Rental Grows

Those of you renting or have multiple rental grows and a record how do you get around those background and credit checks. Do you tell em you just went through a messy divorce/bankruptcy and have horrible credit but still can afford to rent the spot?

Double deposit + first & last months rent? I've been looking on craigslist and it seems that every renter (weather it be for a management company or private renter) they all have application fees.

I'm in the market for a grow rental, own my own house, have good credit, but have a felony for manufacture on my record. I would think no-one would want to rent to a grower for fear of damage. Fake ID? :chin: Any experiences with this?

At one point I was having a lot of trouble with breakers flipping here. My apartment has electric baseboard heating in every room. They run on 240 volts with 20 amp breakers. I pulled the cover off of the thermostat and rigged a 240 volt outlet into it instead. I made sure to save all the parts and draw a diagram of how it was before so I can put it back the way it was before I leave.

The landlord does not have access to your criminal records unless they are law enforcement, not who you should rent from, lol. Try to access your own criminal records and see for yourself. Avoid the fees for rental crapolas, find an owner that doesn't live nearby and stress you like your privacy. If you pay the rent on time they will leave you alone.
If you don't have the electric heat deal as mentioned there is no way. Especially in apartments so just get by with whats there. You can run two rooms (flip/flop also saves in equipment too) off the same circuit by having opposite schedules, 8am to 8pm and the other 8:01pm to 7:59am. Savy?

My criminal record can be accessed via my municipality's website. All you need to find it is my first and last name. I'm sure background checking services turn it up as well. I have applied to an apartment complex that ran a background check, they called and asked me to explain one criminal charge I had.

edit: maybe this is state by state dependent.

landlords can easilly check your criminal status. my friends has rental units and alot of them. he uses both online criminal checks and goes directly to police dept with all your info and gets a printout.when i lived in florida my buddy owned a restaurant and also went directly to pd and got your record checked. dont know about colorado.

Hmmm well apologies to those who have that issue, now its time to change names!! Most landlords where I am are more concerned with "credit" than criminal history. I am going to run some names and see if anything pops up.

I went to four sites and ran four names with criminal records only one came up with the correct info the others had multiple DOBs and were different peeps. So it may be possible for a name to come up as I didn't use the pay for a membership types just gov and freebies.
BTW Rednick you edited my quote to reflect a different meaning Savy!

almost anytime you rent a house your criminal background is checked and your credit. The only way to get around this is to have someone rent it in their name.If you use a fake ID,the name,DOB,and SS number must all line up with an actual person. But you might get lucky and find a landlord who only care about the deposit and rent money.

The thing that sucks is they're making an investment in you by taking you as a tenant. It's in their interest financially to rent to the most law-abiding and credit-having motherfucker they can find.

I did the opposite, grow in the house I own, rented a house to live in. No nosey LL to pop in my grow. The LL has already come to the rental to do an inspection.

I have been to prison twice, and have a list of felonies. Plus I have several marijuana charges pending now. All they cared about was did I have a job and could I pay the rent. My credit is fucked too. Filed chapter 7 a couple years ago, lost 2 cars and a house after my recent arrest. Never told the LL about my criminal history but explained the foreclosure as my business went bad, etc starting over.

Worked like a charm, rented the house and growing in the other

When I was young, I tried renting in a large nice apartment complex and was denied due to my criminal history.

When talking to the LL, ask them what they are looking for in the check. Nowadays everyone has credit issues so its normal.

If you dont have a family, i would move into the rental, and grow in the house you own

Grow in the a house you own = federal seizure of that property.
