Feeding your dog irregularly will also probably make him hide food around the yard. Thats odd.

.............do not let it socialize with strangers or even aquantances, good friends are ok, but its better if you dont do even that

Careful "testing" your dog, don't want em thinking twice about acting.

Don't let your dog socialize with anyone but you and your gf, I wouldn't even let close friends play with them at home.

Only got through a small part of this thread, and my temper is already flairing. Whatever you do do NOT listen to these numbskulls, socializing a pup as soon as possible and making it all great experiences is very very very important.

I could put my dog in a stay on the side of the highway, with squirells & cats & cheese & steak on the otherside, during rushhour.... hop back in the car, go on a bluntride, water all my plants, clean my bulbs, take clones, and come back 5 hr's later..... you know where she would be? THAT is what you want before you worry about ANY protection training, and fyi a few posters have it spot on, properly socialize & train her, you want the dog that seems so happy she'll lick an intruder to death, trust me, she's a gsd- the protectiveness will come out when it's truly needed I would put my own & my dogs life on it.

Puppy.
Give her 6-12 more months and PM me.
She can be trained.

Even Akitas are puppies at one point in their lives.

Right now all you will be concerned with is Obedience.
A good book to read:
http://www.amazon.com/Art-Raising-Puppy-Monks-Skete/dp/0316578398
'The Art of Raising a Puppy'. Monks of New Skete.

Deepening your bond is more important than anything right now.

Highly recommend that book as well! My pup is by my side as much as possible ;)

Leroy ur on spot, my english is not the best so i got some problem explaining myself. But i give both my dogs tons and tons of love. And they are allowed to see alot of different people, but only the ones i see. And I dont hang around shit people, i live in a small community, sadly not on a farm but one day i will be there.
But i got alot of woods around here were we go for looong walks and i let them roam free, to come back on command ofcourse.
I had a ton of other stuff on my mind i was supposed to write but i've been smoking too much.

But i got one Q for you all around here, what do i do when she goes in to heat? Shes 7½ month and he (the rottweiler) is about 18 months old.
I heard of some sort of leggings for the females so they cant be penetrated by the males, but i dont know the name of such a thing. Can someone point me to the right direction?

Do you intend to breed them?
Otherwise, fix your bitch and your butch.

Wanna breed the female?
Fix your Male.

Wanna stud your male?
Watch out. He'll eat through a fucking door to get pussy, dun seen it.

Gotta fix at least one of them, or you are going to have a 'happy accident' on your hands, about 6-10 of them. And she is young enough, the first litter will probably die. You don't want that on your mind.

Unless they are special, papered bloodlines, just fix them.
There will be plenty of good dogs in your future, that need a good home.

Seriously, dogs breed like third-world families.

Or, if underfed, they have been documented to eat their own feces. There's nourishment in that shit.

Well none of them got pure bloodlines, and i dont want to breed with them at the moment but i dont want either of them "fixed".
Someone told me i could get some sort of stockings/leggins for her and some spray that makes her little yummieplace less atracting for him.

I was always afraid of giving my dog raw meat.
I don't want my dog to see some animal (or person) and think of it as food.
Also with all the hormones and antibiotics present it the meat around here (Israel) I'm really not sure its better than the dry food I'm giving my dog.

you are misunderstanding both the mind of your dog and the flavor of your dry food. The dry food has all kinds of additives that make it taste like meat, and it is usually full of meat as well. When you take away dry food and offer raw whole meaty bones, most dogs will refuse to eat for a couple days.

A human being does not smell like a chicken leg.

Picture this: you go out for a walk with your 80 pound lab, armed with a little sandwich bag. He takes his biggest poop of the day, a dry pellet and a bit of bone meal. It doesn't smell. You notice his stamina is off the charts, his muscle tone fantastic for his age, and you have not smelled a dog fart in some time. That's raw feeding baby! Costs me less than 20$ a week.

What I mean about a guard dog vs. a pet is important. If it's a pet, concentrate on the deterrent value against intruders. At 3-4 AM, I could probably enter your house, go in your bedroom, shine a light in your face and maybe even talk to you and you won't even remember in the morning. But not if you have a dog that wakes you up (or some geese).

My dog trainer friend and people who do my job often enter the homes of people with "aggressive dogs" without the owner and without having met the dog. Often the owner hides the bite history. Well when we go in the vicious, territorial dogs sit nicely for us and show us where the leash is. Without the owner home to project fear, they have no reason to attack.

Now let's say my dog trainer friend and I wanted to rob you. Do you think your pet dog would guard the house? I would never enter a home uninvited of course, but is my skillset that rare?

A professionally trained guard dog though? That's a different story. Unless I could have daily access to the dog, or drug it, or some other trick, it's going to pin me to the floor until the cops come in the morning.

Just don't be downwind, that shit is no joke.
Me and a buddy were getting water for the camping group (Bob Marshall Wilderness Area, NW Montana, USA).
He spayed the shit, we laughed and about 10 seconds later we started choking up, couldn't even see the mist in the air, slightest of downwind drifted it our way. We ran a hundred feet down the trail until we could breath again.

Dont worry, they are impossible to get here. Regular mace is really illegal here, not even the cops have it.
But one can allways dream ;)

It's called 'Bear Mace' but it is really high power/capacity pepper spray.
Chemical Mace is hard to find these days.

There are a lot of things around that are illegal...and some of us still might keep doing.

So whether that spray is legal or not where you are...who cares?

Just don't use it on dogs. That would suck!

Well ofcourse you are right, but its not that easy to get a hold on. Its alot easier to get a illegal handgun or rifle for some reason i'd guess we shouldnt talk about here.
And ofcourse its NOT okay to spray dogs, never ment for it to sound that way either.
I love my dogs!

Only problem is getting it through the customs ;)
Now a days u get your house searched for nothing, it takes the police about 2 seconds to get a warrent (spelling?), all they have to do is to call a prosecutor.
Damn, things sound so ridiculus.
I need a morning smoke, get so deppressed when i talk about things like this, fuck this i betta move to somewhere else.

Not really.
The only thing that might create a problem is it being a pressurized container.

Hut on the beach?
