hey Joe, Alonso?? is your real name José?

Only kidding!

I'd like to see Heidfeld do well.. I know he's not going to be champion but he did well for BMW Suaber back in 2007-08.

I think he could do really well if given the right car "a bit like webber".

Excellent thread Big E.

Been into F1 for 6 years.

Went to Silverstone in 06 for the weekend, it was a fantastic experience although the race was a little boring, got to watch the world cup with 10.000 F1 fans, GP2,porsche carrera cup.

Next will be Spa if funds allow.

I'm loving the new tires and KERS but your right Big E the DRS needs the activation zones tuned in but that will take two seasons at least.
One problem i can see with the new tires is new or less hard core fans lose track of whats going on with positions making them lose interest.
For the fastest racing i would like to see re fueling but the new budgets will not allow, and would be even more confusing for new fans.

Im a big Lewis fan.In my opinion drivers like Lewis, Seb, Alonso and nico have brought this sport into a new and exciting chapter.

As for the championship it looks as if Vettle will win, but Mclaren and Ferrari are well known for thier development.

I want to know when we're going to see nitrous on F1 cars!
And those spikes on the wheels that were on chariots?

In all seriousness though, yep lots going on this year, very hectic, seems pretty hard for even the commentators to keep track of what's crackalackin' :)

Last year was a pretty straight forward season to get into in terms of learning the rules and regs.

How long were the old tires with the teams for, the bridgestones? It seems just the tires alone would have been an improvement. Or perhaps the old tires + KERS & DRS would have been a better compromise?

Practice One

Practice One

10:00am

Webber currently fastet with a 1:25.142 followed by Rosberg, Alsono, Vettel & Hamilton.

Just a note that Webber is nearly 1.5 seconds faster than Vettel.. but this is practice 1 so they could be running different set up??

Wicked stats Eggy.
just got home, watching both on the red button.

I think Seb was fully loaded in P1 and think he wants to hide his true pace, For now.
Seb looked good in P2 not the quickest but tidy, especially compared to Massa who is all over the place.I really do feel for Massa!.
Hamilton looks comfortable in p2 and usually has better race pace.

Can't wait for Quali tomorrow,Live .

Favorite driver to watch.. Maybe webber or kobiashi (not sure thats the right spelling, not in my phones dictionary). As for supporting a team.. Gotta be McLaren, all british. I think i'm gonna have to stay away from this thead for the weekend as I very much doubt i'll get to watch any of it live.. Got a lot of gardening to get on with.

phew just finished watching quali.. Well pleased for webber! Dam Alonso split the mcLarens, we might get a bit of pushing at the front on lights out. The pole sitter has won this race for the last 10 years.. Lets see if the new rules will change that. Enjoy everyone! :)

Great Race in Spain I thought!, I thought our Lewis could have done Seb in with 10 laps to go but their cars were obviously very evenly matched over the course of the lap!

Agreed Mitch! i reckon if he had another 5 laps he would have caught him.. the DRS zone didn't really help anybody on this track.. but hey good result! Nice to see that the redballs can be matched for pace.

i'll try and update the front page later, im just too busy at the mo.. I'm sure you all know its Monaco this weekend! Mwah hahaha first time we'll see the Super Soft compound!

Yeh who knows what Monaco has instore!

Yeh drs didn't have a big effect in spain, but there was still a fair few overtakes which was good!

Redbull are still the top banana at qualifying though.. I wonder how they are doing it!

Peace mitch

I reckon there way lighter than the Mclarens giving them an advantage with ballast weight.. as the merc engines seem to have the stright line power. rumor has it that the redbulls only just passed their crash test.. but i've also been told that all teams only design the cars to just pass so who knows?

What a race i was pacing up and down toward the end, nail biting stuff.

What a start by Alonso, the best first corner overtake so far this season.
But finished 70 sec off the leaders, Ham and Vet were on fire.
Ham was never going to take Vettle at the end.He should have had Vettle in the pits, mclaren lost around 1.5 sec overall for all four pits.
I love how tired Vettle was at the end, the battle is on.
Bring on Monaco..
At least The Qualifying will be exciting at Monaco, unlike Spain which was the most boring qualifying yet.

Yep qualifying isn't half as do or die now, I wonder if they can think of a way to spice it up a little.

Would have been interesting to see how buttons 3 stopper would have played out if he'd have had a better start!

I love turns 5,6,7 & 8 then fast on through to the tunnel.. Up hill to turn one is also crazy on such a tight circuit.
