Documenataries - Whats good people??

This seems to be kind of a tired thread at this point but would recommend the 3 disc series 'The Power of Nightmares'. Pretty sure it's a BBC series but anyway for me helped me understand the roots of the radical Islamic movement with Sayyid Kutb and some Neo Conservative college professor based in Michigan or Minnesota as the counter. Quite fascinating I thought!

Kutb spent time in the US in the early 50's and ended up being the driving force behind Anwar Sadat's assassination and the radical Islamic movement in general. Interesting parallels between the root cause of the radical Islamic movement and the Neo Converative's which really expressed itself in the Bush administration.

Definitely recommended!

It's about the rise of politics of fear...Leo Strauss was the college professor I mentioned.

At the least a worth watch.

i don't think you are looking for this one as it doesn't mention anything about the theory that aids was bio-engineered.
BUT this doc is must-see on the subject of aids anyway. takes away much of the fear that has been built up around it.

Zeitgeist: Moving Forward, by director Peter Joseph, is a feature length documentary work which will present a case for a needed transition out of the current socioeconomic monetary paradigm which governs the entire world society.

This subject matter will transcend the issues of cultural relativism and traditional ideology and move to relate the core, empirical "life ground" attributes of human and social survival, extrapolating those immutable natural laws into a new sustainable social paradigm called a "Resource-Based Economy".

"Why use up the forests which were centuries in the making and the mines which required ages to lay down, if we can get the equivalent of forest and mineral products in the annual growth of the hemp fields?" - Henry Ford

The War on Kids.......an amazing documentary about the drugging of our children, the lack of decent quality education. It is pretty eye opening, and it makes you think long and hard about the future of our country.

The war is on US...but they always try to start with the kids. Religion is the same way...HOW do you get someone to BELIEVE the truly crazy? Start the lies when they're babies.

We are so "directed" that it's sad. We're led around by the nose every day. The "education system" should be called the propaganda system.

Boys do NOT learn in a "sit down and shut up", classroom environment...that's how girls learn. Boys are visual, hands on...that's how WE learn. Unfortunately, it's not as quiet and orderly...hence we boys get labeled as "problem children" and given drugs to "quiet us down". Don't even get me started about WHAT they teach.

I think someone mentioned Inside Job (2010) earlier in this thread, just got a chance to see it the other day and would highly recommend it. Very interesting info about the financial crash and the personal lives of the people involved.
