and sometimes raisins

stir everything till combined, pour in saran wrap lined pyrex ~8"x 6" or whatever, or not lined, but its hard to cut if you dont.

refridgerate till hard, or freeze if you need to eat it (what I do) till hard.

bang it out, take it out of plastic, cut into squares, and enjoy the goodness! It gets melty fast in the summer so eat fast!
:tiphat:

**dont try to use normal baking coco or honey, it will not taste very good!**

Raw honey is badass and I would love to do a side by side sometime to see if a difference can be noted between using honey and molasses in ACT preparations.

also gonna sub raw almond butter for PB
that's a good idea mad, once you get the base of coconut oil, cacao, and honey down, and try it, you can pretty much customize the recipe to whatever you want, its pretty much impossible to mess up. Good idea with the hash oil, might have to try that one!

It's summer now, so the coconut oil is liquid, but in the winter you have to find a way to lightly heat the oil up without cookin it.. i think i just put it on low on the stove till it was a little soft. Have fun, you won't be disappointed if you decide to make it!
