It is either a nute defeciency or a nute lockout. You have to figure which based on what you have done.

In my case I assume it is a lockout, I water a lot with rainwater and it has a PH close to 8 and I do not adjust it. It is natural, so I let it fly as is. If I were concerned, I would flush with PH adjusted water until my runoff was coming out where I wanted it, then start nutes back up like normal PH'ing the water.

Yes it is something you can fix if it is not too late in flower. Once you get past week 6 or so, I do not think it is worth trying to keep the plant perfectly green, it is trying to finish and they tend to get ugly. This is all just my experience.

Comes down to PH. Something I am not strict on, I have not found it to be necessary.

I just checked tric's for the first time on Ice and I almost shit myself. All the trics are cloudy with 10% amber. I cut off atleast 10 leaves to verify what I was seeing. It's only Week 6 on a 8 Week strain. I am not going to chop it down but I will be watching the trics to see what happens. I am positive there is still weight to be gained at this point.

This little black microscope I got from Radio-Shack for like 10$. It is 30x-100x and has a little light built in. I lay a leaf on plain white paper and go to it, checking many spots on every leaf.

If you have never done this, the amber heads are very easy to see, the cloudy and clear are a little harder to make out.

Yeah thanks mate, Just started week 8, I thought i was in the same week as you but just added up my grow diary and i'm week 8, Started flushing 4 days ago and thats when the rusty patches started. Guess ill just leave it and let it run its course.

Good to see everything is kicking on for you.

Peace and Good Vibe's

i checked your 6 week pic of that ice girl with the amber trichs, u still got weeks to go but i think your in for some serious swellage the last few weeks, be patient.

No doubt, she is swelling every day. She is getting ugly but putting on the weight and trics everywhere. There are 16 days until her "scheduled" chop.

u need to flush your mg weeks before your final flush, u really need to get them synthetic salts out before u begin your final flush mode, otherwise uglyness shows her ugly face in your flush results, even though the bud will still look ok. i recomend u flush heavy at about 4 weeks prior to cutdown, flush hard, then feed, then one week before u chop flush daily.

anybody notice how i cant post without my leech right after? blank has a hard time being on my ignore list guys, take notice

Hey mate got a question for you, Four post's up and the 3rd picture up from the bottom the rusty spots on the leaf? what are they? Ive just noticed in the last few days i'm getting alot of them and its turning the leaf's brittle, Is it something i can fix?

Cheers mate

Oshay

Did the rusty spots start from the bottom of the plant and move up? Could be calcium def, treat with calcium nitrate.

What medium you growing in? Whats the ph? Ph of runoff?

Hey da purps

Nice looking plants :D

What nutes do you use? Have you ever considering going hydro?

Thanks :) Im using GH Maxibloom powder atm. I have considered it, and I might make the switch soon since I am running low numbers. I was considering 2 5gallon DWC buckets.

I would recommend coco for a first hydro attempt, its so easy!! I use head formuale (GH flora series 6ml micro,9ml bloom per gal).

Hydro gives you greater control over the nutrients that are available to your plants, i think you will appreciate it. Easier to deal with deficiency's and get dialed in.

If you drain to waste in coco you dont even need to setup a res and you never have ph problems as you correct ph of the nute solution and then feed. So basically i mix new nutes everyday and drench once/twice a day. I will setup a res and automatic feed eventually its just i have alot of time on my hands and enjoy watering the individual plants and spending alot of time with them.

Dwc is great but apparently a dialed in multiple feed per day coco grow can almost match dwc speeds without the ph,rootrot and other related problems.

Heads coco thread is a good read:

Thanks man, I might just do that. Give coco a shot with 1 plant and learn that before I switch over. I need to get an EC pen.

Today starts Week 7 !

Better pics without HPS later:

She is getting real ugly now. The buds continue to swell everyday and pile on more trics, I am just feeding plain water until the end now.

Ice has 12 long colas plus sideshoots and popcorn down low. Yield is looking great out of the 5gallon bucket.

The Skunkman #1 has a huge main cola and the pistils have not started dying back yet at week 7. She is lookiing to go a little longer then Ice by a few weeks.

Here is one of two Ice fems in veg. This one will be the next to flower, replacing the Ice in there now. She just got dropped into 24quarts of fresh soil. I mixed is a few handfulls of EWC and Epsoma to my usual soil. I plan to start LST is a few days, I just topped her after the transplant/water-in. This container holds more dirt then a 5gallon bucket and is shorter, so it is perfect for my style. I will veg her for a few weeks in this container before flipping.

The other Ice in veg is the same size. I am thinking of making her a mother, and using her for clones. It about time to get a few plants outdoors, and I want to keep this strain for a while.

ewc and epsoma ,, i like it!, keep us posted on how theese two additives do for you. i use ewc but epsoma ive merely seen at the store and have yet to buy, your on a good path, simple n effective.

your ice is showing very similar style to my recent nirvana ice grow, same yellowing at about the same phase and all,got 8 0z finished off two in 5G soil under 400w to 1000w(increase by graduation of plant size)
a wonderful pleasure to ingest

Sweet aggregatebuzz ! We are in week 7 right now and I am going to cut off a branch to dry and sample. Since I will be growing this strain for the next few grows I want to know how its effects are at 7,8,9, maybe even 10 weeks and find the sweet spot for my taste. I don't see this strain going 10 weeks though.... It is already trying to finish.

The Skunkman's on the other hand... weeks left. I can see her going 10 weeks, maybe longer we will see how it plays out.

Ok, I took off 1 branch. There are atleast 12 more so I do not feel too bad about it. I want to know how she smokes from week 7 onward so I am going to find out.

Not to mention, I have never smoked a named strain in my life. I am in my 30's and only ever smoked brick weeds I can get through shady deaers, or the weed I grew from those seeds. So, to say the least I am excited to try this Ice. She matured twice as fast as anything I've grown in the past with 3x the tric coverage.

Anyways here is a shot of the 1 branch I cut. Again, not that I think I should defend myself, but taking this 1 branch out of the other 13-15 branches a little early is no biggy in my eyes. :) Plenty more buds still on the vine to ripen further over the next few weeks.

I do not own scales, any ideas on the weight of this 1 branch dried ? The one branch is as big as the 12/12 from seed plants I grew, haha.

As you can also see, you do not need Vert to avoid popcorn :) Now I just need to dial in the nutes a little better.

I would guess that that big cola on the end weighs a half once its dried the rest maybe another quarter or another half if your lucky :)

Does the winner of the guessing game get a sample? lol

Things are looking good and I believe I will follow your same testing for buds. Your a thinker Mister Purps.
