Hit and Run 2 Killed

G

greenmatter

If they knew what happened and stopped would they be persecuted less by people. The good people here that are persecuting without a hint of what the real deal was. You sound like people that think all pot smokers should be sent to prison because someone claimed to be stoned when committing a horrendous crime. Lets hang the SOB no matter what the circumstances were. And we wounder why they didn't stop. Just like the anti cannabis people you want people to rot in hell for something they don't have a clue about.

it is a very large jump getting from stoners to a hit and run with kids involved. i don't think anyone is saying hang someone because of a car accident. shit happens every day and even though there were kids involved and it is sad, it was an accident. what people are bitching about is the act of leaving the scene.

we all consider that to be a crime. i am not finding any logical reason to leave a kid bleeding in the street. that is fucked up on a level that i can't even get my mind around. so yeah, i suppose i would not mind seeing this particular asshole hung out to dry. they earned it when they drove away. that is the "real deal" at the end of the day!

smoking dope and running from the scene of a car accident don't even belong on the same page or even in the same book IMHO.

so if you , lets say were dumb enough to drink and drive, would have stayed at the scene?
What the hell kind of question is that? Are you implying that you wouldn't, or that you don't think others would? I hope you are just not articulating your question well...

I don't drink and drive. Ever. Period. Don't smoke and drive, either.

My Answer: Regardless of the circumstances, I'd stay on the scene. I simply couldn't live with myself otherwise.

I don't see how any other answer is even possible for a decent human being to give.

Texting and driving is even more of a menace than impaired driving . The roads are more dangerous than than in the past IMO.

it's unfortunate, but this happens a lot in and around los angeles!

there have been countless bicycle riders getting hit by cars and then the driver bolts. shit man, last year this city worker was biking to work, a chick in a white porsche hit him and hurt him bad, she got out and yelled, "omg! somebody should call 911, he looks hurt! i've got to get to my meeting..." in her car she jumped and off she went. all of a sudden her license plate number was being blasted all over twitter and facebook, within a couple hours she was located and arrested, if i remember correctly she got a slap on the wrist for it.

this kind of shit keeps happening over and over again in and around los angeles, it's close to home, i ride a bike to commute to and from work, some of these fools would run me over in a heart beat and just keep on going. so many of them don't understand basic rules of the road, so many of them don't understand that A BICYCLE RIDER IS TRAFFIC, we are allowed to take a lane, and no that tiny little gutter with all the debris on the right side of the road is not a damn bike lane it's a gutter for debris and trash

i almost got ran over yesterday by some lady that doesn't understand that we all take turns at a 4 way stop, again lady I AM TRAFFIC, i am not a pedestrian, treat me like a car and everything will go smoothly

sorry for the rant, this pisses me off and saddens me deeply at the same time

hmmm

if someone doesn't look at the lights while crossing, and it's the pedestrian's fault

can you still get in trouble if you hit the person ?

but if it's your fault, I figure you can get sued right ? or go to jail if you hurt/kill another person ?

driving a car is a lot of ****** responsibility I tell ya

just a little slip and boom. it worries me sometimes, driving these death machines

good points, but in my experience cyclists are all about yielding unless they have to yield.

it's a simple question. Curious. Not many are honest. Same applies for cannabis and driving, I could see a lot of people being scared to stay on the scene, whether its humane or not. Reefer madness. Thanks for your answer.

Nope, wasn't implying shit. :tiphat:

ok so i was missin formed .. it was 1 dead , the other was badly hurt.. this was a drunken crash spree , 3 crash sites 7 injured 1 dead the kid wason his way to take his finals at college. the guy had a 20 minute stndoff in his hummer before the police came threw the back. this is a domino storry that is really messed up and sad. i went this morning to the gas station down the street and there is a huge blood and body outlines on the ground . here is the article from this morning

Victim(s): 20 year old Male Ventura Resident (Deceased). Five additional individuals sustained minor to moderate injuries as a result of the collisions.

Suspect(s): Satnam Singh 49 years Ventura Resident

Report #:11-5294,11-5295, 11-5296

Narrative:

On the above date and time the suspect, Singh, was driving westbound on Telegraph Rd. in a full size Hummer vehicle. Two bicyclists, a mother and 13-year-old daughter, were riding front and back of one another. The suspect drove by and struck them and continued driving. The mother and daughter sustained injuries including broken bones. This incident occurred at Telegraph Rd at La Hoya.

The suspect then continued westbound on Telegraph Rd. He approached Petit Ave, and struck a pickup truck that was stopped for a red light in the left turn lane. He struck the rear of the pickup and continued driving westbound from the area. The pickup had a husband and wife and 16-year-old son. Each received minor complaint of pain injuries.

The suspect then kept driving westbound on Telegraph Rd. Near the intersection of Telegraph and Mara, the victim was riding his bike in the bike lane with a friend. The suspect hit the victim and drove away. The victim died at the scene. The friend was not struck or injured.

A witness saw this incident and called 911. The witness followed the suspect and gave 911 directions to his location. The suspect drove to 146 Kennedy and parked in the driveway. Officers were on scene within 30 seconds of him arriving in the driveway. The suspect was seated in the vehicle when officers arrived. The suspect was uncooperative and would not exit the car. The damage to the vehicle prevented him from getting out from the drivers side. Officers were on scene for about 20 minutes attempting to get the suspect to comply with commands to get out of the vehicle.

Eventually officers were able to open the rear hatch and used a police K9 to distract the suspect while officers were able to get into the car from the back doors. The suspect was taken into custody.

He was transported to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries from the traffic collision.

The investigation is ongoing. The suspect is currently under arrest for Gross Vehicular Manslaughter While Intoxicated, Felony Hit and Run, and Felony D.U.I.

i've observed quite a bit of that too

i mean there is a time and a place when i will for sure take the lane, but straight up man, i do ride as if nobody sees me, the reality of the situation is that a flying 2+ ton hunk of metal needs to be yielded to

i've seen people taunt the cars and playing chicken, swerving wildly out into the lane with plenty of traffic, i'm not saying they deserve to be hit or run over but i will say that i am not surprised if and when they do get hit or run over

That's just fucked up, I hope both his sleeping/waking moments are haunted.

To leave a brother for dead is bad enough, but to then try and pin him with the rap...don't even know what to say to that.
I have a hard enough time liking people as it is. :moon:

I hope you found some peace,Brother :ying:

Wrote my first response above while I was filled with anger at the story of a hit and run involving kids. Should have waited...

I understand how people might be scared to stay on the scene, sure. It's still the right thing to do, though.

As for the "Not many are honest", I'll disagree with you there. I think most people are basically (mostly) honest. And the ones that aren't, probably aren't going to answer your question honestly, haha.

Peace :joint:

I went to school with a friend that was killed by a drunk driver. The investigation estimated my friend's body was thrown 300 feet. The driver left the scene.

Ten years later, a tip led to the driver and forensics determined my friend wasn't in the road as previously determined. The driver drove off the road and clipped my friend in the process.

More than a decade after the fact, the driver was convicted of vehicular manslaughter and received a suspended sentence with probation. Talk about insult to injury... er, manslaughter.
