I need to thank a lot of members on ICMAG for taking the time to explain the MMAR and for setting me up with the best Doctor in Canada.

All my papers were sent to Health Canada On March 9th ( expresspost )

Today I received My Authorization to possess- May 5th

It was just about the 8 week processing time.

From start to Finish this is one of the easiest things I have done

DPL's are still taking awhile I have been waiting 4 months now, It's nice that they got the PPL and licence to posses down to 2 months wait though.

My papers went in July 21 last year.

Got approval letter Dec.21 last year.

Still waiting for card.........................

I don't expect my Plastic card anytime soon..
It would be cool to have, but I don't see a need for it.

Congrats. Things are finally falling through with me. Just need to finish up a few things and have my papers sent off as well. Can't wait!

One day is here my friend!! If you have not been to a specialist have your family doctor setup an appointment.

Waiting to see the Specialist and waiting for the paperwork from health Canada are the hardest parts. The sooner you get them underway the better.

you guys are celebrating over nothing, wait times are not consistent and you will get your forms when you get your forms. my roomate has been waiting 2x as long as me so far and we filled out and sent all our updated documents at same time . also have terminally ill patient been waiting over 3 mos. what the fuck health canada?

Have you or your roommate called and checked on the progress of your applications?

If you feel like your government is not working the way you would like, I encourage you to speak with your local member of parliament.

They can and will help.

My lawyer sent Health Can a notarized letter, demanding my photo ID Card. They expect you to carry the large permit when transporting or possessing. That would be the ONLY permit we have. They didn't send out official copies.

Can you imagine being pulled over on a Friday night ...pulling out a folded dog eared photo copy of the permit..do you think law enforcement would accept this. Who can they call to verify the permits validity on the weekend. A security and medical abuse of a system designed to heal people.

Have you tried making a photo copy of your Health Card and using it at the hospital emergency dept. ?

Still haven't heard a thing back..my lawyer is beyond amazed...

Can you imagine being pulled over on a Friday night ...pulling out a folded dog eared photo copy of the permit..

I was thinking the same thing.. 99% of cops have never seen an Authorization to possess.

The MMAR doesn't protect you from uneducated cops.

It does provide an exemption from the CDSA.(Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) And thats what will keep you out of jail.

The MMAR is far from perfect, but its all we got. ( for now )

Had to renew my drivers liscens a few weeks ago ..it took three mins. to get the laminated liscense card from the girl doing the renewal....Maybe MMRA should get one of those machines lol...I know af has been waiting six months now for the official laminated card.His paperwork looks like a ball of rolled up paper towel...but like GM 421 said,"it,s better than nothing".

I did so, twice. Never even got a form letter response.

My wife and I are now at 9 1/2 months and counting................

FWIW one of the more helpful people at HC told me that every time you call they pull your file and it gets put back at the bottom of the pile, that could be BS but you never know...

My papers took about 6 months. There was nothing wrong with the paper work. It just took that long... So everyone just chill. When it comes, do the happy dance(lotto 649).

I called Health Canada 2 Weeks after they received my Expresspost package to ensure all my papers were in order.

They returned my call the next day and said all was good and that the wait would be 8-10 weeks.

I said thank you very much and I appreciated all the help..

8 weeks later and Canada post is banging at the door..
