Blackstar 180w LRr2: The First Mission

I have a Vertigo plant in full flower at just 19 days since germination. I now understand just how spectacular autos can be, I've yanked the LR2's had so much hope in and will send them outside to rot or flower, whichever they choose. I'm not giving up on autos, it just looks like some bad seeds.

:)-)

Killerweed,

Here's a picture of the "Slowryders" after I pulled them from the cab:

To me it looks like they are in reveg. There are just scattered pistils with lots of leaf growing from the bud sites:

Since March 24 I had been running them at 12/12 for a week and then at 16/8. I have some Nordic varietied in the cab that were started under 16/8 that are already showing preflowers

and a Vertigo autoflower that is showing nice little pistil filled buds at 20 days.

The Slowryders were not autos. Needless to say, it was a big disappointment.

glad to hear your next one is preforming like it should

OKiHai,

Thanks. Yes, the Vertigo is doing well.

The seed germinated on April 1st, my cat fimmed her at about 10 days. Now I have this open long legged plant:

She's just shy of 17 inches tall:

With this open growth pattern I am getting good light coverage throughout the canopy:

I've popped 2 more Vertigos and a Pandora for a little fun under the sun. Paradise says they can hit three feet.

The long node spacing must be inherent in Vertigo. I started several outdoor plants at the same time and they have nice stocky growth. Here's a picture from last week with Vertigo rising above the crowd ( in the middle of the back row)

Your new pics are only opening halfway for me. Old ones open fine though. Tried reloading with the same result.

Anyway, the slowryder2 certainly isn't behaving like an auto is supposed to. It does seem to have reveged on you. Probably going to have to go 12/12 on her. Might as well grow 'em out. Could be some killer stuff.

I don't understand what is wrong with the pics. I'm loading them all the same. Same camera, same editing program, same upload.

It's not an Auto for certain. I got the seeds from a place that I've learned sells all knockoffs. I'm pretty sure these are F1's from a cross in their auto breeding. I think they made a mistake in labeling as they seemed aware of the problem when I contacted them. Not one single plant out of 10 autoed though all are genetic dwarfs like old school autos.

Anyway, the three bushy ladies are going into three guerrilla sites. Just for the sake of trying, I plan to dust them with a licorice scented hashplant that has autoflowered .

I'm smoking the leaves now and getting off pretty well. Still ticked because I should have been smoking nice fat buds...

Claude Rocker-> are they getting enough light? why does it look so dark in that photo? Im willing to bet that Ruderalis that is so obviously present in the stalks and the buds aren't quite getting the light they're gonna need in full sunlight during their normal high summer exposures. I also think that there are very subtle pheramones that are emitted by the plants which are responsible for the full development of the flowers that you are growing which DeFininty need some fresh breazes. Them stalks help the plant get some new juices flowing and I think that maybe you be wanting some extra K in your ferts recipe, its the strength builder G: )Dem stalks gonna be getting boomba fat if you stress them out and then keep your fan on high the whole time so they get the 1000 different angles of light on the leaf surface. Such is natural growing.

:bump:Hey Claude- I read your comment on the last page. Not sure how I could have missed it! You know I think that 18" might be too high dogg. Just wondering if you can put it around 8-9" and can you somehow put the plants on an angle? I've been noticing much more aggresive growth with these god-fir-saken LED POs-s when the light is at an angle. I hate to say it, but I think the plants struggle with the heads down light that the LED produces. The companies all lie about the angle of the light, and if yours isn't really at 60deg like my diodes are posed to be, then that could explain some of the rediculous difficulties you are having. I can't wait to try this second round of breading with my 8 little homies I pumped out a few days ago. Weird leaf shapes to say the least. Anyways, I gotta get a HPS or MH light to bud with so that I can get a good flush on these AFS. The damn big girl got harvested, but she didn't fill out like she could have. I primarily (well totally) blame the light. It seems to work great as a veg supplement, since my Afs will be OD hogs.

Later :blowbubbles:

Skullz,

The plants look dark because I turned off all the lights but a cfl so that my camera wouldn't be overwhelmed with all the light.

I'm extremely happy with the LED and CFL combo I am using now. I'm getting aggressive growth and now good flowering. The buds are really stacking up nice and dense (I use my jewelers magnifying glasses a lot)

I'm pretty much done with this thread now. The LR2's were sent to exile at a guerrilla preserve nearby. I'll post a harvest report on them here this summer fall -if I should be so blessed. Their troubles were genetic as all my other plants have done very well under the lights. I hope you'll check out my new Vertigo thread here in the auto section for updates.

Just an update on what were supposed to be Lowryder2s:

There are two left outside. Both are huge: five feet tall and nearly as wide.

Cool, at least they didn't go to waste Claude.

Did you figure out if they were semi-AF? You might get some early-ish smoke..
