Things are coming along, .. So far, 11 days in, I'm pleased. Seems to be bushing out nicely, and I'm quite happy with the height so far. Vertical space is at somewhat a premium, so we'll see how this bondage deal works out.

I need to preserve the genes on this one, so it's going to be either take a cutting this weekend (around day 14), or re-veg it when she's finished. Thoughts? Preferences?

Below is the Green Candy, which will go into the oven this weekend. This one seemed to be a slow grower at first, but it's been bushing out like crazy.

You plants could look better. They need some soluble N and probably some other stuff also. If you can top dress the pots with a bunch of earthworm castings (0.5"-1"), brew up a tea consisting of your fish, castings, and some kelp, and water with more of the fish at the recommended rate until things start to look better. It should happen quick. This is what I would do anyway. Also wouldn't hurt to get some mulch.

How wet are you keeping that soil?

BTW - top dressing with guano works great. I'd say a tablespoon per plant.

I think part of what you're seeing is the yellow HPS on the plant. (I took it out of the hut for the picture, but the hut door was wide open and it looks like it's kind of "washing out" the plant, making it look more yellow/less green than it is).

But, you're probably on to something. I've been feeding with teas of roughly 1 TBSP/gal EWC, and MaxiCrop 1-0-4. Top dressing with about 1 TBSP high P guano.

I've got some Liquid Fish for N, but the few times I've used it (even at half strength), it's seemed pretty harsh. So, in that respect, I've probably been playing it TOO safe with the N.

I'm by no means a ACT expert, but I think you want to get some food sources in the tea, such as molasses and fish. Maybe something like 0.5 cups of EWC, a pinch of molasses (<5ml), a tablespoon of kelp, and 5ml of fish per gallon.

It is has been my experience that fish works really well, really quickly and is difficult to overdo at the recommended rates occasionally (5-10 ml per gallon) assuming your are doing some plant reading and using some common sense. The only thing that is harsh about it is the smell.

You can't overdo EWC in my experience. It won't burn your plants, contains N and a bunch of micro nutrients, as well as a bunch of micro life. It is pretty much of a cure-all in my book.

Might be a bit too much if it is moist to the touch and you aren't mulching. You don't want the pots saturated - and you don't want plants wilting for lack of water. Somewhere between these extremes there is a happy medium. I'm guessing that with Happy Frog the happy medium is toward the dryer end.

You flipped them not too long ago. They are going to do most of their growing in the next several weeks so now is the time you want to get them very healthy and make sure that they have everything they need. If they are struggling now they won't grow properly through the stretch and the yield will be substantially diminished. Also don't worry about your vertical space. Four feet of usable space should be plenty.

I forgot to mention, I'm brewing with ~ 1 TBSP molasses/gal, .. Maybe "moist to the touch" isn't the right description, .. Not WET by any means, but also not dry and powdery, ..

I'll give it another go with the Liquid Fish (in addition to the EWC/MaxiCrop/Molasses), .. I'll do the top-dress with the EWC - good stuff.

I'd think something like a heaping tablespoon every 2-3 weeks starting about now and continuing until the last several weeks of the cycle.

Edit: You can use the fish outside of the tea. Just mix it up with water at the recommended rate. A tablespoon of molasses a gallon seems like a lot.

It is good to see you back on track SH. Hopefully just a few more days and that ffof will have them greening back up.

Also, I'd take a clone while the plant is in flowering...It gives you two opportunities to save the genes, as opposed to relying on the reveg. I start seeds all the time and usually wait until they are sexed and in flower to clone them... I tried to reveg one plant with no luck..I'd like to try again because I hear plants can yield a lot more the second time around.
Everything is looking real nice. Oh yeah, what's up with the vision cloud? I googled it but could find much on it's makeup.

Glad to see you here Epiphyte. The gal pictured here (above) has been in FFOF/PM/EWC for the past couple of weeks, .. The OTHER problem-childs are the gals on the back burner (Vision Cloud, Purple Diesel, Green Candy, ..and the Headband was the worst-affected), ..

The yellow-y in the first of today's photos was mostly from the ambient light from the HPS. The more recent picture was taken out of the HPS room entirely, ..

Edit: Not sure on the Vision Cloud, actually. I got some genes from a good friend of mine, visiting from out of town, .. I really don't know many people beyond the four walls of my house, but I've never heard of any of these strains around here - so I don't have much firsthand reference.

Went to the store today to get some 1 gal pots, stakes, and twine (I started my veggies PAINFULLY early this year - my tomatoes are 18"-24" already..)..

And the hydrostoreman was kind enough to kick down a 3 gal smartpot. SO! This weekend, I think I oughtta celebrate by throwing not one, but TWO gals in the oven. I'm planning on the Green Candy (in a 5 gal), and the Headband (which is a bit behind the GC) - a perfect fit for the 3 gal.

Perpetual is for sure - I'm only growing for little ol' me, and in my advanced age, I'm really smoking a lot less than I used to (which is not to say I'm NOT smoking a lot).

So this whole grow setup is really half hobby, half necessity. (Laws here also allow for 2.5 oz/patient, so the perpetual is the best way to keep myself in-line, .. An oz here, and oz there, .. Instead of one big WHAMMO)

The funky growth issues have cleared themselves right up - I started a thread in the infirmary, and folks here are SO. DAMNED. HELPFUL. Those problem-plants were all vegging in a mix made in part by the FFHF - that seemed to be the issue. I moved 'em into a mix of FFOF, and things seem muuuuch better.

Hey Silver! Glad to see you're getting everything going and planning ahead for the future, What ever happened to the Weird tip clone... Blue Dragon?? I think?

It Really looks like the lights were WAY to close while you were cloning causing the plant to photosynthesize and yellow up... even burnt on the tips.... I've had great luck cloning with VERY little light.

Anyways, just my 2 cents... Any pics???

The Blue Dragon is still in recovery mode, .. I'm fairly certain it was a pH issue - definitely not a light issue, as it was only under a pair of T12s. I put it in the corner of the room for a few days, out of direct light, and BAM I had roots pokin' out in a a week or so.

It's back under the T12s, getting carefully monitored pH'd water, .. We'll see. It's not looking terribly promising, but it's on the back burner for now, so it's all good.

..And these broads had their first lights-out last night - Purple Diesel (front left) and Green Candy (rear right) (The rear left is the 14-day-old Mystery chick)

Pardon the yellow - was too lazy to drag 'em all out for a group shot.

The lower leaves are showing some freakout, which I'm almost certain was from the f*cking Happy Frog that they were in for a short time. The new growth seems to be funk-free, though.

Note to self: No more FFHF, even if I have gobs of it leftover from this year's veggies.

Mile High Guy - I was just thinking about this, .. I think maybe you were referring to non-heat-related light problems..? Maybe I misunderstood initially.

I've always thought that as long as heat wasn't an issue, then there's not really such a thing as "too close?" (Well, I suppose growing up into and within is too close) Maybe I'm wrong?

(After having that thought, I went downstairs and put it on the floor (not on the table), now a good couple feet from the T12)

Still real mangy lookin'. She might be a goner -- which would suck, but really, out of 9 different strains/9 different cuts, to lose one, .. I'll accept it. Considering the rough travel that I know they had, and I'm a doofus to boot, probly killin' shit.. Alllll good.
