1200w Vertical Tent-LVPK and Blackberry Kush

Hey guys whatsup!! I'm pretty excited, finally got some stuff set up for my vert tent. Strains are LVPK and Blackberry Kush, I haven't run them before so any tips on those are appreciated.

I'm running straight Canna Coco, GH 3 part (Rezipe) in #2 pots, 12 plants on the back wall and 8 on the other 2 (3 walls total, not using the main opening)for a total of 28. It's going to be a nice mix of BBK and LVPK. Like I said, I've never run either so I'm going to pick the more suitable cut to monocrop and start dialing this bad boy in.

The tent is 5x5x7 (Secret Jardin Pro II). I only have 1 600 set up now, but I"m going to get the other one next week. I'm running a staggered harvest, each wall will be at different stages of flower. I only have 1 pic for now, but bear with me :bump::bump:

Sorry for the sideways pic...I swear its a vert grow lol :moon::moon:

Thanks!

I can't really get that bulb to go any higher in the tent...should I move the top shelf down a little or is that height good? I'm gonna stack another 6 under it..

i would move both down as its always better to have the head room for stretch and excess heat...

how's that tent working?

nice grow

yea i agree, bring them down if you can.

and regarding the ducting/light, you could use the black straps that came with the tent to pull the ducting closer towards the bar. I see the chain has some slack too. i have mine pressed against the ceiling since its flexible so it goes past the bar height. and yeah mine doesn't move up or down, i just adjust plants around.

Thanks I will do. The tent is very nice, super reflective, I'm pretty happy with it no complaints.

My set up is Scrubber->Inline->600. To drop the lights I'm definitely going to need a shorter scrubber, probably a Can one.

Shout out to everyone that helped me with the planning for this!!

Thanks for the comments everyone, I'm definitely going to get some better pics sometime this week. I'm having some kind of deficiency, not sure what it is but I flushed the coco and am going to do some investigative work

Got ya guys some new pics. Only have 1 600 hangin for now, by the end of the week I'm going to have the second 6, wrap up the wood, and get the water system set up. Can anyone help me with the leaf issue I'm having? I've been running GH 6/9 @ 75%, no cal mag. I use tap water and have a tap ppm of about 225. My temps are low, like 71-75 with lights on, and it gets rather cold at night, low to mid 60s. I also have a bit of a thrip problem. I have a bottle of spinosad in bound, so until then...

Going to use the other wall space for a smaller set of shevles

Here are some more pics. I lowered the light today and added the second 600, although I didn't fire it on because I forgot to bring the ballast! Doh

Having some kind of issue as you can see, I was watering with 75% GH 6/9, but last 2 have been full strength with 2.5ml/g GH calmag (wasn't watering with cal mag previously)

I also have a thrip problem with spinosad on its way..

I'd say this might be your problem. Mine is slightly higher than yours.....I have had a plant go from healthy to horrible 24 hrs after giving it straight tap water.

Nice grow other wise. Good luck

Hi Chris, cool tent! How are you dealing with the run off?

Thanks HGO. Well right now I'm hand watering, and a little run off has been going on, but once I hook up the water system I plan to have little to no run off, with any run off just evaporating with how much air is moving around. I need to buy some poly to wrap up the wood, but I need other important things so I gotta wait til I get some more funds. Do ya think gutters or something is mandatory? I'm using drip clean

Hi Marlo. Thanks for the input. I have access to an RO unit, however it is not at the grow location and storing 100 gallons or whatever of RO just seems like a hassle. I may have to get a small RO unit if I can't fix the problem...

Hey guys, got the other 600 hung. How is the bulb height now? My temps are hovering right around 79. I'm not using any intake, so I think I can get them a little better. The highest it got yesterday was 83 and it is 100 degrees outside. Night temps are still low, 63, but once I figure out how to work this thermostat I'll be dialed in temp wise.

Still having leaf issue. Sprayed today with spinosad to put an end to the thrip issue. Also I noticed some tiny gnats hovering around...I have a pic of one. This is my first try and coco and definitely has been bumpy lol

Last 2 days I watered with a 6/10 Micro/Bloom GH per gal, with 3ml/g GH Calmag. I watered today with a stronger solution of 10/15 and 4 ml/g cal mag. Recommended is 5ml/g for a light feeding...

Also added drip clean to my res @.4ml/g

Blackberry Kush- This plant was actually the top half to another plant and soil, it broke in half and I got it to root lol.

Any idea when to flip? I've never run either strain. My other 2 walls are going to be installed soon and will be filled with vegged blackberry kush cuts and then put in once the others are the main wall is into flower

Chris1- Good job on getting things set up. Why the cool tubes? I thought we agreed that they rob you of light... Air exchange 2x a minute for environmental control.

Anyway... Like Marlo said, I think you need to use some RO water 50/50 with tap, I used to have fans that looked like that too when I used straight tap.

You have a lot of space between the levels on your shelves imo... You should definitely veg those plants a little while longer so they fill in that space. Don't be like me and rush into flowering... Do it right the first time, and wait 2-3 weeks...

Edit: for your feed system, you can run the 1/2" tubing along the shelves, and insert the feed lines... You just have to get creative with your entry points. I have all sorts of extra elbows and tees... I use a combination of hard and flexible tubing... Back at University and in most green houses I've been in, they run the water overhead, with 1/4" drip tubing coming down to the plants. That's how I'm going to try and do things in the future. I haven't built it yet, but I'm going to pump the water up to 1 main feed ring, and have the drip-line hang down and go to the plants... and if you put a T in the line, then you can just run 1 line for each column, with a split at each level. Can you picture what I have in my head? lol

Chris - Those purple stems "might" be a sign of Cal-Mag deficiency I had the very same issue until Bobble and DHF told me to add some Cal-Mag to my nutrient schedule, please get it confirmed with someone else also BUT I think it might help you a bit ALSO if your running into temp issue's Silica (Silica Blast) will help build up and create robust cell wall tissue whcih does help with temperature issue's as well...just an FYI.

It looks like both strains are a little stressed. I think you should get them happier before flip, the nats may well be winged root aphids. I think you would be wise to treat the plants for root aphids (imid containing product). The after treating for root aphids, give them some root booster for a day or two.

Hydrosun is right... everyone running coco seems to get the RA at some point... That's why Mega and I are using SM-90 at 5mL per gallon with our regular feed. You need something like Bayer Tree & Shrub or Ortho MAX with Imid to kill them dead... and keep it that way with SM-90.

Bobble-Thanks for the input bro. I went with cool tubes so I could easily control the temps for the summer. My fan is 400cfm in a 175ft3 room so I'm right at that 2x exchange. I'm not using intake and my temps are right at 79. Think I could switch to bare bulb? Ambient room temp gets down to 69 with lights on. I'll let them fill in before I flip. It's good to have a second opinion on this stuff who knows what I'd be doing without you guys haha. I've never set up a water system so it should be interesting no doubt.

Megayields-I've been feeding calmag the last 3 days at 4ml/gallon. The bottler recommends 5ml/g for a light feeding. Is running calmag My room temps are really cold at night like upper 60s, could that be adding to the purple stems?

Hydro-You think I should cut off a 600 and let them bounce back a little?

You guys rule

Are 2 gallon pots ok for those 9 or should I transfer into something bigger? Anyone think perpetual is going to be an issue in here? I have another shelf built and I can put 12 rooted blackberrys after I veg em up a bit

I think the light is fine, but the plants are stressed (not from cal/mag def) but root problems. I would whack the bugs and give about a week or so for root repair. As the purple stems go away you'll know you are doing it right. Your temps are perfect and not contributing to the purple.
