lilgreensprout has given some great advice that I'd love to second!
It really is like 80 bucks or more to have one of those sensor probes replaced if they die from not staying in the calibration solution. That's fucked up. Cuz the pens are like what? 100? A little more?
PG

p.s. One time my buddy had both of the pens (Ph and the PPM pen) and forgot which one to keep wet..he must have been real lit. Anyways, he ended up having to buy a new Ph pen. Learned his lesson, while his PPM pen sat in a capful of water or something haha...

Just finished Panda Plastic'ing the door that enters the grow room. Fresh Panda Plastic cut about 1.5 Feet bigger than the door all the way around. I sealed myself in the room with the plastic really tight over the door and then stuck one of those tarp zippers to it and sliced a hole down the middle where the zipper is.

This is WAY easier, allows for fully lightproof doorway and is easy to unzip and have full access.

Also, Just cleared out some space under the workbench in my garage and hung a shoplight for cloning and moms.

The plan will be to run a 9 Bucket RDWC system NOT a 12... I feel the yield will be unaffected due to better use of the light.

the extra 3 plants will now be bonzai moms kept year round in veg under the workbench.

Finally, getting this thing dialed.

Clipped 2 trinity clones, 2 sweet tooth clones and 2 Island Sweet Skunk clones.

The best of each will be a mom :)

If I ever want to run something different, I'll trade clones and then replace the mom if I really like.

Man, wish I could have more plants just to keep some variety around.

But this is legal, and still works great.

I'll post some pics tonight

I love your updates man. Great stuff.

Smart choice on the staying legal beagle - much respect. I've got a similar, though maybe opposite, situation on my hands, ..

I've got more genes than I can handle at once, .. I've got three brand-new-to-me varieties, all vegging right now, .. And no new room 'til July.. By the time I put the veggers in, come July, they'll be completely unruly - at least for my needs & space.

It kind of sucks, and then I realize it's kind of a cool problem to have, and then I realize again that it sucks.

I think I oughtta just cannbilize 'em before I flip 'em, give the cuttings to a buddy to keep alive in his sprayer --> ebb n gro dealio, until needed, repeat.

haha.... good problem.... but still a problem.

you could always clone them for yourself and then trash the originals...lol

or, you could bonzai them and just keep them small and get that stalk huge that should support some big nugs come flower time.

The timing thing is always more of a pain than it seems when starting out.

Crossing my fingers this time...

I keep telling myself, I'm in the right place, at the right time, all the time.

Try it!

Peace

Oh and about the Liquid and Powdered, I'm not using either.

I have the powdered but they don't need anything right now.

I added some Advanced Factor X or something X.... can't remember right now....
Anyways it has magnesium and some other goodies to help with what the Maxi was lacking if anything... plus it's clear.

Its strange that the KoolBloom labels don't say anything about the differences and how to use them like the posting by MERLOT. But I'll wait... I think I'll use Big Bud... and then Kool Bloom Powder to finish.

Hmmm.... :chin:

Them 1k horties really kick some ass, and with them T5's
running like that, phrases like "Full Spectrum" and "Full coverage"
come to mind.....Looking killer, peace.

Thanks Guys!!!

I'm handicapped by this MacBook, cant get my photos uploaded correctly.

They look right, then I upload and they are sideways.... ugh, wait a pain in the ass

Promise, I'll be back soon...

Besides! it was boring as all hell the last couple weeks... haha, until I compared photos, damn, things have blown up!!!

Next Round:

Replace the 3/4 inch crappy tubing with stuff from the hydro shop.

Run only 9 buckets so that I can maximize light coverage.

3 mom plants running at all times in another room...

Once clipped, 12/12 after maximum 10 days veg.

Oh! Oh!

and I switched to the Flora Nova Liquid Nutes for Lucas instead of the Powdered Maxibloom.

I love the Powdered stuff, but will pay more not to have to shake that stuff for 5 minutes every day. (Damn waterfarms... can't wait to have the full system running next round)

Peace!!!

@ sotf - So Sweet and Citrus'y in here... can't wait for some #4!!! and thanks for stopping by. :dance013:

@ Phillthy - thanks, I'm loving this side lighting and can't wait to use it to it's full potential with 9 plants on the next run with an even canopy.... this time, it's been interesting.

Hard to believe that the 2 soil were planted months ago while the large hydro was not that long.... and the RDWC hydro plants were JUST started a week before flower... Ahhhh to be done with the waterfarms... and the non-stop filling of water and nutes. Soon... Very soon.

Have you ever tried grafting?

I've got a mother that has 4 strains on her, she's bonsai in a 2 gallon bucket and about 1.5' tall little less than 2' across I'd guess, maybe smaller. Last hair cut gave me 45 cuttings that could have been rooted. :dance013:

DUDE! I was just talking about grafting last night... can you throw a picture up on here, i'm super curious.

Okay, if you say it works, I'm in. I would love to have some variety and still keep my numbers legal.

Hmmm... Should I start reading or can you give me the lowdown in a a few words?

This vid inspired me, ;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGhWLaTopL4

I kept my single strain moms until I could complete several side by side grows of clones from the singe strain mom and same strain from the grafted mom,.... couldn't tell em apart!!! That's good enough for me! :D

I'm fixing in another month or so to start my first grafted flowering experiment. Did the graft earlier this week, and it's already starting to improve! :dance013:

I'll have a 2 month Vege blueberry SCROG with a single node of Vanniluna on it! :pimp3: I'm doing this to see if flowering a graft will effect the outcome. I'm looking at the structure, timing, flavor and effect. For a baseline I've got a non grafted Vanniluna going to flower at the same time.

I'd snap a pic of the graftomum, but I left the camera at my sisters house over the holiday!:

I've seen plenty of references to grafting, and thought it was kind of interesting but not very practical if you weren't doing it on a commercial scale (like grafting fruit trees to wild stock for vigor), until you said the above... That's a pretty amazing thought :tiphat:
