nation built on debt ---- How you get there (super power) isn't completely relevant Is that the same as saying "deficits don't matter"? No. I'm just saying I don't see what it matters in terms of being a super power. Debt is dangerous, but it did get A HELL of a lot done. Unfortunately, we have monkeys at the wheel and they forgot to monitor all the vitals and slow this beast down to reconfigure herself. In reality, I would rather a society not built on debt.. debt can suck hard as the world has/is going to see.
no one can afford housing ----- not true. most of those people choose not to. Few actually can't. Actually, we had an entire industry dedicated to sub prime lending. Even folks that otherwise qualified for fixed rate mortgages were steered toward sub prime. And the people executives should be held responsible. In China a lot of these guys (including the financial sector) would of been executed by now. But I don't see why that means people CAN'T afford housing. Sub prime is just more expensive money. A lot of the people bought over their heads. Doesn't mean they couldn't have decided to buy a smaller house, more within their means. And if they don't have the income, well that is their choice. (not talking about the elderly or the LEGITIMATELY disabled)
bad school system ----- bad compared to the best? possibly. But generally bad? No. We continue to sink in math and science when compared to other developed countries.
In terms of what? Why do people come HERE for engineering degrees then? What do you have to say about Berkeley's Nuclear engineering program. All of MIT's science/math/engineering programs.. Stanford, Harvey Mudd, Embry Riddle.. America is a top notch place to get a TOP NOTCH education. Even the state schools turn out extremely competent engineers. I don't know about mathematicians, but in terms of science and engineering, America is doing quite well.
corrupt goverment ---- at times it has been too much yes, but any and all governments will have a corrupted factor. Americans are working on this as we speak. Yup, we'll always have corrupt peeps. Keeping them out of elected office is key.
everything made in the US is crap quality ---- that just is not true at all. Yup, superficial moanings and groanings don't help much.
both parents working full time ---- yeah I don't like this one. But I don't see what it has to do with being a super power.
higher education is worthless ---- LOLOLOL..
sorry, but that comment is just so funny. You're joking right? Too bad that 12 for-profit universities are testifying before congress over profits before education. Are you talking about like Phoenix schools and Devry? Those things are a joke, yes. Nothing like an actual state university or prestigious private school.
low ranked health care system ---- are you talking about medicare/medicade or talking about our practices in medicine in general? I can agree with you on the first one, but not if you mean our general practices. #37 on WHO's list of developed countries. That number means nothing to me without information about what its based on, etc.
tax money completely wasted ---- Completely? not so much. Way too much though yes. IMO, we have far too many special interests that lobby to thwart having to pay taxes.

you know what the problem with americans is? they act like there number one, and there far from it. How many Americans have you met? Sounds like you watch too much tv. Don't know if you go for polls but Americans recently polled as having higher opinions of ourselves than others.Thats because we're all number 1

it happened when we thought our money would be safe by giving it to other people to hold onto(banks),and again by giving it to somone to gamble with(stockmarket).
how do most people get the idea that somone else is better suited or cares more to see where your money ends up? have we been better off for giving it to these people so far?
also you can earn more by digging in your couch per month than any intrest rate youll get from the bank.

I think that there are a few signs that will let us know. The head guy of the Federal Reserve (Geitner) announces the fed will not devalue the dollar. When China, Russia, Japan, Europe and others stop dealing oil in dollars (these countries have alreday been talking about dealing oil in other currency). When the ddollar is no longer the worlds reserve currency. China bolds more is dollars than any other country. China is now getting out of the dollar. They are dumping them fast. The collapse is underway its going to be a few more years on the downward before it gets real bad IMO.

Chicago PD was reported recently to stock up on over 17,000 assault rifles, with armor piercing ammunition. They were asked "what were they expecting?" They gave no response. Truth is, they are expecting the people! And when there are enough angry, & armed americans, the homeless, & starving taking to the streets to rise up against the government, they will be shot down like dogs in the street!

17,000 sound like an impressive/oppressive number ! we all know how much they love their skewed numbers. the one they keep forgetting is that we greatly out number them. change is a constant, it may not be all fun and games but has to happen.
when the shit hits the fan it will at least be interesting. when the news blackouts start just keep in mind it is most likely not a technical difficulty.... it is a sign that the party has started
