Grape, I've known you long enough to know when you are bullshitting me. You have not read dick for studies and you are talking from the a-hole. You got your opinion from a right-wing media performer of some kind, not from doing your own research.

Please don't bullshit me grape.

Please don't be alarmed if I lump you in with others.

On the contrary ML, I have read extensively on the subject. Most enlightening are the leaked emails and the contorted explanations by Mann et al as to the plain language stating that the studies did not return the desired results so they needed to "adjust" and skew the results.

Grow up ML.

Does this mean if your WRONG about this simple fact that you could also be wrong about other simple basic facts dealing with this topic?? Didnt think so. Your denial is on show for the world to see and you still claim the earth is flat!

I will let you in on a little secret grapeman. The higher temps cause more evaporation. Are you claiming not to have seen the effect of this in the last decade at least. Try a few months..
http://journals.worldnomads.com/safetyhub/story/67938/Worldwide/Travel-Alert-%E2%80%93-World-Floods-%E2%80%93-Policy-Information

Oh and i nearly forgot about the thousands of displaced americans at the moment due to a slight over abundance of H2o.
I spose none of the flooded areas have farms, that proves you must be right yet again.

wakey wakey

So please explain the record floods on the Mississippi in the 1930's. Was that man made also? Or was that also caused by record snow falls leading to record snow melt leading to flooding?

It's called weather and the cooling of the Pacific. Do a bit of research.
10 year cooling chart.

More Hannity garbage grapeman. Those emails got sifted through HARD, and guess why the right-wing media machine has "forgotten" this "damning" evidence outside its own echo chamber?

Despite the revelation that scientists are human too, the Leeds emails showed nothing interesting.

Besides, Grape, you claim you have "read all the studies", not "heard about some emails". Or did you go as far as reading some excerpts taken out of context on a right-wing site?

get off the Hannity grape. When people recognize your deepest thoughts as a mass produced "product", you are in serious need of a media fast so you can start thinking for yourself again.

sigh - drawn to these threads, i know better, just gotta watch the fun
i will pose one question - does it matter?
plenty of talk, research, etc. - i just don't see action happening
does anyone think we're going to curtail fossil fuel consumption? i just don't see it happening
if taxes happen, won't be enough to change anything
i guess being in the northern zone puts one in a different perspective - warmer doesn't sound bad up here(hit to karma acknowledged - guilt later)

This is why many advocates don't like to say "global warming". The warming we speak of is average temps across the globe, and only a few degrees. Unfortunately this rearranges the whole system, and in Nature rearranging tends to take the form of cataclysm.

The issue is not that we will be nice and warm. The issue is man-made climate change that happens too fast for man to adapt.

Pick ONE event and list ONE cause and BINGO! You discount every other event since. What a fkn joke!
I supose your going to claim the Australian floods and the Brazil floods and the Pakstan floods were cause by snow melting too? LOL

It's called weather and the cooling of the Pacific. Do a bit of research.
LOL You cant be that fkn dumb surely!
The current la nina responsible for flloods across much of Australia this year is caused by HOTTER surface water temps in the Pacific. But obviously youve been out there and measured the temps yourself and found opposite of what real scientists are claiming.
So which weather event has caused the global temperature to rise over the last few decades which you claim is cooling but have been proven wrong?

Flat earth?? Phfft. PT Barnum's attributed quote. There's a sucker born every second. You my friend are a sucker. In your desire to "be a part of" you have closed your eyes to real science and allowed those with an agenda to sucker you.
You have just described your desparate childish belief system quite well!
If its your desire to claim all scientific research is false then your either a tool or a troll and not worth responding to.

Sigh. Because you folks have had this crap drilled into your heads for a decade or 2, you have lost all ability to critically look at the facts. You question nothing. Here is another example of NASA lying about supposed facts on warming.

http://biggovernment.com/jdunetz/2011/05/13/nasa-gets-caught-faking-climate-change-data-again/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+BigGovernment+%28Big+Government%29

Yes, that's right. Even NASA is involved in this bullshit. And you "really smart" people don't even ask yourselves "why is the government lying to me"?
Yet, you criticize me because I am better read then all of you. I read all sides of an issue. I see that you do not. If you did, you would see the many many fallacies in your regurgitated arguments. Just like mr. mustards stupid post of a polar bear on an ice cube as if that shows the poor bear has a problem. THE fact of the matter is that polar bear population is at a 40 year high. Another fact is that polar bears routinely swim from ice floe to ice floe up to 40 miles apart and have done so long before msnbc. But a picture of a polar bear on a small piece of ice elicits illogical thinking among the lower intelligence on our planet. Oh they are so cute we need to save them, even though they are not in danger. The whole polar bear bullshit was just a ploy to prevent drilling in anwar and like nazis, you poor folk fall into lockstep behind the ploy. Grow up. Do some research (outside of msnbc) and get a real perspective on life.

And you say "Hannity" as if it's proof of something, which of course it is not. I can simply say ABC or MSNBC or IPCC and rest my case also.

But in any event, my mission in life is not to do for you what your lousy parents failed to do.... which is impart upon you some critical thinking skills. I just laugh over your brainwashed comments and cry over the fact that stupidity is rampant in America. It's so easy to connect the dots in global warming and where our future tax dollars will go but like children, you're too busy weeping about a photo of a polar bear when you don't even understand their habitat, which includes the entire fucking arctic ocean.

Your pathetic belief without question parallels religious fervor. WTF. Do you all get 72 baby polar bears when you die and go to heaven championing a socialist cause. Is that what they are teaching you? LOL I'd rather opt for the virgins if I'm going to dream.

So, anyone care to tell me which crops are suffering due to your global warming? As the OP says?

Yeah, that's what i thought. You don't even deny the Hannity, and in the same breath you claim to think for yourself.

You don't even seem to speak for yourself, just recycling tired right wing talking points.

If your reading material tends to have url's like "biggovernment.com", you probably are not doing your own research or even thinking. You are a consumer.

Are you still claiming the earth is cooling?

Id say ALL crops that are swept away with your current floods in Louisiana caused by the warmer pacific ocean. Its was the la nina that caused your excess snow and rain, but im sure a scientific demi-god like yourself has a completely made up story you would prefer to believe that fits in with your fairytale belief system.

In our Australian news this morning there is a US news story asking people to pray for them as they release floodgates and flood more towns and farms out of existance with record floods.
Must be false reporting.

Then you have the bushfires that ruin vast areas of farmland here in Australia caused by CC as we break heat records year on year. The drought that has gripped SE Aust for over a decade has also seen many failed crops. But of course you will dispute this like any other fact.

Aug 2010: Wheat prices hit a 22-month high yesterday after Russia said its worst drought in 30 years would slash output for the rest of the year. Again; screenshot or didnt happen.

Typical low IQ counter. When you can not dispute the facts presented, attack the messenger.
Another favorite of the non critical thinker is to cry "racism", which I'm sure you would if this wasn't about the weather or if you knew if the OP was black.

So I see you made fun of Dunetz, but the problem is with the facts he presented, which of course you avoid. And that my boy is pretty much how the nazi party started, if you would read history.

LOL. The description under your name says it all.

Like I informed you posts ago, I read all sides of an issue. I suppose your religious fervor to "believe" will not allow you to read anything but one side of an issue, which you would learn to do if you went to school. I have no problem with my beliefs about weather patterns, or man's small role in weather. But you my friend have a problem with any information that does not come from msnbc and that makes you pretty small indeed.

And your drought that was just washed away by the flooding down under? Was the drought caused by global warming or was the record flooding you just had caused by global warming? Which is it? Or both? LOL

And again, get your information straight. The globe has cooled for the last 10 years.

Well since Global Warming is BULLSHIT I had a nice laugh. On a further notice we are entering the next ice age, so if we want to worry about our plants, we should worry about the freezing... but then again Indoors ftw? Just to clarify for those who will question it, National Geographic put out a debunking of Global Warming YEARS ago, it was a FANTASTIC show. The Earth goes through periods of warm and cold, they said about every 300,000 or 30,000 years something like that. There have been multiple ice ages in the Earth's history, and we are currently heading towards the next ice age now. Don't know about you, but this last winter sure did last long, then again Global Warming must have caused this!!

I found a cool article :D

John Coleman is an American TV weatherman noted, along with entrepreneur Frank Batten, for founding The Weather Channel. He presently works as an on-camera weather caster at KUSI-TV in San Diego but is no longer affiliated with The Weather Channel.[1]

[edit] Professional career

Coleman started his career at WCIA in Champaign, Illinois, doing the early evening weather cast and a local bandstand show called At The Hop while he was a student at University of Illinois. After receiving his journalism degree in 1957, he became the weather anchor for WCIA's sister station WMBD-TV in Peoria, Illinois. Coleman was also a weather anchor for KETV in Omaha, WISN-TV in Milwaukee and then WBBM-TV and WLS-TV in Chicago.[2]

At WLS, Coleman was teamed with Fahey Flynn, Joel Daly and Bill Frink to form the Eyewitness News team, creating a news brand name and establishing a highly successful new local news format derisively dubbed "happy talk" by a local television columnist. This style of local news has been widely copied. The team dominated Chicago television news ratings for more than a decade. During his time at Chicago's WLS-TV, Coleman was one of Chicago's most popular weathercasters, famous for his amusing and irreverent style. It was then that Coleman became the original weathercaster on what was then the brand-new ABC network morning program, Good Morning America. He stayed seven years with this top-rated program anchored by David Hartman and Joan Lunden.[1]

In 1981, he persuaded communications entrepreneur Frank Batten to help establish The Weather Channel, serving as TWC's CEO and President during the start-up and its first year of operation. After leaving TWC, Coleman became weather anchor at WCBS-TV in New York and then at WMAQ-TV in Chicago, before moving to Southern California to join the independent television station, KUSI-TV in San Diego, in what Coleman fondly calls, "his retirement job."[1]

[edit] Views on global warming

In the fall of 2007, he described the current concern over global warming "a fictional, manufactured crisis, and a total scam.".[3] In 2008, Coleman gave a speech of the same tone, before the San Diego Chamber of Commerce, blaming the "global warming scam" and environmentalist lobby, for rising gas and food prices. He also declared the scam "a threat to our economy and our civilization." [4]

Coleman has also made appearances on CNN, Fox News Channel and on the Showtime program, Penn & Teller: Bullshit!, to share his global warming views. Coleman recently published an article entitled "The Amazing Story Behind the Global Warming Scam"[5] in which he promotes the idea that many scientists and politicians have been embroiled in fraudulent activity based on incomplete science and a political motive for a world government. Coleman says the genesis of the global warming movement was the claims of scientist Roger Revelle, an early mentor of Al Gore.

In January, 2010, Coleman produced a special report for KUSI-TV, entitled Global Warming: The Other Side, in which he forwards his view on Global Warming as a scam—and lays out what he believes to be evidence of a deliberate manipulation of world temperature data by NASA and others.[6]
[edit] Personal life

Coleman was born in 1934 in Alpine, Texas, the fifth child of a college professor and his math teacher wife, Claude and Hazel Coleman. He is married to Linda Coleman, and lives in a retirement community in the San Diego suburb of Rancho Bernardo.
