BD Week 5, Day 3

BD Week 5, Day 3

I'm beginning to wonder if this is actually Blue Dream, and not Blue Dragon, ..

I'm a little hopeful, anyway. I got some finished Blue Dragon flowers, and while the smoke certainly wasn't BAD, it wasn't exactly memorable.. Kind of a mellow, so-so, middle-of-the-road smoke. (I'd be happy with it, no doubt, but also wouldn't be bummed if it was something else).

And now that I'm looking at how this gal looks, vs. some other Dragon's I've seen finishing (namely, the place from which this cut came), .. I'm wondering.

Anyway, let's go with the eyebleach

I've currently got 4 cuts that could possibly be only 2 :frown:

BD is looking very nice which either cut you got! :tiphat:

Update-o-rama

Just got back from a week out of town.. Got a smidgen of a powdery mildew issue going on. The ladies vegging are the most affected, though my flowering AK-47 has a few hotspots on it. Just got back from the store with some fixit. Will be treating today.

I'm expecting the BD to come down around 6-22, and the GC and PD a couple weeks after that, .. Those are the 60-day markers, anyway. From there, it's all by the seat of our pants..

One thing I have decided is that the Headband (veg only now) will DEFINITELY be in the next batch. Maybe will BE the next batch. Who knows.

Too bad about the PM. Otherwise your garden looks great.

What is fixit? Can you just cut the infected leafs off?

As you can probably tell I know nothing of PM.

By "fixit," I just meant whatever product would do the trick, .. As it turns out, I got a bottle of Mildew Cure. 1.5 oz/gal, spray, should be good. The guy at the store said he's had good success with it, so let's see.

The flowering ladies (aside from the AK) seem to be unaffected. (Can you hear me knocking on wood?) The storeman said he's even used it as late as 6-7 weeks into flowering, with no issues. (Don't soak it, just spray, let it sit, and then direct a fan over the sprayed area for a few minutes.)

I've been battling humidity for some time (got it in check now - thanks, dehuey), and I think that's a part of the problem. I also had the three affected plants crowded more than they probably should've been (half space-saver, half not paying attention). Airflow could've been better, etc. It's how we learn! :joint:

Thanks for the kudos! Not too shabby for my first organic grow (first grow since 2000), but I've got lots to learn. And am learning!

Temps are no bueno. Just ran home for a quick second, temps around 88, .. That, I can live with. Would prefer a few clicks lower, but fine. But, I've noticed some nighttime (nighttime!) highs in the low-90's..

I'm wondering what's in store for me as summer really gets into full swing, .. (I'm also running without a central AC unit right now, and the tent sits in the furnace room, .. So I'm hopeful that once the new AC unit comes in, that the tent/furnace room will cool down a bit.)

Who knows. I'm actually a little unsure of whether or not to prep for a next run, or if it's just best to shut'er down 'til the fall.

Finish out the crop, evaluate your weed needs, and then decide. During the colder months try to grow enough weed that you can shut down significantly (to at most a small veg area) next summer.

Sheesh. Checked temps almost 3 hours after lights out, .. 93 degrees yesterday. Ouch.

New central AC unit will be installed Saturday - let's see if that might kick things back in line.

But, I'm slowly warming myself to the idea that Fall and Spring will be best suited for the grow.. And I'm fairly certain I can crank out enough in those times to keep me afloat for the extreme temps. ..

Wad up, Silver? I feel those temp problems. I wouldn't mind a cold summer around here. I have a low 400 and have just been running shorter plants, watering more, ferting more. If it ain't one thing, it's another.

Do you think it was the Ak that brought the powder? I have a friend that is about to Guinea pig a few strains....I also worry about PM..too much to bring clones in my scene. I just stuck my last four island sweet skunks in water...they are older. I have one male that is in veg now. Hope to have some good f2 and probably make some blue hawaiian sativa crosses with the iss also...what ever happened to those NL seeds that you popped?

Do you have a few headbands to run now, also?

Too funny - we had a heat advisory here 2 days ago, and this morning, it's 57 degrees. Makes it a bitch to plan.

Of those NL beans, only one popped. I wasn't too surprised, as the seeds looked pretty rough when I pulled 'em out. (Starting to split at the bottom/end) The one that did sprout was pretty gnarly - between the time I started them and this morning, it had only one set of true leaves (beyond the cotyledons). I just pitched it this morning - need to keep those #s in line. :) ..A bit of a bummer, but my buddy has more beans (probably in better shape, too). No sweat.

The other strains I've got that I haven't run yet are Purple Mr. Nice, Headband, and Vision Cloud. I was hoping for a run of either 4 HB or 2 HB and 2 of the Purple Nice..

..But, I think I may just shut it down for the season when this AK finishes up. As it is, the BD should come down in about 10 days, the Purple Diesel & Green Candy both come down 2 weeks later, and that AK comes down a few weeks later..

(I'd like to have some company to the house this summer, but it stinks!)

I was wondering about the AK being the culprit in the PM caper, .. I'm really not too sure. My buddy runs a pretty tight ship, and I don't remember seeing anything PM-y looking when I brought 'em in.. Good question - we'll never know. :(

I think I'll just give the remaining genetics to my buddy, just to keep 'em around.. Probably late summer/fall, I'll fire it back up again.

carbon filters work ok. But ona gel can be used for things like guests...just put a couple of table spoons in a dish, next to a fan and it will kill the smell for about 12 hours.

The AC man is here now. Good thing it was mid-high-90s last week, and now it's currently 69 degrees. WTF, weather.

He seems confident that it'll keep that room nice and cool, once we get back and up with the AC. (AC man = buddy = in the know) ;)

Finners crossed.

What an idiot.

I think I've been misreading these nighttime temps for the past couple weeks.

There's a display unit in the kitchen, and the "Outside" wireless probe doodad is in one of the pots.

It just dawned on me about 4 minutes ago that what I'd been looking at and thinking "Holy shit, 93?!" .. That's the INSIDE temp I'd been reading.
