Anyone here feeding with every watering using MB and promix or sunshine mix#4? Using Smart-pots?

Was wondering how much per gallon of MB is working out? 1/4-1/2 tsp? I know every strain is different, but im sure alot of growers are feeding everytime.

I have been using the Dyna-gro line up, but may switch to maxibloom someday, I read most of the thread but that was a couple months ago, so a little help would be cool.

Hopefully some of you guys can help me out. So I upgraded my reservoir to a 40 gallon botanicare using blumats. After a couple of days my reservoir isn't stinking, but it isn't smelling like it's freshly brewed. I got a 132gph pump circulating the mutes and it doesn't seem strong enough. Current mix is maxi at 1.2-1.4 EC of maxi(using tap), a couple caps of protekt silica, some sm90, drip clean. Do I need a bigger pump? Bleach at 1ml per 5 gallons like Lazyman? Also, I thought the Ph would be more stable using a bigger res. PH at 5.6 and two days later it goes up to 6.2.

Its a good sign to see PH raise as EC drops, says the plants are sucking up food. a good natural swing is very healthy. I might Ph down to 5.2. that or mix your silica in the water first to help fully mix. Are you giving the res time to dissispate any chlorine?

the bigger the pump, the more the heat. perhaps 2 small pumps and airstones?

What up everyone Great fucken thread ... I have been using this with my mother plants and some like it and others don't ...So I just wanted to run this by u guys 1st and see if anyone could give me some pointers to help me decide what to do...Playing with this maxi bloom I found out that my chem d clone responds well with maxi bloom in my mother room at 1tsp per gallon of tap. So right now I have 6 chem ds vegging out right now in the 4x4 tent I am using gh micro and bloom with calmag to vegg and they are looking really well no burns no nothing nice lushes green healthy no bugs.....So I guess I wanted to know if it would be worth it using this over the micro and bloom base nutes....I gotta say that using the maxibloom gives my plants really nice healthy roots I am talking about bright white FUZZY roots. So really just wanna know if I should risk it and run the maxibloom for the chem d for all of flower...also kinda wondering how the plants would react to the switch of not only nutes but also water source or could i keep using ro water with maxibloom using calmag?.....If some one could shed some light that would be cool and appreciated

there's no risk because you removed half the human error to the equation. maxi bloom has everything. cant hurt to throw in mg to RO. blooming plants love mg.

Toohigh,

So do you think my pump is too weak? I actually got another one just like it so it'll be 264gph in a 40 gallon res. I really wasn't expecting a drift of .6 in two days. I was hoping for a .6 drift over a week span so that I can go on a vacation w/no worries. And I'm not letting the chlorine dissipate, going straight in the res. Wouldn't the chlorine keep my res as a dead res so I won't get funky smells? I need to add bleach or DM zone or something.

A bigger pump 250-500gph will heat the water much more than 2 132's. If I don't see a jump of .2-.4 dailly I'm a little concerned. You can add bleach but you already have chlorine/choramine. What is your tap ppm/ph? No need to buy chlorimine from dutchmaster. if you want to go on vacation longer than 48 hours, you better get a PH doser or ask a true friend to come daily and monitor. I have a girlfriend at one place, a roomate at another, and a partner on the other 2. I don't get to va-ca very often. I don't have 2 days I can't be away from something... if your "down2grow" you either are or your not. Cannabiz consumes my life. If I'm lucky, a factory invites me for a tour.. Sundays I ride or shoot a match. other than that, I be at work, my other work, or my other work and so on...:tiphat:

Its not that at all.

Its just that I didnt have the resorces to plum all the bukkits together this time like I wouldda liked. Now when I do a rez change out I gotta lift each bukkit top off the bukkit in order to change out the bukkit underneath. This is a huge pain in the ass with these tall flowers in them.

I was just figurin that if everythiung looks so good, waddafukk!?

hey there bash, save your back. this is what i use to drain and fill my 5 gal individual bucket system. it a battery operated kerosene transfer pump that pumps 2.5ishgal/min:http://www.milesstair.com/accessories.html#PUMP

Thanks Toohigh! This kind of smelly res is making me a little irritated is all. So when I put in my 2nd pump, should I stick it on the side like my other one? Or would you recommend adding a tube, suction cup it towards the top to make a little waterfall for DO?

Oh and my water reads this.. The truncheon is lighting up in between .2-.4 EC, 100-200 on the ppm(ecx500), and 140-280(ecx700). The pond kit read in between 40-80ppm alkalinity. PH is at 7.7

Hey hello!

I found that the bukkits with a ph of 5.6 were nicer than the 5.9 bukkits. Im runnin dwc in 5 gallon bukkits. The higher ph'ed ones yellowed a bit. Theyr Blue Dream at 5.5 weeks.

Anyhow, I bought all the bukkits to 5.6.

toohighmf is correct. Plants have the ability to convert inorganic nutrients into energy whereas humans cannot. Still I used organic nutes with high pressure aero (HPA) + True Aeroponic Grow (TAG) method when I began. The problems drove me batty. since switching to DM nutes my grow life is much easier. hth

I've been using Maxi series since my first hydro grows. I knew I wanted a dry nute because paying for water is for the birds. I heard a lot of different advice about how to get "Lucas" from Maxi series and used a spreadsheet improperly and got really wrong mixtures.

I don't know how to best approximate "Lucas" and I don't care any more. I tried running 6:1 Bloom to Grow but found that I got insufficient stretch (I grow SOG for now). I switched to 2:1 and my girls seem pretty happy throughout.

I think growers should get years of experience under their belts before they start shelling out for the expensive nutes. That's just my advice though, and I'm not some badass grower.

IMO there are only a few ways to become a really good grower:

1. Go to school and learn as much about plants as humanly possible. Can't help you there because I don't even know the best degree for this.

2. Get lucky and start with the best advice.

3. Fake it until you make it. The problem with learning from experience is that growing is a slllooow process. You only get about 6 attempts per year, max. That makes for a LONG ass learning curve. I've got about 10 "real" crops under my belt, maybe more (I honestly don't know), and I'm just now to the point where I'm confident about what I'm doing. My yields still aren't anything to write home about, but I at least have taken most of the mystery out of things. One area I've been lucky in is pests, so I don't have a lot of experience on that front. Thank god for the chemists. :)

FWIW, Maxibloom @ 1tsp/gal. No need for the Gro, in veg or flower.
