TG- It may be difficult for some people to appreciate the size of that plant... The 300 gallon smartpot is 6 feet wide and nearly 2 feet deep. That plant will be out to the edges of the pot in a week or 10 days...

:thank you: It's helping that the weather is on my side this year and the genetics I'm putting in to play are more the "large marge" type.

Here's another Betsy just doin' her thing...

I am worried about running out of soil to keep a plant the size these will grow in to healthy over the course of the year but luckily the Betsy is early and hopefully I can put together a hard enough working soil that I don't have too many problems.

Going to start foliar spraying as soon as I get a new pump for my ATV sprayer and hook my irrigation up in the coming week. One big thing this year was I did not start them on the irrigation like last year..I have been using a hose and wand to "hand water" my smart pots in an effort to establish my plants with a stronger root system. I'm also ditching the misters in favor of the emitter tape every one else is using. The sprayers are cool but I think they gave me some stem rot problems last year. With the pruning program I'm putting in to play this year and switching to drippers and all the MycoStop, Companion, Plant Shield and Mykos I've been throwing at them I'm hoping it'll work out.

i was taking some photos of my plants the other day, the relative size of the 6' wide 24" tall smart pots dwarf the plants and make them look much smaller than in person, sort of an illusion.

edit: from running those size beds this season, i can really appreciate a plant of that size at this point in the season. my vigorous varietals are half that size.

Ah Hell, I dont want to even take any pictures of my outdoor garden after seeing my Younger Sons set up.
He has mostly mostly Kush plants: Some Headbands, LA Confs, and OG Kushes. There are also some hazes I gave him from the winter run. Nevilles, Maui Wowi, SSH, Panama. His plants a\re gargantuas compared to mine. Even his tomatoes are about 3 feet in diameter. He is already eating Cukes. Peppers. Un real. Fuckin lil green thumb

Hello everyone

Decided to get up in the tree today since we'll be pruning tomorrow (Moon in Virgo). Everything is really jumping now that the sun is out and the temps are up.

Just poking my head in to say hey and that all is well here at Rancho De Rootwise.....

Overall, a smaller and much more manageable crop is the goal this year. 1/3 is Dutchgrown genetics, another 1/3 Chem D, and the last are ChemD/GDP crosses after seeing the clone in two other gardens over the last couple years she proved worthy.

Have fun out there-

Beautiful as always, RW. I'm with you on the "smaller and more manageable" tip.

That ChemDxGDP sounds fun.

Props to all you guys. great thread and im just at page 26 and wow! i hope the answer is not on the next page as Im going right back to it, but question for the people adding trenches. do you have a se to nw direction or any preference for the trench layout, maybe in line with prevailing wind or? Also, does trenching end at the proposed drip line or are they continuous thru the garden? Do they have any value in flooding, to hold more water? sorry, thats kindof 3 questions, so i'll go back to 26 now. :)
very very impressed with everything, now this is just about perfect for my overgrown new holland toy :)

Here's a few shitty pics of three of my girls.

They were planted in mid March. Now that we are almost to Summer these should double in size. The red shovel is put there for scale and is five feet.

Pic 1 is a Jack Herer triple.
Pic 2 is an Elephant Ear.
Pic 3 is one of my Thai crosses.
