400w Vertical Organic Satori x c99

So as the title states this is going to be a pretty un-dialed in attempt at some satori x c-99 (flt f5) beans I made from my last run. This will be my first time attempting a summer grow, and also first time vertical, first time using this grow space (going to use it for veg only in fall/winter/spring). It's already been a little bumpy already, but it will give me something fun to do this summer, as my outdoor grows usually turn into giant fails.
I'll try to keep this updated reguraly, and will add more pictures in a couple days when things start goin more. I had some early setbacks when they were seedlings (my soil wasnt ready so I used miracle grow organic potting soil, and something fucky happened... but now they are getting back on track.)

Forgot to mention the space is aprox 3x3x3 feet, they are aprox. 2 weeks from breaking soil, and they are in 1 gallon pots of homemade recycled soil from the last run. Not sure why I posted that pic 4 times, or why they look kinda yellow, but I will get some new pictures up tomorrow.

Ok, little update here... nothing too major goin on. These are a few days after the first pic, so everything is growin along nice
Also I forgot to mention I have 2 c-99s going in there as well. They are noticably smaller, as they were last round, so the satori has definately imparted some mandala vigor into the cross. My mandala plants are always bigger and more robust then whatever they are growing next to.
Also is a pic of the satori mother. I didnt have a ton of choices to work with, so Im not expecting miracles from these seeds, but she was nice and greasy (not dry like the other plants) and she had a nice garage fuel smell to her. I will try to dig up some finished shots of the flt c-99 from last round if anybody is interested.

Satori was on top of my wishlist, until recently, when its price doubled...

Check out my grow (in my sig) as i also rock bare bulb vertically, but on smaller scale...

Cool, I think I got it to work, thanks for the help! Satori is great, I've grown it 3 or 4 times now from seed and it never fails to impress. Some phenos can be a bit leafy, and maybe not all that interesting taste wise, but they are very strong plants (which have stood up to much abuse in the past) with a very nice high. I think mandala's genetics are great for people who dont have everything dialed in perfect and need a plant that doesnt have to have perfect conditions to produce.

so here there are at 3 weeks old, nothing too exciting going on. everybody is coming along like they are sopose to, so I cant complain.

im already spotting some early males, thanks to pinecones early sexing thread, and past grows where I guess right but kept them around for fear that I would throw out a female. at this point im just gonna keep everybody in there for another week, then start transplanting the females and getting rid of the males.

got an ushio hps bulb coming this week, so im going to change out the mh conversion bulb, kind of sick of the reduced lumens bs... if im gonna be having a super hot bulb in there ill just throw a hps in there and get all the lumens out of it.

well that's it, ill probably just do a weekly update from this point out.

You have to look real close, and have some confidence in your decision... if you dont have that just guess for a grow or two and keep track of your guesses.. you will probably find that youre right 90% if the time. I was right on all of them last grow, but I was just in denial that some of my best plants were males lol.

Not sure how long Im gonna veg, depends on how many females I have... basically as long as it takes to fill it up in there... more females = less veg, less females =more veggin.

Thanks for checkin it out! It's a long road ahead to fill it up around that bulb but once it is, it will be pretty interesting i think. Peace! and nice job rockin it with a 250, everything looks top notch.

thanks! It's a self made cross from one of my female mandala satori plants crossed with my best looking fairlight c-99 male (they were on seedbay a while ago for only 35$. got some really nice females out of the pack as well). I dont really know what to expect from this cross as I was just chucking around a little pollen for fun, so we will see. So far I like what I see, they all seem to be growing well, but we will see when the bud start poppin. Im using these seeds kind of as a test because this is my first round with this setup and also vert, so I didnt want to ruin good seeds experimenting (Ive got some deep strawberry diesel to run next round )

Also in the room is 2 left over FLT c-99 plants, so if one is a female there will be some of those buds in there as well.

hey thanks for checkin it out! Yes, Ive got some mulch in there, a combo of decaying wood i scavanged from the woods, leaf mold, and a few other scraps of stuff on my trip to the woods. I also went on a random field hunt recently and picked whatever looked like it would make good mulch, along with some chives and oregano lol. Gonna mix that up with some old dried mj leaf I had laying around and add to the mulch when I repot the girls.

Speaking of which, Im about to go in there and take out some males, still on 18/6 but I know those crabby balled male preflowers when I see them, and they gotta go!

Back from doin the dirty work... took out 5 males, all pretty obvious.. i think.. i hope haha. whatever, too late to second guess now, but ive always delayed pulling suspected males in the past and they always just end up taking up space, only to be pulled in flower. so this time no second chances show balls and youre out. So that leaves me with 4 satori x c-99 (couple def females and a couple havent shown yet, hopfully they arent late males), and 2 c-99 neither of which have shown sex yet, but Im hopful that they are girls. Also there are 4 slightly neglected satorixc-99 in 2L soda bottles.... they are just bumper plants... ive found in the past the neglected ones make nice single cola plants that fit in nice anywhere.

sooo 6 would be perfect, 4 would even be ok, would just let them veg longer. new ushio bulb comin in tomorrow, gonna switch that out, probably let them go in these pots for another week, then into their final pots once I inspect them a little more.

one interesting note, when I was dumping the males, the mulch did a fantastic job, there were roots poking all out of the top of the soil, and the roots in the container looked great, tons of white fishbone roots. Thats all for now!

yeah, satori is sativa all the way. Im not sure exactly what to expect to be honest, i liked the satori and i liked the c-99 so it should at least be interesting. My hope is that I find some plants with buds that are more satori in highness, with the c-99 helping the bud structure and look mostly. The satoris ive grown are always plenty potent and have a nice high, but they tend to be a bit leafy. The c-99 on the other hand was very tight and not leafy at all. Whatever happens though I think it will be interesting. Thanks for checkin it out!
