Bobble-Thanks for the input bro. I went with cool tubes so I could easily control the temps for the summer. My fan is 400cfm in a 175ft3 room so I'm right at that 2x exchange. I'm not using intake and my temps are right at 79. Think I could switch to bare bulb? Ambient room temp gets down to 69 with lights on. I'll let them fill in before I flip. It's good to have a second opinion on this stuff who knows what I'd be doing without you guys haha. I've never set up a water system so it should be interesting no doubt.

Megayields-I've been feeding calmag the last 3 days at 4ml/gallon. The bottler recommends 5ml/g for a light feeding. Is running calmag My room temps are really cold at night like upper 60s, could that be adding to the purple stems?

Hydro-You think I should cut off a 600 and let them bounce back a little?

You guys rule

Are 2 gallon pots ok for those 9 or should I transfer into something bigger? Anyone think perpetual is going to be an issue in here? I have another shelf built and I can put 12 rooted blackberrys after I veg em up a bit

There is no wrong way here... I'm just trying to help you maximize your light. You're temps are under control, and that's great... But lots of guys have taken down the cool tubes, put a fan under the stack, and the filter right above... and all the heat gets drawn straight out of the room.

With air exchange 2x a minute your temps can go as high as 85F w/o worry, and long as you're keeping them fed b/c increased temperatures mean increase metabolism and transpiration.

Personally I don't plan on running a perpetual room again... 1 cycle... If you're doing it from seed, make them all long flowering sativas, or all fast flowering indica and sativas... It's easy to make mistakes when you have a bunch of different plants in different stages.

The only real reason I'm running a staggered harvest is because of the lack of clone power. When my mothers were given to me, they were in bad shape and took a while before they even had any viable clones. My blackberry kush mother is looking great now, I need to give her a hair cut.

I'm going to get those 9 to a good size and flip, then get another 18 blackberrys to a nice size and add them to the other 2 walls. It's really the only option I have right now besides only flowering the main wall and then have all the plants ready to go right after...decisions, decisions

Here's a pic of that little bastard bug flying around. I've honestly seen these for a couple weeks now but I've just been busy as fuck...

I sprayed with spinosad yesterday for the thrip issue. I have quite a few issues going right now lol

I am glad to see them getting better. Did you get the IMID into the nute mix to kill the root aphids?

Also I want to tell you in advance that the BBK makes some nice crystals and smells better than any strain I've ever grown; however the high is 3 out of 10. It is a great flavor for light smokers, but if you are a daily smoker the BBK will leave you disappointed.

Chris - Yes cold temps can lead to purpling, BUT I defer to other comments from MUCH smarter peeps in here than I. Also it seems like your battling many issue's atm so ...good luck! lol,

you'll do fine bro!

Hey guys, everything is looking a LOT better since upping the calmag and nutrient solution. Everything is a lot more full looking, more branching and things are getting taller. I'll get some pics up soon.

Hydro-Thanks for the heads up on the BBK.

jgrow-Thanks man!

mega-Yea since upping the calmag things have looked much much better although the stems are a little purple. My temps have been getting quite high/low (peak of 85, low of 65). Once I go into flower I'm 100% running the lights at night and I should be able to keep things a lot closer..

Hey Chris, I have similar tap water and grow both of those strains, maybe I can help.
I think if using your tap then no need for cal mag. Other lvpk growers might have a different opinion but I think the red stems and petioles come from salt buildup and lockout. lvpk seems to get these fast when she is unhappy. if the balance isnt just right in hydro or coco she gets all red, i havnt had this prob in dirt. I say flush with 5-600ppm nutes, get good runoff, then feed em once aroun 7-900ppms.
could be that and/or damage from the thrips, they will make plants look fucked up.
good luck

Chris1 - Getting your temps within a 10 degree range should be a goal of yours, Bobble has it down to 5 degree's how the FUCK he does that I do not know LOL, thats why I listen to HIM and do what he says....I am still struggling but getting pretty close to a 10 degree range in temps, once I hit and maintane that then I will shoot to narrow that down.

I am SO glad the Cal-Mag is making a difference, for me it was literally Night and DAy difference, once I used some Cal-Mag, Drip-Clean, SM90 and Silica holy cow was their a difference OH SIlica might be useful as well as it builds up the cell walls to make the plant more robust, I have a sense it "might" help them with large temperature swings as well, I simply have made it part of my feeding regime now.

Good luck and DO get us some pictures we love POT PORN!

Thanks cyat, this is my first run with coco and lvpk so this is great info. Unfortunately I have more than 1 issue so it's hard to really isolate whats fucking with my girls

Mega-Once I run 12/12 through the night I think I can easily be within 10 degrees. Everything has really popped off since I upped the calmag so I appreciate you and everyones input. Pics soon fosho!!!!

I definitely need to get my cloning/veg down so they are more uniform in size...I'm gonna rock the shit out of this tent once I get things figured out

I wouldn't flip until they have reached the top of the shelf above, then I'd train to the middle, I'd also probably raise the light to the top of the tent.

Just my thoughts.

:yeahthats

You've got a good 2 weeks of veg at least... Remember, I was in a rush to flower mine... and I flipped them even though they were growing slow, and then it turned out I had root aphids and the whole grow was screwed from there. Get those plants big and healthy, and you'll be much happier come harvest.
